Hello and welcome to my blog. For today's card, I grabbed my Positive Thoughts stamps and the coordinating Nature's Thoughts dies and began creating. The card I thought I was going to make was a clean and simple card with lots of white space. Not quite how it turned out, but I am delighted with the finished card. There are lots of layers and plenty of texture. By happy coincidence, my first card fitted with one of this week's lines on the Tic Tac Toe Challenge TTTC051. I have used a bow, flowers and frames. The colours I have used are Soft Sea Foam, Pear Pizzazz and Basic Grey. There is also a little bit of Whisper White, some embossed Vellum and some Wink of Stella on the petals. I knew that I wanted to use the frame from the Nature's Thoughts dies because I love the fancy stitched detail around the edge. I added a layer of Soft Sea Foam card and some Vellum, embossed with the Parisian Flourish folder, to the frame before adding a selection of leaves and flowers. I love the 3-d finish of the small flowers - you just have to push up the spikes from behind. To complete the card I added a couple of small die cut butterflies and some silver metallic pearls. The Pear Pizzazz layer is over stamped using the leaf stamp to create a tone on tone background. The subtle colour is achieved by stamping off onto scrap paper first. In turn, this sits on a skinny Basic Grey layer on the Soft Sea Foam card layer. Crafting was a fabulous distraction from the wind and rain that was raging outside and once I had started I couldn't stop. So, I made another card. The elements are very similar, and you can tell that I made them one after the other but my second card introduces some Flirty Flamingo for a pop of colour and I have used the Stitched So Sweetly dies as an alternative frame. The scalloped edges nest beautifully. Again, I've used the Parisian Flourish folder and there is tone on tone background stamping on the Pear Pizzazz card base. I really couldn't stop, so I made another! This time I have used splatters from my Wink of Stella glitter pen to enhance the background. Here are my three cards together! I hope you like them. Thankfully, the weather seems to have calmed down a bit now! Thank you for visiting my blog today and if you want to purchase the items used for them, or any other supplies, please take a look in my online Stampin' Up! shop. Hello & welcome. Today's share is my Design Team project for this week's Just Add Ink's inspiration challenge. I took my inspiration from the pretty wreath and its shades of mainly green and white and chose to use create my own wreath. I used the pretty fern image in the Positive Thoughts stamp set and added a whimsical touch with butterflies instead of flowers. Here's how it turned out. I started by repeatedly stamping the fern using Soft Succulent ink to create a wreath shape, stamping off images in between to create colour variation. To keep the centre of the wreath white, I cut a circle of white (Layering Circles dies) then glued it onto the stamped panel. I stamped a pile of butterflies (also from Positive Thoughts) in mint macaron and soft sea foam ink using my Stamparatus. Using the Stamparatus enabled me to stamp the same image multiple times to get a range of shades with the same ink pads. I also coloured a few images with a Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends marker. The pretty iridescent rhinestones add lovely colour changing shine. The sentiment is from the fun Sentimental Swirls stamp set. It has lots of great everyday sentiments like this one. Inside I've included a couple more ferns and butterflies, leaving space for a personal message. So that's my take on the Just Add Ink challenge. I hope you like it or that it's given you more ideas. This clean and simple Positive Thoughts greeting card showcases a Stampin' Up!'s rubber stamp set with a sponging technique.
Earlier this week I held one of my monthly Papercrafting Classes. The theme was Bugs, Beasts and Butterflies and the attendees all made 6 cards. The first was a butterfly card using the Positive Thoughts Stamp Set and co-ordinating Nature’s Thoughts dies. This combines Rococo Rose and Rich Razzleberry (a good tongue twister!) with Whisper […]

Hi everyone. Today I am sharing a card made with the new Positive Thoughts Stamp set. I love the images in this set, perfect for a layered card, and the sentiments are nice to add to my collection. They are great for a thinking of you card but also for when you want to send a card to someone who is maybe hurting but not quite in need of a sympathy card. I added extra depth to the images by first stamping with a lighter color and then adding a darker tone on top with sponges. With the butterfly, I added some extra color with markers. Here is a little sneak peek for you, the new Natures Thoughts Dies. These will be released on February 4th as part of a collection of coordinating products that work with spring mini catalog products and sale-a-bration products. I loved this stamp set, but I love them even more with this new die collection!! I made a how to video that shows you how to make this card step by step. Shop with me! I would love to be your demonstrator. I always send a hand stamped thank you card and sometimes more with a larger order, and I share my Stampin' Rewards with you through my Frequent Buyer Rewards! Tomorrow the month-long sale on several of Stampin' Up!'s paper packs will end. One of the fabulous packs on offer is the In Good Taste Designer Series Paper. If you don't already own it, don't miss the chance to purchase it at 15% off! I have used a woodgrain-patterned piece, and a pink "carpet"-looking piece, on today's card. The pink in this pack is supposedly Rococo Rose, but I find this paper is much closer in colour to Blushing Bride, so that is the pink of my choice. Using my Positive Thoughts stamp set, I inked up the larger flower in Blushing Bride ink, spritzed the stamp with water, then stamped it on Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I did this three times, getting a slightly different look each time. When the ink was dry, I flicked the brush end of my Dark Rococo Rose Stampin' Blends marker against the inside of the marker lid, to create splatters over the stamped flowers. I used the same process for the fern fronds, inking them in Crumb Cake ink, then spritzing with water before stamping onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I added splatters to those pieces with my Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends marker. To create the flower centres, I inked up the larger flower stamp with Crumb Cake ink, spritzed it, then stamped onto Fluid 100 Watercolor Paper. I repeated this process three times, aiming for some "open", uninked space, as I like the irregular look. Once the ink was dry, I added some splatters with the Dark Crumb Cake Stampin' Blends marker, and die-cut the pieces with the small flower die. A tiny pearl was added to each flower centre. The middle flower is raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals. A detail that doesn't show up too clearly in the photographs, is the Square Vellum Doily that I placed behind the fern fronds. It fits nicely on the pink paper panel, and adds a subtle "landing place" for the floral arrangement. The sentiment is from Gorgeous Posies, and is stamped on a strip of Very Vanilla card, in Blushing Bride ink. I used my Stamparatus, to allow me to overstamp the image a few times, so it was nice and dark. All of the products used to make this card are listed below, and are available to purchase from my online store. If you live in Australia, and would like to shop with me for your Stampin' Up! supplies, just click on any of the thumbnail images below to get to my store.
