Fare il sapone è sempre stata una tradizione di tutte le famiglie contadine, una conoscenza che si tramandava di generazione in generazione. Nelle scene dei vecchi film si vedono spesso le lavandaie sul bordo dei fiumi o nei lavatoi comuni strofinare grossi tocchi di sapone giallognolo su lenzuola enormi e abiti che poi mettevano ad asciugare al sole. Nella mia infanzia ho sentito raccontare di queste scene dai miei genitori, erano momenti di socializzazione, di condivisione e anche di pettegolezzi tra donne che, nel fare lavori così faticosi, trovavano il modo di svagarsi e unire l'utile al dilettevole. Anche la produzione del sapone era un momento importante in cui le donne si riunivano per un rito con cadenza annuale, che solitamente corrispondeva ai giorni successivi la macellazione del maiale, la materia prima infatti era proprio grasso suino. All'aperto, nel retro della casa, veniva allestito un fuoco di legna di querce e ulivi con sopra un enorme calderone detto "callà" dove acqua, lardo, strutto, olio d'oliva vecchio e soda, erano sapientemente dosati e bolliti a lungo, per ottenere il sapone che poi sarebbe stato ripartito tra le varie famiglie in proporzione al grasso conferito, messo a stagionare per poi essere usato durante tutto l'anno. Mia nonna e mia zia, ormai quasi novantenni, continuano ancora la tradizione, anche se con quantità decisamente inferiori e risultati non sempre perfetti. La loro passione mi ha spinto ad imparare le antiche tecniche di saponificazione ed adattarle alle moderne metodologie, che permettono di ottenere in poco tempo e con poca fatica, prodotti ottimi ed ecologici. Nella ricetta che propongo, ho riciclato l'olio di semi di girasole con cui ho fatto le frittelle di carnevale con l'aggiunta olio d'oliva e strutto. Per ottenere il sapone vanno scaldati insieme tutti i grassi e gli oli, mantenuti ad una temperatura di 45° circa, controllando con un termometro per alimenti a immersione. Prima di iniziare a scaldare gli oli, in un contenitore capiente, si mette la soda in acqua innescando una reazione che produce la "soluzione caustica", durante questo processo l'acqua sale di temperatura, raggiunge i 90° e poi inizia a scendere lentamente. Si deve aspettare che la soluzione caustica sia tra 45 e 50 gradi e quindi versarci gli oli miscelandoli con l'aiuto di un frullatore a immersione. In poco tempo si raggiungerà il "nastro" fase in cui la consistenza è molto cremosa e a questo punto si può aggiungere del profumo per saponi o dell'olio essenziale, se si vuole un sapone profumato. Quando il sapone è ancora morbido lo si versa il sapone nello stampo. Io uso uno stampo in legno che rivesto di cartaforno, sufficiente per contenere 2kg di sapone, ma si possono usare anche gli stampi in silicone, come quelli per i plumcake o per le torte. Nello stampo il sapone continua la sua reazione e comincerà a solidificare quindi lo lasciamo ben coperto da pellicola trasparente e un panno per almeno 24 ore per poi riprenderlo ed estrarre dallo stampo, sempre con l'ausilio di guanti in gomma, la soda infatti potrebbe essere ancora presente. Tolto dallo stampo si può tagliare in pezzi delle dimensioni preferite, se avanza qualche piccolo ritaglio basterà ridurlo a scagliette che saranno perfette da aggiungere al detersivo per lavatrice. INGREDIENTI 800g di olio di semi esausto, 200gr di olio d'oliva, 1kg di strutto, 600g di acqua, 272g di soda caustica, essenza profumata per sapone. In tutta la fase di lavorazione è importantissimo usare delle precauzioni, prime fra tutte indossare degli occhiali protettivi, dei guanti in gomma o lattice e quando si maneggia la soda, indossare una mascherina. Inoltre non vanno usate pentole e utensili in alluminio. Non è un procedimento molto pericoloso, ma quando si maneggia olio caldo e prodotti come la soda caustica è sempre consigliabile prestare la massima cautela. Cubetti fatti in casa per lo scrub quotidiano: l’esfoliante solido homemade a base di zucchero e sapone di Marsiglia Combinando l’azione dello zucchero, del sapone e dell’olio di cocco, il nostro scrub homemade diventa un perfetto strumento per l’igiene e la cura di noi stesse, poiché mentre esfolia pulisce e ammorbidisce l’epidermide, in una multiazione. Inoltre, la forma a cubo, solido, risolve un problema forse poco noto ma che comunque esiste: i prodotti che siamo abituati ad utilizzare solitamente sono in forma fluida o semi-fluida. Restando in doccia o ai margini della vasca da bagno costantemente, vengono a contatto (inevitabilmente) con l’acqua, che si annida nei barattoli e che ristagnando favorisce il proliferare dei batteri. Oltre al sapone e allo zucchero di canna, che sta alla base dello scrub per il potere esfoliante, noi aggiungiamo anche un po’ di argilla rosa, un’argilla molto fine che depura, assorbe gli oli in eccesso e purifica la pelle, anche quella più sensibile che si arrossa facilmente. Ecco gli ingredienti: Una tazza di zucchero di canna 1.5 kg di sapone di Marsiglia solido 2/3 di tazza di olio di cocco 1 cucchiaio di argilla rosa 30 gocce di olio essenziale di lavanda Ed ecco la ricetta: Iniziamo tagliando a pezzetti il sapone di Marsiglia e mettendolo in una ciotola di vetro, infilata in una casseruola riempita per metà d’acqua. Accendiamo il fuoco (medio) e lasciamo sciogliere a bagnomaria, mescolando di tanto in tanto. In un’altra ciotola, mescoliamo l’argilla rosa con l’olio di cocco, e una volta che il sapone è pronto mescoliamo tutto insieme. Se si formano troppi grumi o il composto diventa solido, mettiamolo di nuovo a sciogliere. Nel composto aggiungiamo quindi l’olio essenziale e immediatamente lo zucchero. Mescoliamo molto velocemente e riempiamo con il composto uno stampo per cubetti di ghiaccio in silicone. Mettiamolo in frigorifero per un’ora, quindi, una volta che i cubi si saranno solidificati, stacchiamoli. Possiamo conservarli in barattoli chiusi, al riparo da luce e calore diretti. Lo struccante è un prodotto indispensabile per ogni donna, anche per coloro le quali si truccano poco o solo occasionalmente. Quella che vi presento oggi è una ricetta con la quale potrete realizzare in modo facile e veloce, il vostro struccante fai da te; sapete che io amo le soluzioni molto naturali, semplici e facili da realizzare.
