Another layout from Debden....... Last summer whilst on holiday in Dorset we spent a day at Lulworth Castle. The castle was built in the early 17th Century and has changed little over the years. During the summer visitors to the castle can watch dramatic battles on horseback at the spectacular summer jousting contests held in the magnificent castle grounds and whilst at Debden I created a layout of a couple of the photos I took of the horse display. I used some very old patterned papers from Scenic Route and I think 7 Gypsies, a scrap of vellum for the journaling, card stock flourishes and title cut on the Cricut and stickled, a making memories metal frame, photo turns and brads. You can see more of my photos of the castle. park and horses here on my photography blog
There's a playfulness to the placement of the photos and the title that reflect the playful personality of the subject. It is always a challenge to fit many photos into a layout when "storytelling" in a scrapbook without making it appear overcrowded. Here, I chose to cluster the photos by threes to create continuity. The eye travels from the profile photo on the upper left and the whimsical title in a linear fashion, glancing at the photos three-by-three, until the eye rests on the cluster of the large head shot and the journaling on the right.
Good Morning Blog friends... Inkido / Papercraft Scandinavia are having a DT call and I would love to apply for their DT for they have some amazing paper lines that they produce! For this call I have to make a blog post showing some of my favourite works...choosing them last night made me realise that I actually did some amazing LO's this year, and I am not making this statement to blow my own horn...It's just that I sometimes doubt my work and tend to think that I can not do 'beautiful' pages! It was good going through my work and seeing some pages that I have forgotten about...I think one should do that more regularly, just to see how one has grown and also pick up on some favourite techniques... Here then are a few of my favourites...showing how I love working with papers, trying to showcase them by layers and distressing and just playing with different techniques...I hope you all enjoy a little visit to some older pages...Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure of using Inkido papers before... ~~~~~ A short Bio...please feel free to view my Resume for details of future and up coming Design Teams... I am Patricia Basson, mother of 3 and furry mother to 7 - 2 dogs, 3 own cats and 2 foster cats...I have been scrapping since the end of 2006 and just love working with papers, trying to mould and shape them to bring out the beauty of the designs. Love distressing and layering and am playing a little with the popular mixed media lately. I have done many albums in the beginning with multiple photos documenting the life's of the Basson children ext...and find that I am treating scrapping more as an art form these days...I love following several scrapping idols via the social media and find inspiration from them... These are links to galleries were my works are posted, hope you enjoy the visit... How wonderful to have National Scrapbook Day and Mothers' Day fall on the same weekend! I've been wanting to design a scrapbook about my mom since she passed away several years ago. I know it would be extremely healing for me, and perhaps now the time is right for me to tackle that project.
These are my 2 favorite pictures of my grandmother. She has been really sick lately, and has been on my mind, a lot. She is around 6 or 7 in the one pic and 92 in the other. She is now 97. She just got out of the hospital after being in there for 3 weeks. She is back home now. I have yet to do the journaling on this layout. Patterned paper is Chatterbox Chateau collection. Letters are Heidi Swapp. Ribbon is Offray. ColorBox FLuid Chalk.
Here is my lovely mother's page, Kathe Ruth (Small) Porter. I'm not going to post all the journalling since she's alive, but I will put a little of it here: Kathe has been a stay-at-home wife and mother. Although not a position that is often well-respected, she worked harder than most people who work outside the home. Everyone always commented how clean her house was and that was no small feat for a family with two small children. She often read to her children and played games with them when they were little. The strong foundation that she provided greatly contributed to her family's happiness and success. On the star: She is an avid reader, enjoying books from many genres. On the heart: She enjoys spending time with her grandsons. Credits: Papers and elements from Blushbutter's Baby Boy Heart Strings kit and Add-on Fonts: Angelina (her name), Amaze D (text) and Andy on the star & heart Software: PSP X2
Happy Friday Everyone! Hope your week has been a good one. It's been a pretty productive week for me so I'm feeling good about that. I was feeling pretty behind on things, but kicked it into gear this week, and I'm getting caught up. (for now anyway :) I had decided since I got house"stuff" done Wed, that yesterday would be "creative day". A day to get caught up on projects and deadlines. I got 3 layouts and a card done! THAT is good for me..because I am NOT a fast "creator" at all. I dink around way too much ... looking for just the right button or piece of lace, when the first one I picked up would have probably been just fine. lol Can you say "quirky". Anyway, I was so please things fell into place like they did and I felt good about the finished projects. (I'll be sharing soon). The layout below is one I did last week using a new stamp set from Crafty Secrets called " Vintage Labels". You can see them all here. Aren't they fantastic? They are already available! Vintage Labels Clear Art Stamps I love that all the centers come out and are interchangeable, and that it has all the little accent pieces for embellishing. I used mine around the edge of the border of my layout. The bird image I used below is from the "Birds and Blossoms" Creative Scraps . The papers are from the "Creating with Vintage Images" CD I am just pretty much LOVING that set. ****************************************** What been going on around here?? Well, a little of this an that. I told you I've been busy catching up on things around here, but I've also been taking time to enjoy this fantastic weather. Oh my, the days have just been so cool and comfortable, and the nights ...the best kind for sleeping :) Windows open! LOVE that! Living in the country I know having the windows open will just undo all that dusting I did this week..but so be it! It's totally worth it. Nothing better than fresh air. I can already feel that the seasons are getting ready to change again. As much as I complain about the extreme weather changes here, I do love the changing of the seasons. I totally enjoy fall ( I'm just not so happy with what comes "after" that). I really don't even mind snow.. or .. even "winter" for a while... it just seems to last longer than I would like. lol I have really noticed the gorgeous lighting in the evenings. You'll be able to tell from my next week photos, I've been intrigued by it... . um... alot. This is my new lamp. I saw it and fell in love with it immediately! My sissy bought it for me as an early Birthday present. Is she the best or what?? Something as simple as these pears on the dinning room table in the evening, just seem to beautiful. Last night, Dan had work late, so we knew he wouldn't be able to join us ,but Jarad, Kate , mom and I had dinner together at the rehab facility she is at. They have a beautiful room for families to use if they want to gather for meals or just visit. It was just so, I was wishing for a picnic to take mom outside. No picnic tables, so I decided we'd have a picnic anyway.. but inside. Picnic basket, red checked place mats, paper plates, KFC... oh.. and artificial daisies from the dollar store, that I picked up on the way (when I stopped for napkins and plastic ware), in a vase I snatched from moms room. lol Wa la.. (sorta picnic) It was so great to see Jarad and Kate and catch up on whats been going on in their lives. (This momma's heart is happy!) And then... another beautiful sunset for my viewing pleasure, on the way home afterwards. Cant been that. . It was a good day ************* have a great start to your weekend my friends

I'm super excited to share this post today, not only do I have another Page Kit to share with you all today but I've been busy creating more stamp designs! .....So my last kit page for The Scrapbook Diaries sold out super fast so I immediately started work on the next one! I thought I would again choose colors from purple/green color palettes, but this time with a hint of teal. As always there is lots of cool products in the kit, including some intricately cut wood embellishments from Wycinanka (unique pieces from an international manufacturer), Spritz from Shimmerz, Crafters Workshop Stencil and of course premium patterned papers (these papers have a nice thick almost watercolor-like weight). Butterflies are always a favorite embellishment for me and there are lots of them in this page kit, enough for this design and then some (see the beautiful bonus page Janene created to go with this kit!). Lots of pretty frame accents, blooms, vintage style lace, chipboard, inks and more! And of course you will get a link to a private Video Tutorial made just for this page that will give you unlimited access in order to recreate this page for yourself. If you want to jump on this Page Kit you can find it here at The Scrapbook Diaries! As always, Janene offers this kit as a Basic Kit or Complete Kit....she likes to help you save if you already have some of the items in your stash like the spritz or stencil. Grab one while they are still available, they do go fast! :) Now as promised I have some exciting news to share with you all today. I've been busy at the drawing board this past month and have created 4 new stamp sets! When I start to work I ask myself what I would like to have in a stamp set, and then I start designing..... This first set I created a diamond/daisy background stamp. This is a designed I used to draw out by hand on some of my layouts a few years ago and I thought I would draw it out for a stamp to be used as a background design. This one will be fun for mixed media style pages where you want to create your own background design. I also sketched out some Daisy designs (separating the stems so that the blooms can be used in whatever design best fits your project). You can find this stamp HERE. I've gotten quite a few emails over the year asking where people can get my word stamps that I used on my pages. LOL....I didn't have a word stamp, that was just my handwriting. So it was suggested that I make up some word stamps in my own handwriting. Here I've used words that I often use on my scrap pages and projects....even though it's my own handwriting, this one will come in handy for me as well, as I won't have to worry that and the end of creating my page, that I might mess things up by slipping up while writing my word :) ...You can find this stamp HERE. When I dress up my shabby-chic Chipboard pieces, one of my favorite things to do is use a nice scripty word stamp to randomly stamp onto my white painted chipboard, and then use crackle paint on the piece. It gives a really cool shabby look, so I made the 'Beauty' and 'Paris' word stamps for this purpose. Another thing I find I love to use a lot is script quote stamps for creating my own background designs, so I used one of my favorite quotes "And forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet, and the winds long to play with your hair". And of course label stamps are always fun for creating interesting and pretty backgrounds, and are also a great option for cardmakers. You can find this stamp HERE. Another design that I've hand drawn on some of my layouts in the past is this Dandelion design (this one would be really cool used with embossing powder!). I also thought this one would be a fun one for card makers, so I created a word flourish as well for this stamp (again hand drawn and in my own handwriting). I had a little more room on this stamp so I asked myself what design I would like to have handy for corner designs.....I realized I have never seen a fishnet design stamp. I did a search looking for one and could not find one....so here is what I came up with, I wanted the design to have a sort of organic, distress look. You can find this stamp HERE. NOTE: Janene decided to release this stamp with the release of the latest Kit Page I made for The Scrapbook Diaries so that those of you who are interested in both the Kit and the stamps can save on shipping in one order. International buyers, be sure to click on 'Bill me actual shipping fees" especially if you are buying the stamps on their own, ....there was some issues that arose with the last sets when international buyers, as a very large shipping price would automatically be added to the stamps (this was a standard/flat rate for international buyers but meant for large packages) Janene can ship the stamps on their own for a much more reasonable rate in small packages. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, I always appreciate your kind words and feedback on my work, you all make my day! xo xo
Hello everyone, Gabrielle here with you today! Yup, I’m back for a little guest spot! When I received the gorgeous Vintage Romance collection in the mail a couple weeks ago, I felt compelle…
I have another quick project using the Monthly Moments: May Journal Card Collection and stamps from Papertrey Ink. I wanted to do something unexpected with these products, as usual, ha. I always love to try and think outside the box...I hope that's ok with you all! :) I loved the patterns in the Journal Cards and wanted to use up some of those patterns, so I created a layout by punching circles out of the Journal Cards. You could use the Journal Card papers to die cut shapes too, if you don't want to always use them as rectangle pieces. By cutting them into shapes, you can utilize these cute patterns on cards as well! Use them however you want - cut them, leave them plain, stitch on them...whatever your heart desires. Also, I used the stamps in an unusual way, I guess you could say. I love the look of "text" these days, so I used the Monthly Moment stamps ("happy day") on a punched circle to add that text feel to my page. A Circle Scribbles die cut is machine stitched over the top. To keep the layout cohesive, I used all punched circles the same size for the background, but added different things to each one of them. Keeping the color palette similar throughout ties it all together (which was drawn from the Journal Card paper collection). On the "Take Note" circle, I trimmed the saying from a Journal Card and punched a smaller circle from another Journal Card. A piece of resin and wooden heart finishes it off, and I love the layers! My older daughter just graduated from 8th grade, and I wanted to document some of my feelings with this page. She's off to high school next year! Memories Captured scrapbook layout: (All supplies by Papertrey Ink unless otherwise noted.) STAMPS: Monthly Moments: May INK: True Black PAPER: Monthly Moments: Journal Card Paper Collection, white and Vintage Cream cardstock, Monthly Moments: June free download (memories captured) DIES: Circle Scribbles die, Clip Tips OTHER: burlap by PTI, wood veneer by Elle's Studio, resin frame and pearl by Melissa Frances, floral pin - craft supply, washi tape - unknown, Black Velvet Color Shine by Heidi Swapp. ______ You can find the Monthly Moments products for May at Papertrey Ink on the front page. If you came here from Angelica's blog, then you are on the right track. If not, go back to Swirlydoos' blog and start from there. We have some amazing projects for you to see!! So I was asked to be the Guest Designer this month over at Swirlydoo's and I have to say I was just so thrilled and happy to say YES!! Krissy Mossbarger (Owner of Swirlydoo's) is a dear old friend of mine from my early days at Scrapbook.com. We were together in a COF (Circle of Friends) group with a bunch of really wonderful and talented girls. We shared our projects, challenged each other and shared our daily lives, supporting each other along the way. Krissy had asked me when she started up Swirlydoo's to be on her design team but unfortunately I was on another kit club team at the time so I couldn't join up with her. So when I was recently asked to do a guest spot for Swirlydoo's I was so happy to finally give her a great big YES! I love Krissy's taste in product and I have to say it was such a pleasure working with the July kit!! The papers are GORGEOUS! The embellishments, so beautiful! And I love this month's Technique kit!! It's got this wonderful air dry clay in it! I used it in the above layout, I just rolled out a few strands of the clay and winded it together, then added some 'bark' patterns with the tip of a knife, I gave the white clay a light sweep with some watered down brown acrylic paint. Here is a close-up... There are some beautiful Dusty Attic Fountains in this kit as well, they are just a perfect match for the lovely patterned papers in the kit! Here I just gave the chippie a light coat of white paint, rubbed a little of the brown chalk ink (also in the kit) on it and added some dots of Perfect Pearls in Silver. Above is another layout I made with this gorgeous kit! Krissy has a knack of putting together papers from different collections and having them work beautifully with each other! I've been working on a series of l/o's I'm making for my nephew and his new wife, this is a second one I've made with one of their engagement photos. I love the cute Prima fountain in the kit with the little birdies, I just draped some green tinted clay hanging from the fountain to give a mossy effect. I also used the clay to make the 3 little eggs in the Dusty Attic Nest I added to the page, I just left them white and added some light blue paint and added a few dots with a brown pen. Here are some close-up pic's of the page... I made a third layout using the kit goodies and again I used the clay to add to the embellishments... I made the heart embellishments as well as the lily flowers from the air dry clay. I posted a little step by step on how I made the heart embellishments over at Swirlydoo's ...you can find it HERE When I saw the cute package of tassels in the kit, I new I had to do this zipper idea I saw on a tag on Pinterest (but for the life of me I can't find it on my pin boards again to link you....when I find it I'll link it up :) ...I used a 25 cent zipper I had in my stash to make this one, but I did make another page where I literally cut out the zipper from an old pair of jeans lol! (this will be pubbed in an upcoming issue of Scrap365) ......and I have just one more little project to share with you that I made from this lovely kit!... I couldn't resist making this little jewellery box for one of my daughters using the papers and the clay in this months kits. I bought the box from our local Dollar store and covered the top with the quilted design I used on the hearts. The bloom was simply made with some pink tinted clay, I just ruffled the edges a bit and used an embossing tool to put some light lines in the petals. Here is a close-up of the bloom... So now that you've seen my projects with this beautiful kit, be sure to hop along and see the work of the other talented ladies on this team, you will NOT be disappointed! Here are some of the deet's if you'd like to have the chance to win some goodies along the way.... You have until midnight, eastern time, on Monday, July 9th to complete the hop. I just finished this layout today. I used a a mishmash of Graphic 45 papers. There's Steampunk, Fashionista, On the Boardwalk, and Le Romantique. Wasn't sure I could make it work, but I love the end result. I used some of the wonderful chipboard cuts that I found in a scrapstore in Vegas. I love this clock and will have to find some more of this wonderful stuff! I added some border punching with the Martha Stewart quilted lace punch. The flowers were again made with my cricut using the George and Basic shapes cartridge. Except this time I cut three sizes for each flower. I always ink my flowers and then trace on them and add stamens. It may not look good when you are doing it, but it will look really nice when the flower is put together. The design is totally mine. It started out simple and then I just kept adding. Hope you enjoy it.
Hi everyone! Today I have a 'pretty in pink' layout to share with you, using Maja design papers, Dusty Attic Chipboard and lots of lovely goodies from Tresors de Luxe Etsy shop. I almost feel a little guilty sharing this layout because this is from a Maja Design Limited Edition collection that I believe is now sold out....but then of course, that means that a lot of you have this collection in your stash, and might like to see more samples done with this collection. I just love the florals and beautiful pinks and greens in this collection. The papers I used for this project are..... Maja Design Papers: Sofiero (Royal Summer Recidence, Enjoying the Lovely Fragrance, Romantic Picnic in the Park, Stroling Down the Rose Path). I was given these beautiful handmade blooms (Multi-color Chiffon Flowers) from my friend Lucy at Tresors de Luxe Etsy site. When I saw the pretty fabric blooms I thought immediately of the the Maja Design Sofiero collection, I just knew these blooms would work well with these papers! Lucy has such an amazing collection of beautiful handcrafted blooms in her store and her vintage lace is absolutely gorgeous. I also used one of her 'Shabby-chic Floral Clusters' on this page along with some of her lovely vintage lace. If you haven't visited Lucy's shop before, you are in for a treat! I love these papers so much that I've used up most of my stash, but I still had lots of bits and pieces left, so I used some of these to make the little ribbon banners coming out of the side of my page design. I added machine stitching to the paper ribbons to give more of a 'fabric' look to them. I accented my page with a few pieces of Dusty Attic chipboard (Skeleton Clock frame, Folliage, Wrought Iron Fence, Speech Bubbles, Ornate Corner #6). I also added a bit of of texture with home-made texture paste and a Crafters Workshop stencil (Mini-Damask). A question I get asked a lot is where you can find Maja Design Papers and Dusty Attic chipboard in North America. I try to keep up to date links in my side panel of my blog as sources for my blog folowers....but two shops that carry a good supply are: The Scrapbook Diaries (For Maja Design Papers....and Yes! Janene has ordered in the ENTIRE new 'Coffee in the Arbour' collection!) Moments of Tranquility (Natasha has a HUGE collection of Dusty Attic chipboard in her online store as well as Maja Design papers). Thanks so much for stopping by today and letting me share my latest project with you! I appreciate all the sweet comments and feedback! xo xo

Hello there, Mel here today with a quick Step-by-Step tutorial on how I created this layout using some beautiful Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays. To create my layout
The Mediterranean Blooms Suite is just stunning! I went a little crazy and created two cards and a scrapbook page layout for you today. So you will get three sets of measurements, supplies, and photos
Sometimes I like to just stick to one collection and use all the embellishments made to coordinate with the collection. It makes a page design come together easily. But other times I like to play around and pick a bit of this collection and a little of that! That's what I did with this page. I used a wood panel paper from the Bo Bunny Heritage collection for my background paper. Then layered a paper called 'Gratitude' from the Garden Journal collection. I then used other papers from the Garden Journal collecton for my matting and coordinated with embellishments from the same collection. Then I wandered over to the Sweet Life collection by Bo Bunny and picked out a butterfly from the Noteworthy die cut pack to add as an extra embellishment to this page. I used film strip sticker from the 12x12 sticker page from Garden Journal to create a horizontal page design. This shot shows products from 4 collections (Butterfly from Sweet Life, woodgrain paper from Heritage, Stickers, chipboard stickers and papers from Garden Journal and alphabet stickers from Star-crossed (LOVE those alpha stickers!). I went with the greens and neutrals from the Bo Bunny Blossom collections to embellish around my photo. I also added a hemp twine bow and some bits of cheesecloth to add to the tattered look. Bo Bunny Products used on this Project: Patterned Paper: Heritage/Register, Garden Journal/Wonder, Gratitude,Pastel 6x6 paper pad: Garden Journal 12x12 Sticker Sheet: Garden Journal Combo Sticker: Star-Crossed (alphabet Stickers) Layer Chipboard: Garden Journal Noteworthey: Sweet Life, Garden Journal Jewels: Double Dot Emerald Jewels, Primrose Blossoms: Clover Bouquet, Clover Dahlia, Natural Earth Zinnia Stamps: Distressed Textures, It is Written Other products: Wyncinanka Wood embellishments Tim Holtz Distress Paint: Victorian Velvet, Bundled Sage Hemp Twine Cheesecloth Hope you enjoyed my project today! And hope you all have a lovely scrappy weekend! Thanks so much for all the sweet comments and feedback! xo
It's finally here!! The Scrapbook Diaries has gone LIVE! with their new 'Beauty and Grunge' Special Edition kit! What makes this kit so special? Not only is this kit just jam packed with premium scrapbook papers (Prima, 7 Dots, Maja Design and more!), gorgeous and unique embellishments, loads of mixed media products, stencils and even a gorgeous stamp set that was specially designed by Janene Meyerowitz for this kit....but it also comes with VIDEO TUTORIALS done by all 4 designers that worked with this kit (Frank Garcia, Kasia Krzyminska, Nadia Cannizzo and myself), there will also be extra bonus pages done by the design team members as well! So you will have lots of designs to choose from in recreating your own scrapbook pages! Here is a product photo of the kit.... I used lots of the blooms, stamps and pretty much every spritz and mixed media item included in the kit for my page (shown above). I did a bit of fussy cutting from the gorgeous Prima papers in the kit and of course did a little video tutorial to go with my page so you can see it come together. Here are a few close-ups of my page.... Pretty much everything I used to make this page is in the kit! So if you want to make one just like it, you can find it all in the package.....and then some! I also made a bonus page (this one doesn't come with a video tutorial but Kasia made up a video tutorial using the same products, so you will have a choice in designs to choose from when creating your own page). Here is the bonus page I made... The blooms in this kit are just spectacular! and the chipboard pieces as well. What I really enjoyed was using the stamps with this page, they fit in so well with the patterned paper. Here are some close-ups of the page and the kit goodies... I'm not sure I mentioned this in any of my past posts but earlier this month I found out I made the Top 20 pick for the Graphic45 design team. We were asked to send in a l/o or project that reflected our style. I ran into a bit of a problem in that I couldn't find any Graphic45 product at any of the local stores in the area! and I had to get my project sent off to them asap as it had to get from Canada to the US (postal service is crazy between the borders!) in record time. Well, so many of you came forward and offered to share you product with me so I could meet this deadline!! I ended up actually finding a store in Toronto (about a 3 hour drive back and forth) that had some of the new G45 product and was able to pull off the l/o above and get it sent off in time. Well, I didn't make the final cut, and I suppose in a way I didn't deserve it as I only now remembered to check the G45 blog to see the announcement! LOL!!.....I guess I was meant to jump out of bed this morning to check the site! and here I am at 4:00 in the afternoon only now remembering to check if I made it! So big congrats! to the ladies that made it! I'm looking forward to seeing their creations over the coming year. But one thing I did learn from this experiance is how many wonderful friends I have out there!! The outpouring support and offers to share their products so that I could meet the deadline was overwhelming! Most of you I have never even met in person and yet you've all been so kind and wonderful! So I want to say a big THANK-YOU to all my dear friends out there!! xx Here are a couple of close-up pic's and a small tutorial on how I make the scallop edges with the woven ribbon in it on my l/o's (I often get little PM's asking me about this, so here it is)..... 1. First off I have to say that I like to save interesting shapes as templates to scrapbook with on future products. So when I picked up a package of Bazzill 'Just the Edge' paper cuts, I saved one of each design to use on my l/o's as a template. I just simply trace out the design on a piece of patterned paper and cut out. You can also treat the edges of the cut out paper at this point, I like to lightly ink with a bit of chalk ink, and sometimes lightly distress the edge with a scissor. 2. Second step is to use a hole punch an punch out two holes at the top point of each scallop leaving only a small space between the punches. 3. The next step is to simply run the ribbon through the holes and secure the two edges of the ribbon underneath the patterned paper with some adhesive. You can at this point glue it down 'as is' to your project or you can mat it with some cardstock. Here is a close-up pic of the finished border, along with a couple more close-ups of the finished page... Thanks for having a peek!! ~Gabrielle xxx
I'm so happy to share with you my layout using the gorgeous new Primrose collection! As soon as I laid eyes on this collection, I had so many design ideas whirling through my head. So many beautiful elements to create with. I've been wanting to do a pretty soft feminine page design for this photo of my nephew's bride....there are always so many pretty details in a wedding and I just loved this photo that showed off her hair and bouquet. The first thing I did when I got my collection was sit down with a few of the patterned papers (while watching TV) and fussy cut the butterflies and labels from the Bliss and Garden papers. This way I was ready to roll when I started in on my layouts. I also went a little crazy with the new Washi Tapes! I used a whole bunch of strips to outline the framework of my background paper, then added random strips here and there as finishing touches. Another design element I used on this page is the Dusty Attic 'Leafy Scroll' which I painted with some Dusty In Color Paints. (You can find Dusty Attic chippies at Natasha's website HERE ) I wanted to go for an artsy/mixed media style background on this one, so I used lots of Bo Bunny texture and background stamps along with inks and texture paste. The small pink blooms where made from one of the patterned papers using a flower die. I wrote part of the title on my photo using a white Signo Unibal gel pen, this one writes very well on photos. Bo Bunny Product used: Patterned Paper: Bliss, Garden, Gate, Breath-taking, Memories/Primrose Buttons: Primrose Washi Tape: Primrose, Modern Miss, Black and White Stamps: Distressed Textures, It is Written, On this Day, Mama-razzi 2 Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today and for the kind comments! I love reading your feedback and am happy to reply to any questions you may have!

Hi and Good Morning :) Back again today with my DT card for our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs, where this week our theme is 'Vintage'. Cheery Lynn have some beautiful and very elegant dies which are perfect for a vintage creation, and I really enjoyed making this style of card. I started off with an 8 x 8 inch blank card base, so this is quite big. I layered HOTP papers onto Kraft card and pale cream bazzill card, and the same cardstock was used for cutting all the dies. I used the wonderful Sophia's Heart doily die for the background and the border lace is the stunning Anastasia Border. I added the Fanciful Flourish die to the side panel and then matted my vintage photograph using Oval scalloped and oval stacker dies. I tucked just one from the set of 3 Lace Deco Corners around the edges of the picture and added some pearls. The bottom right hand corner uses Victorian Romance Flourish. This was the first Cheery Lynn die I ever bought and still remains one of my favourites. I made some baby's breath flower stems (these were soooo easy!), and the larger white flowers were again nicked out of my pot pourri bowl! :D lol. All dies used on this card are: Lace Corner Deco H Sophia's Heart Anastasia Border Lace Corner Deco B Fanciful Flourish Oval stacker Scalloped oval stacker Exotic Butterflies Small #2 Exotic Butterflies - Small Victorian Romance Flourish Embellishment #2 - Baby's Breath Hummingbird Love Rose Leaf Strip I hope you find time to enter our challenge this week, I love looking at all the creative ways everyone interprets the challenges and uses these dies, its such a pleasure. Dont forget, there is also daily inspiration from the other talented members of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog, so check back often :) I am entering this card in the below competitions: Live & Love Crafts - Autumnal colours Allsorts Challenge - Stitching Sketch Saturday - Fab sketch - I flipped it to the side - hope thats ok :) Have a smashing day, and thanks so much for visiting today.
