~ Happy Sunday to you all! There’s a brand new Power Poppy digital stamp set being released today called Hops and Barley. ~ ~ Here is what Marcy had to say about the Hops and Barley set: Everywhere you turn these days, there seems to be an upstart craft brewery opening its doors, or a new "IPA" or "Seasonal Ale" to sample at the local pub. In the spirit of this beloved spirit, I've designed a botanical stamp set that celebrates two of the essential used in the brewing of beer: Hops and Barley. A few "hoppy" sentiments and a...
This weeks Featured Stamper 475 is Julie aka Jul012835. I choose this 3 Lucky Shamrocks card to case. I kept with the layout, shamrocks, colors and button. Changed the kraft to white, added texture to the background, a side panel and changed the image. Enjoy your week! This bouquet is so sweet and called Wish You Luck. I have colored the blooms with Copic markers and then cut around the image to pop up on dimensionals. Added some texture to the smaller panel using the Chicken Wire folder. Then a heart shaped die down the edge with a button on the top. Voila! Have a wonderful day!
Welcome to the Power Poppy blog! It’s Allison Cope here with another fun Inspire Me Monday! Today we’re all about experimenting! Yes… when you have all these fun stamps and products, sometimes you just have to experiment with them. You know, not having a goal of an end product makes playing around with your supplies fun. For today, I’m sharing a fun stamping with water technique. I’m going to use a few different kinds of ink and some watercolor paper. So grab a cuppa something fun and join me at my desk… Watch in HD on YouTube. For today’s experiments, here are a few close ups… For our video panel, we used the delicate “Sweet Memories” stamp set and some cool Distress Inks… For the above panel, I think I would have got a better image if I had allowed the water just to sit and sink into the watercolor paper. I think the image would have been much more clear! Live and learn I say!!! For our cool green & blue panel, we used the fun “Succulent Singles” stamp set… For the earthy panel, we used the whimsical “Artful Display” stamp set… For our bright and springy panel, we used the “Burst of Kindness” stamp set… And for our final panel, we used the amazing “Loving Tulips” stamp set. I think this panel came out the best of the five… Don't forget to check out the blog hop that Power Poppy has collaborated with My Sweet Petunia (maker of the MISTI tool). Click the image below to check out the start of our fun hop... there's even a PRIZE for leaving comments for each of the designers... Plus, don't forget to play along with the latest Power & Spark Challenge this month! It's a super fun one... three amazing sketches by the amazing talented Julie Koerber! Click here for more details! Thanks for joining me today! I hope you too get to experiment with your inks and stamping with water! Have a great week everyone! ~ Allison Cope ~ supplies: Paper: Strathmore (Bristol Smooth) Inks: Catherine Pooler Designs (Party Dress, Flirty Fushia, Something Blue, Aquatini, Lime Rickey, Fiesta Blue), Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord), Distress Oxides (Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Faded Jeans, Peeled Paint, Wilted Violet) Tools: MISTI, Mini MISTI
While I was cruising online looking for color combos for a Power Poppy image I just purchased, I ran across Passionate Paper Creations by Rhea. OMG, her coloring of this image is out of this world! I totally CASed her work and wish mine looked half as good as hers. I did the background first when normally I would save that for last because I'm so eager to dive right into the fun part :) I'm glad I did tho--it was a lot easier to fix boo boos...lots of boo boos. I'll be coloring this again when I have more blue colors. In this case, I used gray to tone it done some. I like the effect. I also love the sentiment from PTI's Meadow Greens which I got around Xmas. Is this really the first time I've used it?? I'm entering this in Fusion (bright flowers), Addicted to Stamps & More #136 Anything Goes, Darnell's NBUS #4 The Details: Power Poppy Countryside Bouquet, PTI Meadow Greens sentiment, VersaMark Onyx Black, Simon Says stitched rectangle die, Recollections 110lb white cardstock base, Hammermill 80lb color coverstock Copics Poppies: YR04, YR07, YR09, YR18, N3, N5 Cosmos: RV10, RV13, RV14, Y11, Y13, Y19 Salvia: R22, R24, R27 Background: B0000, B21, B95, N0 Greenery: YG61, YG63, YG67 (Poppies & Salvia), YG11, YG13, YG17 (Cosmos)
Greetings friends! We’ve just returned from a few weeks away, and I wanted to pop in before week’s end with a creation for this month’s Power & Spark Challenge, Inspired by Home. I think it’s a fun idea to look around you at what you already have, what speaks of home to you, and create from that inspiration. We’ve spent a lot of time doing different projects around our home this spring and summer that have freshened it up and made it more inspiring and comfortable for us all. So for this creation I chose to be inspired by our newly painted living room, and a new coffee table my husband made for us. He did such a beautiful job with it. So this is the lovely rustic table made by my husband. I love the deep stain, the criss cross pattern on the side (you can see a cozy blanket tucked in there). We have our old and comfy leather couch, some new pillows I sewed, and then the triptych canvases from Ikea of some pretty cherry blossoms. In my card I utilized the beautiful Planning for Magnolias stamp set because it has a similar feel to the branches on the canvases. I also used those same sepia tones with some W00, 02, 03, 05, 07 Copics. To mimic the criss-cross on the table and wood planking I used some strips of deep brown designer paper that has a brick or chevron pattern in it. Taking my cues from the texture of my pillows, I added the burlap and inked it a little with some Early Espresso ink (SU) and some white craft ink. Fresh and simple, and a wee bit rustic/beachy which is what our room looks like. So, we hope you join us in the Inspired By Home challenge too! Pick anything from your home to be inspired by, and then be sure to show us a picture of what you’re taking your cues from, and your creation! I am so excited to begin our Sneak Peeks at Power Poppy this month! You will be totally wowed by what we’re going to show you in the week ahead. It’s such a fabulous combination of polymer sets that I know you will love. Today’s set just *might* be my favourite for the month...but then again so *might* tomorrow’s set too! I might just be saying that every day :) But today’s set, Farmers Market is indeed totally awesome! It combines all the most beautiful autumn bounty that you might see at your local farmers market in a set. Marcy did a fabulous job! Here’s what Marcy told us about the inspiration behind this set, "Inspired by the bounty of the local market - the freshness of our earth's gifts, the saturated colors, the rustic baskets.... I think there is something really dear about the market that creates a coziness and sense of community. Folks standing in line to pick out the perfect heirloom tomato, or the newest variety of colorful cauliflower (did you know it comes in orange and purple and bright green, not just white?) The bounty we carry home in our arms - some of us wondering..."What the heck am I going to do with all of this?" but we buy it anyway! " Just LOOK at this wonderful apple box! So amazing right? It was so fun to colour, and just think of all the combinations you could put in there for the varieties of apples we have. I stamped the image on Xpress It Colouring paper in Memento Tuxedo Black and coloured with Copics. Granny Smith are some of my favourite apples so I had to include them in there. I wanted to include some rustic touches so the edges are sponged and sewn, and the background strips are embossed with woodgrain and distressed with ink. A bit of twill, ruffled cotton ribbon, twine and enamel dots finish it all off. Inside I distressed the sentiment panel to give it that woodgrain look as well. Here’s the Copics I used. And now you can jump on over and see what the rest of the Bloom Brigade playing with today’s set have to show off to you! Hello, Friends! Happy Friday! Ready for a little Friday Fun with Power Poppy? Today, I'm showcasing the Get Wool Soon digital stamp set and I colored it with my colored pencils. Take a look...Please click on the pictures to enlarge them. I printed the image onto a piece of 400 Series Strathmore Colored Pencil paper. It was my first time using this paper and I really liked it! It has just enough tooth to grip the pencil pigment and it made layering the pencil very easy. It also ran through my printer with no issues because it is paper...feels a little like lightweight construction paper. Another thing to note is the color of the paper. It's not snow white and I like that, too. In order to give the focal panel a bit more stability, I simply matted it with card stock. After I finished all the coloring, I die cut the image using a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Square die and while the panel was still in the die, I did a little ink blending using the Life Changing Brushes from Picket Fence Studios with Dusty Concord and Milled Lavender Distress Inks. I also added touches of sparkle by using a Clear Stardust glitter pen and some Tiny Twinkles. I used the heart die from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Journaling Card die set to get that sweet little sparkly heart on the mug and I added Nuvo Crystal Drops to the tea. The "Thinking of You" greeting is from the Spring Border Two digi set. That's another really cute set! I may have to color that one next! Then I finished off the inside of the card with a sentiment from the same digi set and I accented it with a few hearts that I punched out of purple glitter paper from American Crafts. And that is it! My card is finished and ready to be mailed. I thank you so much for stopping by today. Please visit the Power Poppy blog to see what my team mates have created to share with you. There's always LOTS of inspiration on the Power Poppy blog! Thanks again for the visit...have a wonderful weekend! Blessings~
In today’s post, I’ll be featuring a sneak peek of this month's tutorial bundle featuring three simple Peaceful Poppies card ideas. There's even a fun fold!
Hello Everyone! It was Father's Day here in Australia last Sunday and I made this card for my Dad, which I had planned to have up on my blog on Sunday - unfortunately my daughter and I have been very sick for about 4 days so it's only going up now as we are finally starting to recover. Dad loves anything to do with the water so I thought this Leaping Trout image would be perfect for him! As it's a digital, I've put it and the matching sentiment together from Leaping Trout and printed it onto some X-press It Blending Card and coloured with Copics (I would list the colours however I was starting to burn up with a fever of 39.5C/103F at that point and of course I didn't write them down - sorry about that!). It's been cut out with a stitched rectangle die. The base is made of Old Olive, white and some FabScraps Beach Bliss DP. Around this I've added some Hessian (Burlap) ribbon and then popped the trout image up on X-press It Foam Tape. To finish I've added some chocolate pearls to the top corner. Stamps - Leaping Trout (Power Poppy) Paper - X-press It Blending Card, White, Old Olive, FabScraps Beach Bliss DP Ink - Printer Accessories - Copics, Double Stitched Rectangle Die, Hessian Ribbon, Kaisercraft Chocolate Pearls, X-press It Foam Tape That's all from me today, I'm hoping next time you pop by I'll be feeling a lot better and hope you are healthier than me and inspired to stamp! :)
Hello and happy Friday! Today is the first of many cards I'm making for a friend. She says she needs a variety, so I started with one of the happiest cards to make -- birthday. Yellow and white is, for me, one of the happiest color combos, too, so, you see, there's happy all over this card! I used Power Poppy's So Grateful clear stamp set for the flowers and Dahlia XL for the sentiment. Coloring was done with Copic markers. My friend loves a dressed up card so I pulled out all the stops with pretty die cuts, an embossed background, a little bit of designer paper, and I even added a bow. As a final step I put Nuvo drops in the corners of the yellow die cut, which is always a little scary as I'm never sure if they're going to turn out okay. I will say for certain that the glossy drops are the easiest to apply. I don't know why. I'll wrap up all this sunshiny cheerfulness for now and list all the ingredients in the recipe below my signature. Wishing you a beautiful fall day! Stamps: Power Poppy "So Grateful" and "Dahlia XL" clear stamp sets Paper: Neenah 110 lb white, other white, yellow card stock, scrap BasicGrey June Bug designer paper Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Copics for coloring Accessories: Organdy ribbon, Nuvo Gloss Crystal Drops - Simply White, Cuttlebug Wicker Weave embossing folder, Marianne Designs Anja's Oval die, Memory Box Oval Master Frame (just used the oval that popped out when cut), Scotch brand foam mounting tape
Although I missed the Power Poppy challenge featuring this stamp, I managed to download the stamp while it was 50% off. Such beautiful renderings--love PP's images! A coworker's uncle passed unexpectedly so I kept the design very simple and used a deeper background color than I would normally. It also works to focus the eye on the image. Do you like the background paper's texture--sort of waffle? I picked some more up in white this weekend. It's perfect for interest but not too much. The Details: Power Poppy Sunflower Power, Clearly Besotted Thinking of You sentiment, PTI 140lb white cardstock base, Esse brown cardstock (I think), Copic E17, E34, E39, E59 YG13 (center), Y11, Y15, Y18, Y19, Y24, Y27 (sunflower), YG00, G21, G24, G28, YG13 (greenery), B0000 (background), VersaFine Onyx Black, Simon Says stitched rectangle die I'm entering this in Addicted to Stamps & More #159 CAS, Simon Says Anything Goes, Shopping Our Stash #216 Splish Splash
Good Morning Monday! It’s Christine here bringing you a sunshiney tutorial to start off your week. I wanted to give you tips on how to take your Copic colouring to the next level using highlight and depth. I think it’s always effective to visually compare colouring so you can pick out what makes a difference in the overall outcome. Today I’m comparing 3 different ways of colouring this beautiful image from Spice it Up; then how to “step-up” your realism with some simple colouring steps. First we’re going to look at what I call “Flat Stanley”. I wanted to pick a name that would be memorable to you :) This would be a very limited marker colouring. I’ve only used the above 7 colours to give Flat Stanley colouring. Here’s Flat Stanley above. All I’ve done here is use single marker colouring to fill in the image. There actually IS a little depth added but it’s accomplished by adding a second layer of the same colour over the first. So, in the fruit I’ve added a second layer of YR15 in the bottom right of each orange. The light source is coming from the top left, so that only has one layer of colour, but overall, it’s pretty flat looking. I don’t really like this one at all. I know there are ways we can step this up to give the design much more realism and pop. In the above picture Flat Stanley (FS) is on top. And my second design is below. Here you can see I’ve added depth in the bottom right of each orange using some deeper YR colours. You can also see that I’ve left circles in the top left of each orange uncoloured. These will be my highlighted areas. By leaving them uncoloured until the very last, no matter what marker I use at the end to colour those highlighted areas in, they will remain the lightest and that will achieve the look of highlight on the fruit. What a difference it already makes in the overall look of the oranges when you compare the two designs, right? Here I’ve shown the additional markers I used to achieve this effect: YR16, YR18, YR09. You can also see that I’ve added YR20 to the highlighted areas so it blends into the orange better, but still looks very highlighted, like the light is reflecting off of that part of the fruit. I often use a very light marker within the colour family to soften the highlights. Now we’ll move on to the greens. On Flat Stanley, I used G40 alone, but on the second design I’ve also added in G43 and G46. You can see that the leaves look so much more realistic with the addition of depth and shadow. Dark always receeds (so it looks deeper or shadowed) and light always advances (so it looks closer to you or highlighted). In this picture you can see the finished colouring compared between Flat Stanley and the second design. It makes a big difference in how real and how inviting the image looks. I would say that I colour images in the second style about 50% of the time. I’m quite happy with how it looks. But what if you wanted to really make something look even more special and really step it up? Good thing you asked....let’s move on! As you can now we’re comparing image 2 and 3. In the #2 example above, I’ve given the fruit as much depth as I can give them using YR markers. The YR09 that is in the bottom right of the fruit in example 2 is as saturated and deep of a colour for YR markers as I have. It wouldn’t matter how many layers of YR09 I’d add, it would look the same. So, to give it the oranges the depth that you can see in the #3 example, I’ve taken my T2 marker and added in that warm grey tone on the bottom right of all the fruit (I chose a warmer grey because of the warm tones in the YR’s). You wouldn’t think it would work right? You’d think it would just muddy the orange, but it looks so much more realistic to what you’d see in real life. In all items in nature there are tones from other sides of the colour wheel that your eye sees, but you just don’t identify them as different. I chose a T2 marker so it would be a darker effect but not such a great contrast. If you were colouring something that had really sharp contrasts you could use a T4 or darker, but that’s not the look we’re going for here. We still want it to blend nicely. If you’re colouring in with a neutral marker (C, N, T or W Copics) and the design looks more grey than you’d like, just come back with your YR18 or YR09 and add another layer on top to “orange” it up a bit. That would work for anything you’re colouring, just go back to the colour family you’re using and give it some more of that colour. Make sense? Now for the leaves! I could use a T2 in these as well, but I wanted to show you what some other colours used for depth look like. Often in leaves I’ll use a colour from the BV family (BV00 or BV02) to add shadow and depth to the greens. I really like how it looks. In the leaves above I’ve also added YG00 into some of the highlighted areas where they might be getting direct light, and then at the very end added a wee bit of BG11 to a few of the shadowed areas too. BG and G look nice together. Can you pick out the differences between image 2 and the fruit and leaves in image 3? Here are both images 2 and 3 completely coloured. Image 2 is still great, but I really like how stepped up image 3 is. If you click on these photos you should be able to get an even bigger picture that will help you see the differences. And now here are all three images together. Can you see what a contrast there is between the designs, and how much of a change it is from Flat Stanley? Oh Flat Stanley, I can hardly stand to look at you! I’ll be fixing him up before it goes to a completed card. Here are the designs put into cards. As I said, I could hardly stand Flat Stanley the way he was so I used my blender pen to add highlights to the fruit and then coloured in more depth with my other markers. Can you tell which card is which? Here is the transformed Flat Stanley. Doesn’t he look better? You can see the highlights are never as effective when done with a blender pen, but it still helps in the overall design. Here is Design #2. And finally Design #3. I hope you’ve enjoyed this little depth and highlight comparison and that it encourages you to experiment with your markers in new ways! Thanks for joining me today! Christine
Hello Power Poppy Friends! Today I am bringing you Berry It Digital Stamp. I couldn't make the August 25th post to release this image so I thought I would share it with you on my monthly inspiration post with a little coloring tip. This months tip: Don't be afraid to use grays to make your colors deeper and more rich looking. It helps to give more dimension and contrast to your projects. Here is how I teach to use grays; When I've colored a few berries with the regular colors, I decided where I want to make RV99 (in this case) darker. I then added N7 to that area and immediately went over it with RV69. These two colors will blend together on the paper making the top color a darker shade and you won't see the gray. Then I will blend it out with the sequence of colors, this is done lightly. Once you get the hang of it you can just start by adding gray before your darkest color and blending out from there. I used N gray because I didn't want any blue or brown undertones. I only do this with Copic XPress Paper as it allows me more time to work with my coloring and has less of a chance of looking "muddy" with more ink added. I will be back next month for more coloring tips! Rhea
Happy Friday y'all!! It's a great day to be sharing some inspiration, don't you think? And what better way than with some Power Poppy images! Today I went over to my dark side a bit. I colored my images, from the Power Poppy Clear Stamp Set Party Time, with only two Copic color families: Black and Turquoise. Now, I'm getting up there in years, so I know a lot of people celebrating the birthday milestones that are "a bit up there" if you know what I mean. So I thought it would be fun to color my packages and cake dark with a pop of color...so it's not too morbid after all. ;) I even pulled a "Cindy Lawrence" and finished off the inside of my card. She always goes above and beyond, and since I admire her so much, I thought it was about time I did too. Besides, I loved the sentiment "Bring it On" and wanted to use it with this color scheme...like you're saying..."Turning 50?...Bring it On"!!!! Lastly, I added some Chrome Pearl Pen dots to my cake to make them look like edible candy additions. That's it for me y'all!! Now, if you haven't already, check out what my fellow Bloom Brigaders have to share: Christine Okken Julie Koerber Katie Sims Stacy Morgan Tosha Leyendekker---you are here Copics: B06, B04, B02, B00, T8, T6, T4, T2, T0 Thanks for dropping by today! Check me out! All on time and everything! I am hoping that by the end of February I can be back to my normal schedule and posting at least weekly. My husband is keeping a close eye on me so that I don't over do it! For those of you just joining me, I will be coloring one image each month, using the Power Poppy digital flower images, found HERE. If you missed any of the previous projects, see the links at the end of the post. February's project is so special to me, because tulips are my favorite spring flower! I do not have tulips in my yard or garden because they don't "winter" here. Since it's not cold enough for them to have a dormant time, the only way to keep tulips is to dig them up and put them in cold storage, then replant them. Gloria ain't got time for that! I could just buy pots of them, but...instead my husband brings me bunches of cut tulips all during the spring, starting with my birthday on February 2nd! I love this bouquet of various colors of tulips, which inspired my coloring. I love these colors together, but it was hard to find the correct pinks! I find Copic pinks very difficult to blend. This combo turned out very nice, with lots of shadow and highlight. I usually have a hard time leaving enough highlight, but I was careful with the pinks to do so! The Tulips in Hobnail Pitcher digital stamp set I used for my February image is currently a $6 download. This image is also part of a clear set called Loving Tulips. I actually purchased this image a few years ago, and colored it once before to make a card, which you can see HERE. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created my panel at about 5 1/4" x 5 1/4". I rotated the image slightly and sized it at approximately 4 1/4" wide. I ended up having to size this guy a few times to make it all fit into my square die. The "February" sticking out there threw a monkey wrench into the works! The finished panel is 6 1/8" x 6 1/8". I have used a stitched square die to cut out the main image panel (which measures 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"). My plan is to display each monthly image at my desk, as shown below. I am using "Great Vibes" as my font, which I sized at about 45pt. I printed the panel onto Hammermill 100# cardstock with my Epson ET-3700 using black ink. (So far, I have had excellent results using Copics with this printer ink and paper combination.) My image is colored with a combination of Copic Markers and Prismacolor Pencils. I first lay down the Copic markers, and then go back and add depth and highlight with the pencils. I finish with more highlights using a white pencil or a gel pen. You probably know that tulips rival roses for the sheer number of colors and styles in which they bloom! I think pretty much any color you can think of would be fine! I chose a bright pink, pale yellow, and a peachy orange for my bouquet. Tulips also have lovely green leaves and stems. I wanted the pitcher to look like dingy pottery, something old and well loved. Here are the color combinations I have used for the finished project (listed in this order: Copics, then Prismacolor Pencils by name): Pink: R39, RV19, RV17, RV10, RV000; Crimson Lake, Process Red, White Orange: YR16, YR14, E93, E01; Cadmium Orange Hue, Salmon Pink, White Yellow: Y15, Y13, Y11, Y00; Canary, White Leaves: YG01, G99, G46, G43, G29; Chartreuse, Green Ocher Jug: C05, C03, C01, BG78, BG75, BG72, BG70, Y26, E81; 70% Cool Grey Background: W03, W01, W00, B000, B000), Colorless blender My cardstock panels are black, dark pink, and pale pink. I added a twine and a button, plus some enamel dots for decoration. I started this project series back in September 2018. (There is a bit of August peeking out of the pile...sneaky peeky! You will have to wait for it!!!) If you missed any projects click the month below. January SEPTEMBER. OCTOBER. NOVEMBER. DECEMBER Thanks for stopping by! I will have a new image Friday, March 1st! Hope everyone is having a grand day as always. I'm entering this card in the Power Poppy August challenge. https://powerpoppy.blogspot.com/2017/08/august-challenge-mix-and-match.html The challenge was to pair two different digital images or two different clear stamp images or go crazy and blend digital and clear images. Well, I just had to go crazy so I blended three of their fabulous images. For my Digital image I used the lovely Gerbera Daisies from Power Poppyhttps://powerpoppy.com/collections/digital-stamps/products/gerbera-daisies; my sentiment is from the Lavender clear stamp set https://powerpoppy.com/collections/clear-stamps/products/lavender; and the (as I adoringly refer to them as) "fuzzy balls" are from the Bough Wow Wow clear stamp set https://powerpoppy.com/collections/clear-stamps/products/bough-wow-wow. I've added each of the links so you don't have to search to find these awesome images! The base of my card came from the Spellbinders Grand Calibur Labels 23. I tried to link this one, but I fear this might be a discontinued die from SpellBinders. The inner stitched mat is from Lil' Inkers Rounded Stitched Rectangles.https://www.lilinkerdesigns.com/stitched-mats-rounded-rectangles/ I used Reflections Green & White Chevron paper. Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad. Copics used: Red flower: R20, R22, R27, R89 Orange flower: YR02, YR04, YR07, YR09, E99 Yellow flower: Y00, Y02, Y04, Y06, Y17, YR27, E97 Stems: YG11, YG13, YG17 A few more pictures of my card. Hello there my Power Poppy Peeps! It's Mindy from My Creative Scoop and I have a new tutorial to share with you on this Inspire Me Monday! I'm using this adorable Layered Cake Digi from Power Poppy I had so much my fun coloring this image and I absolutely love the way that it came out! Coloring this cake is all about the texture and shading. I literally dotted the entire time I was coloring so I could get the cake texture right. I know so many people have trouble with shading and shadowing but coloring any Power Poppy Image is already helping with where to add those shadows. If you look closely on the photo below there are tiny lines and dots to show you were to add all those shadows. Ok, let's get on with the tutorial you can use any Copic Colors you'd like but here's the colors I'm using. E43, E42, E41, E25, R85, R81, V12, V15, V0000, B00, B93, B95, BG11, BG13, BG18 Y21, Y26, G20, G24. You will repeat the next couple steps for each different color and layer of the cake, unless you choose to keep the layers all the same. I hope you enjoyed this month's coloring with me! I also wanted to share with you that my Mother's Day Coloring Class featuring Power Poppy's Hellebore's Digi Stamp is now available for a limited time. You can sign up today for lifetime access to the course! Sign up here! Have a wonderful day! ♥ Mindy MyCreativeScoop.com

Hey there - happy Inspire Me Monday! I’ve got a fun project to share today that I hinted at on my blog a few weeks ago - you might remember if you were here for the Camellia release hop! My project today is a Screen Divider Card - this is a tutorial from Splitcoaststampers that we featured last month during our Holiday Tutorial Blitz, but it's a great card for any occasion. The instructions and measurements are all available at the link above. For this version, I wanted to use a single colored image to cover all 4 panels - the panels can be cut and decorated separately, but aren't we all looking for ways to cut corners and speed things up? This was a great way to color the panels all at once, and the larger Camellias were much easier to color in. Even at this size, the detail is incredible! I set the margins to 0" and resized the Camellia image to 9.34" x 6.37". (Those measurements don't have to be precise! Just somewhere around there will give you the size needed for this project.) NOTE: Be sure to set your printer settings for borderless printing - otherwise, you'll have a quarter-inch white border around the edge. The piece I needed for my screen divider panels is 4" x 8.5", so I trimmed across at 4" and then cut the rest of my sheet into card front sized panels and created two other cards. Before coloring with markers, I used a glaze pen to protect the tiny stamens of the flowers. The glaze pen acts as a resist medium, even with alcohol markers. After coloring, I added some deeper shading with a pencil. My panel was cut into 4 equal pieces, 2-1/8" wide. I sponged the edges of each panel lightly so that each one seemed like its own design. Here's a little tip for cutting the legs of the screen divider card - I centered and stuck my die to the back side of a Post-It note. the edges of the note helped me to position the die right where I wanted on the edge of the card each time. I folded the card in half and cut the center panels first, then did the outer panels. I always score around the edges of each panel for a more finished look. Here's a closer look at my finished creation! I hope this gives you some ideas for using digital stamps in a larger format! These little cards make beautiful decorations as well. Happy holidays to you!
Hi there! Hope you survived your Monday! I have a card to share that was made for this week's sketch challenge at Splitcoaststampers. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ I've had the Pleasant Poppy stamp for a while but have not used it until this weekend. I watercolored two cards, one with an Aquapainter and one with a blender pen, to have fun with the different watercolor methods. I used identical colors on both cards. The one on the left was colored with an Aquapainter, the one on the right the blender pen. Using the blender pen definitely produced a brighter result, as you can see with the card on the right (both backgrounds were colored in Pool Party with an Aquapainter as it was easier to spread and get a lighter result). This first card will be one of a group of 4 watercolor cards I am giving a friend for her birthday. A sentiment was not added in order to give her flexibility as to how she wants to use it and it is also pretty flat so it's easy to mail (she sends alot of cards). The second card sports a sentiment that was embossed with black embossing powder on a banner of vellum card stock that was anchored with a Candy Dot on each side. The embossing didn't come out as black as I was hoping, but it still did the job of masking a flower that had a wee coloring woops that was unrepairable. Gotta love that! Thanks for taking time to drop by and I would love to hear from you if you have time to leave a comment! I hope the reset of your week is splendid! Hugs, Stef Product details: Stamps: Pleasant Poppies, Sweet Essentials Paper: Pool Party Core'dinations, Basic Black, Poppy Parade, Vellum, Watercolor, Everyday Enchantment dsp Ink: Jet Black Stazon, Pool Party, Poppy Parade, Old Olive, Versamark Other: Black Stampin' Embossing Powder, Subtles Candy Dots, Black Baker's Twine, Pretty Prints embossing folder, Aquapainter, Blender Pen
Hello Crafty Friends Welcome to the first One Stamp At A Time Blog Hop for 2020. Yay!!!! To kick off the New Year we are showcasing some of the fantastic products available in the new Mini Catalogue. Our theme for January is Poppies/Paris/Purses - all of which can be found in the new catalogue. My creations today use the Poppy Moments Dies but I haven't used them to create Poppies. For the first two cards, I decided to pair the die cuts with some Gold and Black striped DSP. The Gold Foil striped DSP is from the Golden Honey DSP Pack which can be earned FREE during Sale-A-Bration. There are 12 sheets of gorgeous patterns to chose from and has been designed to pair with the Honey Bee Bundle (which is also available in the Mini Catalogue). However, true to my style I went outside the norm and chose to team different products from different bundles. To tie the floral die cuts in with the bold striped pattern, gold foil die cuts and heat embossed sentiments have been used along with glimmer paper and sequins. Being a huge fan of texture I was excited to see so many new embossing folders in the mini catalogue and couldn't resist adding another to my collection. The final card I have to share today uses the Parisian Flourish 3D Embossing Folder to create the background. That is all from me today. Be sure to keep hopping through the Blog Hop for loads more inspiring ideas and projects shared by the talented One Stamp At A Time Design Team.
