This is kind of a mixture between venice and a fantasy scyscraper city. This build was really large, I think it was almost 1,5 meter in height. I added that really large base that you can not see in this picture completly. I couldn't use paper as the model is way to large. Way to large. It's even larger. So I tried cutting the background. A simple generic 3-aspect signal based on British Railways prototypes. I enjoy the challenge of integrating System and Technic parts in order to achieve a pleasing result. Technic parts have the advantages of being slender in the case of axles and involve "plane-rotations" within a compact space, i.e. 90 or 180 deg stud orientation changes within small space.

I spent some time correcting the door handle arrangement on my VDA van posted a few months ago. Whilst doing so, I decided to build a second one in "bauxite" livery (the livery preceding Railfreight red/grey). A couple of bricklink orders filled in the missing brown panel elements required and I used the opportunity to strip down and rebuild the RF red/grey wagon. Both versions are identical and internally the frame and supporting structure has been simplified and improved. The resulting wagon is quite robust and surprisingly frugal in parts. I still have a few more stickers to prepare, but other than that, they are pretty much complete.
