I love a challenge, and I'll admit the Power of Hope stamp set is a bit of one for me! I was pleasantly surprised when the card ideas started flowing easily once I sat down. I enjoyed using the bright red and working on clean, architectural lines and details. TIP: I stamped a double-decker temple/pagoda on this one--stamp the lower one first, then use the corner of a post-it note to roughly mask off the center point. Position the second pagoda above it so the legs come down on the roof of the first one. Fun! I used the lovely...

Hello, Crafters. I hope you’ve had a great weekend, and if you’re in the UK I hope you haven’t been too adversely affected by Storm Ciara. Here in the south, we haven’t been too badly affected, but in some parts of the country, there has been some horrendous flooding. My thoughts and prayers are very ... Welcome to the ICS January Blog Hop as we celebrate the New Year with the new 2020 Sale-a-bration Catalog. You will be visiting with Stampin' Up! Demonstrators as we share projects created with a variety of products you can earn Free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration, which runs from January 3rd to March 31st, 2020. For my card design, I chose to use the beautiful Power of Hope Bundle (item #152318) to create this pretty card. I love that this bundle has a versatile stamp set and a wonderfully textured embossing folder. For this card, I chose to focus on just the stamp set but you can see the texture of the Stone 3D embossing folder that I used in this post to create a completely different type of card. I love the Oriental feel to this stamp set and I was able to use several of the images as well as one of the sentiments to create this card design. I started with a Purple Posy card base and added a layer of Thick Whisper White to create the background design for this card. I used one of the Stitched Nested Labels Dies (item #149638) to cut an opening in the Thick Whisper White cardstock and I used the label shape for the focal design. To create the background, I stamped the tree image randomly all over the Thick Whisper White cardstock with Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Gold embossing powder. I them used Sponge Daubers to apply Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo and Petal Pink Classic ink to create a soft background. I love the way the embossed gold trees create a delicate filigree look to the background. For the focal image, I stamped the Geisha image using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with Gold embossing powder to coordinate with the background. I colored the image and ground using Stampin' Blends Markers. To create the soft sky, I lightly sponged the Whisper White cardstock with Petal Pink Classic ink using a Sponge Dauber. To assemble the card, I attached the focal image to the card base using Snail Adhesive, making sure it lines up inside the opening of the background layer. Next, I attached the background layer to the card base with Stampin' Dimensionals, carefully lining it up over the focal image. To create the sentiment, I heat embossed the image with Gold embossing powder onto Purple Posy cardstock and die cut it with one of the smaller dies from the Ornate Frames Dies (item #150664) to create the label. I attached the label to the background with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals. To complete the card design, I added gold sequins from the Peaceful Poppies Sequins (item #151325), that can be found in the January-June 2020 Mini Catalog, using Mini Glue Dots to attach them to the background of the card. There are so many wonderful possibilities available with this amazing bundle that you can earn Free with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration, which starts January 3rd and ends March 31st. I hope that my card design helps inspire you to create your own beautiful projects with these exclusive new products. A Sale-a-Bration Celebration is long overdue! Every day this week I will be showcasing projects featuring at least one Sale-a-Bration product. I don't have them all so there will be some repeats, but hopefully they will give you some ideas for how to use your lovely free gifts. Today I want to show you the much-overlooked Power of Hope. This is one of those items which you can earn with a £90 spend because you not only get the beautiful stamp set but the lovely Stone Embossing folder, too. I will be showcasing the folder on another project later in the week. I hope you like this project because it was actually the LEAST popular at my Stampy Buffet at the weekend! Only ONE person chose to make it. Admittedly it's a bit of a fiddly project, with die-cutting, heat embossing and fussy cutting, but I really like it and thought the ladies would relish the opportunity to use the set without spending £90 to get it! You never can tell with my ladies... You can use the tree stamp to create a pretty border by just stamping with the top of the branches. This makes the tree image so much more versatile. The Sale-a-Bration run-down Sale-a-Bration runs until 31st March and has three strands: Customers earn a free product with a minimum £45 order. Higher value products are available if you spend £90, or you can choose two of the standard free gifts. Hosts get all their standard free gifts PLUS if their party reaches £275, they get the cute Little Ladybug stamp set, too! New demonstrators get the best deal of all... a £99 Starter Kit containing £130 of craft supplies of their choice (as normal) PLUS a cute mini trimmer, a 6"x6" sampler pack of Designer Series Paper AND an additional stamp set of their choice. And once you’re a demonstrator, you get a discount on everything AND all the benefits that customers and hosts receive, too!

This Power of Hope good luck card uses the stamp set from the Sale-a-bration bundle, against a background of Peaceful Poppies DSP.
Bit late posting tonight. OH is poorly so its been a very busy day. I wanted to use the Power of Hope stamp set to make a collection of cards, but it is proving to be slow progress, I keep getting side tracked to other things. One being tee pee style cards. Watch out there will be quite a few more over the coming weeks. I don't have anything else in my collection of stamps, which is vast, quite like this power of hope set, plus I love the sentiment. That sentiment would make a lovely centre piece to a 3D framed piece of work. Here are the other sides:- This is what it looks like when flat, and it does fold up small enough to fit in a standard envelop. The card is based on 3 - 4"squares. Very easy to make. The worse part is when you realise you velcro dots and you have no idea where they are. The Power of Hope stamp set is available free with £90 spend. It also comes with an embossing folder which I will use later in the week. 7 cling stamps - 4 images and 3 sentiments My Online shop please use this hostess code V4U2ZD9Y if you place an order over £25 . I will send you 1/2 a pack of the Peaceful Poppies elements. Happy crafting k x

Sometimes I overthink the whole handmade card process. I browse the internet, and see all the beautiful handmade cards with multiple layers, fancy techniques, and lots of bling. I know I'm not alone, and that many of you feel the same way. But here's the truth...any card that is handmade from the heart is fabulous to the recipient. Now I won't lie. I love to make fancy cards now, and then, but sometimes less is more. I think that's the case with these pretty notecards. My card bases are from the Paper Pumpkin Gift Of Fall Add On Cards and Envelopes. You get 24 cards with matching envelopes for $10. Hi! Welcome to the new Art With Heart Monthly Creative Showcase! This month the Art With Heart Team are featuring Monochromatic cards, that is cards that only use different shades of the same colour. This is a great opportunity for us to demonstrate the wonderful range of Stampin’ Up! colours across our inks, papers and embellishments that can be combined to produce the amazing monochromatic samples we have to share with you. I actually found it quite difficult to narrow down which colour I was going to use! There are so many fabulous colours to choose from in Stampin' Up!'s colour families. In the end I went with Bermuda Bay and Pool Party, mostly because of this sheet of DSP in the Lily Impressions pack - why have I not played with this paper sooner??? I love how it looks like paint smeared on a canvas, and best of all, it is free with a qualifying order during Sale-A-Bration! I stamped the lady and lanterns from Power Of Hope in Memento ink and coloured them with my Bermuda Bay and Pool Party Stampin' Blends. I didn't colour the lanterns or umbrella much - just a quick swipe of Light Pool Part in key places. I used another Sale-A-Bration freebie to decorate the card - some Bermuda Bay sequins from the Metallic Baker's Twine and Sequins Combo Pack. The sentiment is from Label Me Bold, stamped in Bermuda Bay. In order to get the white streaks in the DSP in the spot I wanted on my card, I had to crop a wide strip from the DSP first. Waste not, want not, I used it on the inside of my card! It's wider than I'd usually crop the paper, so I chose not to add a sentiment to leave enough room for writing. That's all from me, now you're off to see what the wonderful Kate Morgan has made. What colour has she chosen? We don't see each other's cards until we do the hop, so it's a surprise for us too! Bye for now, Tina If you have a broken link or have come to this blog hop midway, you can view all the participants below: Rebecca Jacovou Tina Gillespie Kate Morgan Sharon Davern Vicki Boucher Catherine Proctor Rachel Woollard Andrea Sargent Caroline Manwaring Claire Daly Michele Taylor
