Hello friends. Back with a fun post today using a FEW of the goodies I received from PINKFRESH STUDIOS back in July after winning their GRAND PRIZE July Release! Yep, they sent everything from their whole release that month to me...absolutely FREE! And it was a BIG release! LOTS of stamps, stencils, dies, foil plates, & even their little silver and gold gems! It definitely pays to play along with their giveaways each month! Somebody's gonna win, and I was the lucky one in July! Of course I do need to give credit to my sweet friend Michele who texted me to let me know my name was listed as the grand prize winner, otherwise I would probably have missed the 2 week deadline to email them (I had a lot going on this Summer with my cancer scare and just wasn't keeping up with much in blogland!) and forfeited the prize! Thanks Michele for looking out for me!! Because there were so many of the hot foil plates in the prize, I invested in one of the Spellbinder Hot Foil machines...I love the look of the foil on the cards, but there is definitely a learning curve to using them! Michele and I both struggled a bit, but after a few tries (well ok, maybe more than a few!) we got the hang of foiling, and each have a few cards to share with you today. I started with the Small Butterflies and the Daisy Wreath to come up with this card... Here's a close up so you can see the silver foiling better... The shine is so different from embossing with silver...super shiny and so pretty! I had already had the Daisy Wreath stencil and die, but part of the prize was the matching foil plate...what a beautiful touch it adds to the wreath!! The little butterfly was also foiled with silver, and then stenciled and die cut. My background is also a PFS stencil...Argyle. Another foil plate included in the prize was this Thankful for Friends which I foiled in gold, and then stenciled and die cut before adding to a Spellbinders hot foil frame that I also did in gold. (Don't look too closely...I was still learning when I used the frame!) Isn't it so pretty in the deep reds and the gold foiling?! I pop dotted it to my frame and card base, and also added a few of the gold gems that were part of the prize package. (The sentiment is part of the stamp set Thankful for Friends) My next two cards use a background stamp (Sweet Blooms) that I already had, but part of the prize was the matching hot foil plate. I foiled the plate in silver and had to try several times before I got one that was acceptable to me. I think the larger the plate, the more room there is for extra foil to appear...grrrr! I have learned that a sand eraser is a very valuable tool to have on hand at this point as it does a really good job of removing extra foil from spots you didn't want foiled! There is a matching stencil for this design, but I don't have it, so I just used my Copics to color the leaves and flowers. Here you can see the shine a bit better. I also added some WOS to the purple flowers, and a few purple gemstones, so this card really does sparkle and shine! My last card uses the same background stamp as the last card (Sweet Blooms) that I foiled in gold this time. Because a good portion of this one was over foiled with gold smudges everywhere, I cut the panel down, and still came up with a really pretty card! I colored in the leaves and flowers again with my Copics, and then added a small die cut wreath (Leafy Circle which I die cut 3 times and stacked for dimension and colored with the same Copic YG03), and also another one of the Small Butterflies that I foiled in gold. The Leafy Circle and butterfly also helped to cover up some of the gold foil smudges. Even though this card started out not looking so great, I think it turned out really pretty after I doctored it all up! A big, BIG THANK YOU to PINKFRESH STUDIOS for their so very generous prize to me...I am still so blown away by your generosity and kindness!! I made two more cards using my Pinkfresh Studios' Wonderful in Every Way set of stamps and dies. This time I used my Copics to color them - hope you like them! Adding thin foam squares to the back, each floral branch was added to a panel of Lil' Inkers Dip Dyed Ombre cardstock [sadly no longer available] that had been debossed first. Good morning! Yesterday was my second Facebook Live video! So today I'm sharing the cards we made in yesterday's live video - we had fun with the Pinkfresh Fancy Floral 1 and Fancy Floral 2 Layering Dies and Distress Oxide inks for these! The best way to understand the process is to go watch the video, which fortunately is saved and posted on the Facebook page now. But basically we used the die cut pieces as stencils for the first card, then used those same pieces to layer together for the second card. We also added some sentiments on top, using the new Essentials: Classic Words Die Set, and some little add on sentiments. This first one the extra sentiment came from Happy Hugs: This second one with the dies we used as stencils layered together has an add on sentiment from Lush Greenery stamp set: The two distress oxide inks we used for this are Dried Marigold and Abandoned Coral. There are also some gold splatters on both of these that we added with a Starry Colors palette for a bit of sparkle and shine! Isn't it fun getting two cards from one design idea? When I started the video, I didn't have a completed card in mind, but I had started playing with some design ideas in a different color palette. So after the video, I completed these into cards as well! These cards used Cracked Pistachio and Evergreen Bough Distress Oxide inks, and pretty much the same process. For both of these cards I accidentally used a retired stamp set called Bird with Flowers, so if you happen to have that in your stash you can put it to good use as well! And if not, there are TONS of fabulous sentiments in other Pinkfresh stamp sets fortunately! Same gold splatters and layers here on these cards. Would love to hear which color combo is your favorite! My assignment was to work with the Ribbons & Balloons stamp, but you see I used a lot of the new celebration products. The whole release is about celebrations and they can be combined easily! I made an interactive card, but a really easy one. I stamped and embossed the Ribbons & Balloons stamp with gold embossing powder. I ink blended it with the help of the coordinating stencils. I cut two 6"x 4 1/4 panels and scored and folded both panels at 0,5" on the longer side for a little wing. I glued the two panels together using those wings. I used double sided tape to adhere the wings, but I left the upper part open, so that I can tuck in the diecutted balloons. I also decorated this flap with a lacey edge cutout, on both sides. There will be a Reel on the Pinkfresh IG soon, so will have a peek into my process. From the outside I added another layer that I embossed with the Sparkling Diamonds coverplate. The little golden diecut from the Wrap Around Elements set adds a little bling to the card. These Rosettes are so easy to create using only two stencils and the coordinating dies. I placed them on the top folding part of the card. The fringes die is also from the Wrap Around Elements set and it is really versatile. I inn blended some paper strips with the same colors that I used all around the card and diecut them. It adds such a fun detail to the card. I hope you like my idea for an interactive card! Hello there lovely peeps, I'm stopping by to share my newest cards for Pinkfresh Studio. All these cards are top folding A2 size. For my first two sets of cards I chose one of my most favorite stamp sets from Pinkfresh Studio, Playful Animal Friends 1. Aren't these critters just adorable?! I also wanted to use some of the dies I haven't used yet from the Essentials collection (pretty much all the rectangles). On these first two cards I've used 3 sets of rectangles: Pretty Frames die set, Diagonal Stitched Rectangles die set and the Stitched Rectangles set. I also used the lovely Adore Alpha die set to create my titles. As luck would have it, a few days after I made these cards, Jennifer McGuire posted a video of the same technique, using the same alpha dies. So instead of writing down how I created these, I'll link to Jennifer's video. On my next cards I used the same Playful Animal Friends 1 stamp set again, as well as the Pretty Frames die set. This time I went with a monochromatic color scheme. You could actually create these two cards from one stamped panel but I didn't think of this when I made the cards, so first I only stamped a smaller piece that was enough for the big label. I die cut the label from the stamped paper as well as some white card stock so I could add a white outline. I dry embossed some blue card stock, and added a white frame to it (also part of the Pretty Frames die set.) I actually die cut this frame 3 times and layered them up to add more dimension to this simple card. I adhered this panel to my card base and using foam adhesive I attached the label in the middle, adding some teal metallic thread behind it. Last but not least, I tied some twine around the top. For the other card I stamped a full background which I adhered to my card base. I die cut a label from blue and white card stocks, then glued them on a card stock and fussy cut around the outline. I dry embossed the label and using some foam tape I adhered it down on the card base. I embossed a piece of card stock with WOW! Embossing Powder in Mint Macaroon and die cut my sentiment from it. This word die comes from the Essentials Classic Words die set. I cut the sentiment from white card stock a bunch of times and glued them together. To finish off this card I added a twine bow. My last card for today is using the Essentials Classic Tags with Fillable Elements die set and patterned papers from the beautiful Everyday Musings collection. I die cut a a tag with one of the fillable elements from 3 different papers so I could add different colors to those tiny hearts and dots. I created my background: I layered 3 papers on the card base. Once done, I adhered everything down. For the tag I used some foam adhesive so that it stands out better. I die cut a sentiment using the same Essentials Classic Words die set once again. To finish off this card, I added a bow on top. That's it for today! I hope I could inspire you in a small way!
