The close working relationship between Milton and Sally Avery (1902-2003) resulted in an "Avery Style" with it's highly abstracted figures, flattened forms and vivid colors. Michel's works are held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, The Corcoran Gallery among others in the USA and worldwide.

You can certainly see the similarity in their styles. Sally never achieved the success of her husband. But she supported the family by selling her illustrations during the lean years. Milton's works fetched very high prices after his death, and Sally became a wealthy woman.
