While I was away cropping a few weekends ago, I managed to get a couple of layouts designed, along with some cards. This particular layout happened totally by accident as I found the photo tucked into my supplies and I was suddenly inspired to put it on a page! With no particular plan in mind, I dug through my papers, punches, stamps and embellies and came up with a page that I am quite happy with! When I found the #grateful wooden embellishment I knew I had found my title. It really says it all. For the background, I started with one of my coveted peeling paint pattern papers. Then I used three different BoBunny background stamps to add some interest. One of my favorite go-to elements are my doilies. I think they work so well with all sorts of layouts and cards. On this design, it added just a hint of 'pretty' for the one female in the photo - ME! I also couldn't resist adding some sequins for just a touch of bling. I am entering this layout into a challenge over at Challenge YOUrself. It is anything goes this month, as long as YOU are in the layout! This great challenge blog has been around for a while, and I have always wanted to play along. Thanks for stopping by :)

Hello there again! and pardon me while I dust the cobwebs from this place - it's been a while since I've visited. After taking a bit of a break from the scrapbooking world, I've joined the design team over at Gossamer Blue as a project designer. I've made a few new personal goals for this year and finishing an album for a certain little boy is high priority on that list! Aside from that, it feels really good to be creative and taking photos again. I've always enjoyed it, but sometimes I think taking a break from things that weigh you down can be a positive as it forces you to find new things that make you happy! My very first post on the Gossamer Blue blog went up yesterday (you can read a little about each project over there) think school supplies and makeovers. I was actually a little nervous when I first saw it in the am,... I guess it really has been some time since I've been designing. I have a whole day of fun stuff planned, the gym, grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning up that mess of a craft room I call home :) so, I will leave you all with just the photos of my latest projects. Enjoy your day! ~ T

I've been sitting on this project for such a long time and have just found the opportunity and 'time; to pop it onto the Imaginisce blog and share a sneak with you here... sorry, you have to pop over to Imaginisce to see the entire thing... I know, I'm mean! Now I've used the Happy Camper collection for this 'timely' piece which is just so darn adorable and I figured that it was no point having so much of it left over from my design team work that I figured it would be better off being in someone elses craft room being lovingly used. I have rummaged through both the Happy Camper and Happy Harvest collections and put together a wonderful stash of goodness, there may be one or two little pieces missing so if you don't mind, then I'd be happy to send this off to a new home with one lucky follower. All you have to do to enter is: - Pop over to the Imaginisce blog HERE to see the entire project and leave a comment there - Pop back here and leave a comment to enter. I will draw a winner on Halloween and announce it here! Good luck! From farm to you...

Hello everyone! This month several members of the Gossamer Blue design team got to work with some incredible sketches from PageMaps! The sketches are always so inspiring and fun to work with and I wa
Inspired by the Hambly 46mm blocks, i cropped my pictures the same size. And some patterned paper. I used the scrap dots 3D glue from Helmar to adhere the little squares. the end result conveys precisely what I hoped.
The next stop on our Deco Pattern release train is my Baby Deco quilt! In case you missed it, the Deco Quilt pattern is now available! If you haven't already read my initial blog post about the two-color Deco quilt that I made, be sure to check that out here. You'll find my inspiration, pattern sizes fabric requirements and other details about Deco. Converting my original Deco design into a baby quilt took a lot of trial and error. I knew that I didn't want to scale down the blocks, so I played around with different layouts of the same size blocks that are used in the Throw. Initially, the baby quilt looked more similar to the Throw, in that there were blocks on the top and bottom of the quilt as well. But then I accidentally landed on a really neat, sort of minimal layout that features a lot of negative space. At first glance, this design kind of mimics the look of lace. I get serious wedding dress vibes from the daintiness of the dots mixed with the solid blocks in the foreground. I love it so much that I contemplated making the throw size mirror this look, but in the end, I decided to leave it like this. Maybe one day I'll convert this specific layout to other sizes! . . Since my other Deco quilts were more bold and moody, I wanted this one to be different. One of my favorite fabric combinations of all time is Kona Snow and Doeskin. You might recall that Peter's Interwoven quilt uses these two colors and so does my Vintage Lace quilt that I made for myself. I absolutely love how soft and subtle both of these quilts are, so I wanted to create a Deco quilt using this fabric combination as well! The only difference is that I might a slight fabric substitution for what I had on hand. Instead of Snow, I used White, is it's a little more bright and crisp. Here's what I used for this quilt: Color: Kona White - 1 yard Background: Kona Doeskin - 2 yards Binding: Kona Leather - 1/2 yard Backing: AGF Happily Ever After - 3 yards (or less if you have multiple seams in your backing) We have quilt kits for this entire quilt (quilt top, backing and binding) in our shop!. I decided to machine quilt this quilt myself. Anytime I know that I'll have a quick finish, or a relatively smaller quilt, I like to go ahead and do the quilting myself (versus sending it off to a long-armer). I sometimes get asked what my preferences are with basting and hands down, I like to pin baste over spray! Personally, I seem to get puckers on the backing whenever I spray baste, but I know people who will say the same thing about pins. I also really love that pins are more sustainable. Make one purchase and you're set for life. With the spray, you have to keep buying it...and I don't like using aerosolized chemicals if I don't have to! You can find my pin basting tutorial here. . . Once my quilt sandwich was basted, I used my Janome Continental M7 for the straight line quilting. I loved the texture of the quilting on my Kismet Nightingale Quilt, so I wanted to recreate that. I also did something similar for my cover Celtic Crossing 2.0 quilt. Essentially, I quilted Horizontal lines that were ~2.75

Our guest designer this week is Lauren! My name is Lauren, AKA One Messy Mamma. I'm a working mum to one little man (8yo) and two fur babies, and married to my first love. We live in (usually) sunny North Queensland, Australia. I fell in love with scrapbooking over 12 years ago when I saw a display at our local grocery store - my first "supplies" consisted mainly of pretty (wrapping) paper from the $2 store and card from the office shop! I couldn't believe my eyes when I first visited a shop devoted to papercraft!! Since then I have been lucky enough to teach regular cardmaking and scrapbooking classes, and had a layout published in Scrapbook Creations (Aust.). Although I'm no longer teaching, I love sharing what I love with others and exploring all forms of creativity! Besides paper craft, I also love sewing, reading and genealogical research.
