Frank Gehry und Hans Scharoun sind einander nie begegnet – und doch sind zwei ihrer berühmtesten Bauwerke aufs Engste miteinander verknüpft: Die Walt Disney Concert Hall von Gehry in Los Angeles (2003) und die Berliner Philharmonie von Scharoun (1963). Ausgehend von diesen Bauten untersuchen Ausstellung und Katalog das Verhältnis beider Architekten zueinander.Der expressionistische Ansatz Scharouns lieferte die Inspiration für Gehrys dekonstruktivistische Formensprache in Los Angeles.
