Sympathy card with Quiet Meadow and Meadow Dies and Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. Card designed and created by Elaine Harding
Good Morning all! The Stamp Review Crew are hopping! For this one we are all sharing projects using the "Quiet Meadow" bundle. I am in love with this set, its so versatile and easy to create lovely projects with. I decided to use a combination of the stamped images (sentiment & speckles) and lots of die cut pieces. All of the florals and foliage were cut in Basic White and coloured with Stampin Blends in... Mossy Meadow-Flirty Flamingo-Cinnamon Cider-Mango melody-Old Olive-Pumpkin Pie-Rich Razzleberry...Layered on a base of Rich Razzleberry-Basic White & Crumbcake. I also added some Rhinestones coloured with my Blackberry Bliss blend to finish off. If you are happily hopping, you would have arrived here from the fabulously creative Jay Soriano and l'm sure he had something amazing to share! But if you've just landed here, you can follow the hop and see all of the wonderful crew projects by clicking the link above or "Next" banner below. While indulging myself with some free craft time after completing the cutting of next week's class kits, and completing a card for another challenge, I rolled with the flow and turned to Just Add Ink for further inspiration. When I looked at the image, I saw one of the new In-Colours, Pale Papaya, and ran with that along with a touch of Bumblebee. I've also included two of the other new In-Colours, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. I reached for what is fast becoming a new go-to set for me: the Quiet Meadow bundle, which is available from 3 May. As the photo had strong vertical lines, I used a strip of Pale Papaya DSP along the edge. I used the 2021-23 In-Colour Stampin' Write markers, and Bumblebee from the 2020-22 collection, to colour the floral image from Quiet Meadow and stamped that. I added some extra tiny flowers in Bumblebee and Pale Papaya, as well as the script stamp, then some splatters in Soft Succulent. The other part of the bundle is the Meadow dies and they are the most amazing floral dies, rather like large silhouettes. I've cut two cornflowers and the fern foliage and sponged them in Bumblebee, Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent and arranged them over the stamped imagery. The sentiment, and sentiment label, are also from the same bundle. To finish, I've added in three of the new In-Colour gems, these ones in Evening Evergreen. All of these products: DSP, stamps, dies and inks, and embellishments will be available from 3 May. I was intrigued by the sketch at The Paper Players this week. It served as inspiration for another outing of the Quiet Meadow bundle. I love the versatility of the dies - so many things to do with them - and the images and sentiments of the stamp set. Sadly, I had need of a sympathy card this week after the death of a friend's parent and this is what influenced the colour choices and the sentiment. Having said that there are so many things to do with the dies, I have opted to leave them plain white and 'do' things to the background instead. I started with a piece of Fresh Freesia and used blending brushes to add colour: Gorgeous Grape at the bottom and Fresh Freesia towards the top. I used a water painter to drip some water over it to get some spots where the colour lifted. Not so easy to see are the splatters of Wink of Stella that I tapped out over it but they add some shimmery interest in real life. Then I added in some stamped images from Quiet Meadow: splatters in Fresh Freesia, the text stamp and some tiny flowers in Gorgeous Grape. If the embossing folder in unfamiliar to you, watch out for it in the July-December Mini Catalogue, open on 3 August. It is the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder. I'm in love with it! 💜 Update: Delighted to be chosen as A Cut Above at The Paper Players. If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I love this style of card; simple, rustic, natural! I used the Quiet Meadow Bundle to make it.
The Quiet Meadow stamp set (155082; page 68 of the annual catalog) is not the true star of this show; the background is! Just another example of using color to make products pop in a new way. The Meadow Dies (page 172) created the black center flower. Against the colorful background, it doesn’t fight with […]

Welcome to a new challenge at Colour INKspiration! This pretty combination is the pick of crew member, Denita Wright-Smee. The photo was taken in New South Wales by a friend of her husband. Gorgeous photography! If you haven't played with us before, we are a group of Stampin' Up Demonstrators from the South Pacific. Challenges are shown and entered via our Facebook Group page. If you don't belong, and would like to, click here. Don't forget to answer the two easy questions you'll be asked when you ask to join the group. Each challenge, Top Picks and a winner are chosen by the crew and the winner offered a chance to Guest Design with us for a future challenge. If you don't have an exact challenge colour, feel free to replace it with whatever you have that's closest. Black, White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Sahara Sand and metallics are free colours, as are flesh toned Stampin' Blends. As it happens, this is the second card I made for this challenge. The first one is fine - and I might even post it later in the challenge - but yesterday my box of pre-orders from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue arrived and I just HAD to play! Out of the box came the Quiet Meadow bundle. The cling stamp set is fabulously eclectic: sentiments, flowers in different styles, splatter and a wonderful partially obscured text stamp. Some of them you can see in the over-stamping of the ink-smooshed background. The Meadow dies are absolute showstoppers: outlines of various flowers, just perfect as silhouettes or coloured to make realistic images, some butterflies and lovely labels that fit the sentiments. I couldn't wait to get cutting and stamping! We'd love to see what you make of these sunset colours. You can add your project, see the other entries and look at the Design Team inspiration by clicking here. If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. Quiet Meadow Silhouette Cards I have seen so many gorgeous cards made using this layout and I just had to make some as well! This is such a simple layout. I simply used Balmy Blue Card Stock as my card base. Either landscape or portrait orientation. Then I cut another piece of Balmy Blue C/S measuring 5 1/4" x 4". I embossed it using the Tasteful Textiles Embossing Folder and attached it to the card base. I die cut some Basic Black C/S scalloped circles using the Layering Circles Dies. Then I die cut circles using the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper and attached them to the Basic Black C/S scalloped circles. Attach them to the card using Dimensionals. Die cut some floral sprigs from the Quiet Meadow Dies using Basic Black C/S and on one card I also used a Balmy Blue C/S floral sprig. Attach them to the circles. For the sentiments, on one card I stamped directly onto the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper using Memento Black Ink and on the other card I added a separate sentiment strip. I used the Quiet Meadow Stamp for the sentiments. Add some Rhinestones if you would like and that's it! Simple right? The best part is you can earn the Simply Marbleous Designer Series Paper for free during our 2022 Sale-A-Bration promotion! For every $60.00 spent before taxes and shipping you can pick a FREE item from the SAB Catalogue. Check it out here! It ends February 28th, 2022 Sale-A-Bration Catalogue Try this layout for yourself! Quiet Meadow bundle Quiet Meadow all occasion cards ready for mailing When I was a kid, my family lived in a neighborhood that didn't have sidewalks, and several of the side streets were not paved. We lived on one of those unpaved streets, and what a treat it was to have such a playground of mud puddles, and wild flowers growing about. My absolute favorite was the 1st of May, a day where as children we would pick those wild flowers, put them in paper cones, and deliver them to our neighbors front porches. We would ring the bell, then run and hide....watching from behind a bush as the flowers were discovered and graciously accepted by the ladies that lived on our street. One of those wild flowers was a flower we called Bachelor Buttons. As soon as I saw the Quiet Meadow bundle, I spotted this flower die and I fell in love! All those childhood memories came flooding back. I wouldn't trade those memories for anything. I enjoyed every moment of creating this card. All of the stamps and dies used came from this bundle. Quiet Meadow is a new stamp and die set that is available tomorrow, May 4th, in the new 2021-2022 Annual catalog! I used 3 of the new In-colors that will also be available tomorrow, May 4th. Evening Evergreen Basic White Fresh Freesia Soft Succulent This card is a standard 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" with a top fold. The Soft Succulent mat layer is 4" x 5 1/4" The Basic White layer is 3 7/8" x 5 1/8" When stamping the background Basic White cardstock, I stamped off once for the Soft Succulent areas, and stamped off twice for the Fresh Freesia flowers. I suggest practicing on a scrap of paper till you accomplish the look that you want for your background. I sponged a little Soft Succulent ink on the stems of the Soft Succulent leafy stem piece, just to give it a bit of dept. To create the flower at the top of stem, I cut the first layer in Evening Evergreen, then cut just the flower portion again in the Fresh Freesia. Trimmed the base of the flower, and adhered it atop of the first layer of flower, giving the Fresh Freesia just a small pop out from the stem. I used White Crinkle Seam Binding for the bow, and colored it with the Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends. Tomorrow you will be able to purchase this Quiet Meadow bundle at my online store link Thank you for visiting my page today. Stay safe and be well, Hugs, Teah

Hello crafty friends! It's time for a brand-new round of challenges from the Paper Players! We have two new guest designers this year--Jolanda Johnstone and Cynthia Stevenson--so be sure to stop by the blog and give them some encouragement! Our first hostess of 2024 is Ann and she's chosen a perfect theme for us, one we all need--birthday celebrations! It gave me a chance to break out a beautiful stamp set from the mini catalog called Stippled Roses. I had my friend Robyn in mind when creating this card, as her favorite color is purple and she just celebrated her birthday! So here we go: It is so easy to create an impressive card with this gorgeous image! I stamped it in Highland Heather and diecut it with the matching dies. The background was also stamped in the same ink; I used the smaller rose and the vintage words from Quiet Meadow. They were stamped in Versamark ink so as to not overpower the florals. The sentiment is also from Stippled Roses, simply stamped on a narrow panel of Basic White and the edges were snipped by hand. On the inside, I stamped a sentiment from Timeless Arrangements and used a retired Ornate Frames die to cut the white panel as well as a Gorgeous Grape scrolled panel to highlight it: I look forward to using this set a lot more in the future! We all need birthday cards, so I hope you'll be inspired to play along with us at the Players this week! Stop by to see what the design team created as well as our new guest designers! Hope to see you in the gallery! A few more treats from Longwood: Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy your day and be blessed! Project Details—All Products SU! What a beautiful bouquet of flowers you can make using the Meadow Dies. I cut them out from white cardstock and colored them with Stampin’ Blends!
I do love the Meadow dies and wanted to have another go at water colouring them. It is actually really easy, not too messy and the effect is so pretty. I have created a short video for you showing how I did it using water colour paper, water painters and Stampin’ Up! ink refills. It's a good idea to use a silicone mat of some sort to keep the water and ink contained and a little kitchen towel on hand to mop up any excess and wipe the brushes off. I used the wide brush to wet the die cut before a
