Geranium cinereum 'Ballerina' of Ooievaarsbek is een wintergroene vaste plant met een compacte bodembedekkende habitus. De grijsgroene bladeren zijn diepgelobd en lichtjes komvormig. Deze geranium bloeit rijkelijk van juni tot september met kleine lilaroze, donker geaderde bloemen. De plant houdt van een standplaats half in de schaduw of in de zon. In de volle schaduw kan deze plant ook groeien. Deze Geranium is tevreden met iedere goed doorlaatbare vruchtbare grondsoort. Om de bloeiperiode te verlengen is het belangrijk regelmatig de uitgebloeide bloemen te verwijderen. Ooievaarsbek is goed winterhard, zeewind tolerant en luchtvervuiling bestendig. Geraniums zijn ook goede bijen- en vlinderplanten.
Generally, annual geraniums do best in areas that have at least 6 hours of sunlight a day. Ivy geraniums are also an annual, but this variety enjoys light shade. When it comes to perennial geraniums, you need to know which exact variety you have, as some prefer full sun and others prefer part shade.

Geranium 'blue sunrise' is een bladverliezende (hybride ) ooievaarsbek met een breedgespreide, tapijtvormende habitus. De bladeren zijn geelgroen, vijflobbig en kleuren mooi rood in de herfst. Deze geranium bloeit van juli tot oktober met lilablauwe bloemen, die decoratief donker geaderd zijn. De plant houdt van een standplaats in de halfschaduw of zon, maar doet het ook in de volle schaduw en is tevreden met iedere goed doorlaatbare niet té vruchtbare grondsoort. Om de bloeiperiode te verlengen is het belangrijk regelmatig de uitgebloeide bloemen te verwijderen. Ooievaarsbek is goed winterhard, zeewind tolerant en eens gevestigd ook redelijk droogtetolerant. Geraniums zijn ook goede bijen en vlinderplanten en redelijk luchtverontreiniging tolerant.
De Geranium cantabrigiense 'Biokovo' is een half wintergroene bodembedekkende plant. De Geranium cantabrigiense 'Biokovo' vormt een dicht tapijt. Het liefste een zonnige- halfschaduw standplaats maar niet te droog. Deze Geranium heeft een uitbundige bloeiwijze in de periode mei - juli met wit met lichtroze bloemen. De hoogte van de Geranium cantabrigiense 'Biokovo' wordt uiteindelijk 20 cm. In het najaar verkleurt het blad van de Geranium cantabrigiense 'Biokovo' naar herfstachtig rood.Let op: Maten in centimeters zijn een indicatie en kunnen per seizoen veranderen i.v.m. snoei, achtergebleven groei door het weer of een andere groeiwijze. Niet wintergroene planten sterven af en komen pas in het voorjaar weer op.

Ooievaarsbek (Geranium Rozanne) is een langbloeiende variant van de Geraniums. De grote blauwe bloemen hebben een wit centrum. De plant is erg goed te gebruiken als bodembedekker, het is een sterke borderplant die goed kan worden gecombineerd met andere vaste planten. De Ooievaarsbek (Geranium Rozanne) bloeit door tot aan de vorst, steeds opnieuw verschijnen er nieuwe bloemen. De oude kunnen worden weggeknipt. De plant heeft een voorkeur voor zon of half schaduw en een goed waterdoorlatende bodem. Bij het aanplanten kun je het beste aanplantgrond gebruiken.
