Wanted to make a special card for my sister's 25th Anniversary. As soon as I saw Hussena's card on Pinterest I knew that's the card I wanted to case! Laura & Mark were married at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki, on a terrace with an ocean view. This was my inspiration photo (pre-ceremony): Hussena's background was beautifully watercolored, my background is brushed with Distress inks and Clarity brushes. Had fun making the spiral flowers! They are so tiny it took some practice, but worth it. I used Hammermill 100lb cardstock for the flowers, they are quite sturdy. I felt 110 would be too thick. The Spellbinders Susan's Garden Ultimate Toolkit really came in handy! The tweezers and forming tools added dimension to the dress flowers, boutonniere and foliage. Went through my Spellbinders sets and found a few with small foliage. All of the main elements are double-thickness. The dress and tux are popped on low foam tape. Stamps: MFT Essential Sentiments Dies: SB Ornamental Arch, SB Wedding Dress & Tux, IO Spiral Flowers, MFT Cherry Blossoms, Altenew Featured Sentiments Foliage dies: SB Be Bold Blooms, SB Enchanting Pocket Card Tag & Envelope, SB Victorian Splendor Slimline Happy 25th Anniversary, Laura & Mark!

I had so many flowers and leaves leftover from my previous card that I decided to make another. This time using less flowers. The Memory Box Matinee Rectangle was used to cut a panel from white cardstock. I used the second largest die. This gave a smaller canvas, if you will, to arrange the flowers on. I decided to dry emboss it using the Darice Basketweave Embossing Folder. If you look at my cards you will see that adding texture behind a focal point is a favorite of mine. I like the way i

Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing a few more cards I made with Spellbinders new Just Wanted to Say collection. This collection was released in June and I forgot to share these cards with you! If you haven't had a chance to check out their NEW Universal Plate System you should. It will accommodate all your die cutting and embossing needs and the sandwich order is printed on the plates! If you missed my blog post talking about it, check it out here. My first card features one of the cutie birdie die sets and one of the new 3D Embossing folders. I gotta say I love this sweet little Chickadee die set! I added touches of white gel pen to his wings to give him pops of white. I snuck in a single bloom from my favorite Be Bold Blooms die set! I embossed white cardstock and then blended some distress oxide inks on it. I then coordinated the blooms with the ink. I combined 2 Glimmer sentiment sets for the sentiment. I do my hot foiling in batches and then pick and chose what works with my project. Way more efficient that way. My sister Julie has a birthday this coming week. Her favorite color is blue and I decided to use these great flower dies from Spellbinders to cut out different shade of blue cardstock. The centers of the flower were ink blended to add some shading and depth. The flower centers were cut gold mirror cardstock. I had a hard time getting an arrangement I liked for this card and finally settled on this one, but it wasn't my favorite. It just looked to blah. I decided to take a blue Copic Marker
Hi everyone! I've really been enjoying the new 3D embossing folder collection from Spellbinders June release. My card today pairs the Beautiful Blooms folder and the new Stitched HI die set. Products used on this card: These are affiliate links which means that if you shop with these, I will receive a small commission at no cost to you. If I've inspired you in some way I appreciate your support. I used 3 colors of pink/berry colored embroidery floss and stitched them in an ombre progression light to dark, top to bottom. Awhile back I was deciding between buying less expensive mid-grade floss or the more expensive premium DMC floss. I ended up getting the mid-grade floss off Amazon and while it's not as smooth as DMC, the color selection can't be beat and it's VERY usable. I purchased this set from the brand Inscraft and since half came pre-wrapped on bobbins (a total bonus!), I bought bobbin cards to wrap the rest. To get that soft mint look in the background, I inked the folder on the floral RECESSED side. If you're unsure which side to ink, run your hand along the inside and ink the side that does NOT have the floral parts raised. Here is a close up of the inked panel. TIP: give your cardstock a light spritz with water before embossing. The 3D folders stretch the cardstock fibers more than the normal folders and this will reduce the amount of cracking. If you want to see a video of the card closeup, head over to my Instagram page and check out my reel! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
