This is a **one-of-a-kind, hand-rendered, hand-painted, original watercolor painting** of a brick rowhome. The painting is based on the architecture in and around Greater Philadelphia and was originally a part of my "Houses of Lansdowne" series. This is NOT a print, it was NOT created digitally, it is NOT AI-generated! It was 100% hand-drawn and hand-painted by me! Title: 26 McKinley (Original hand-painted watercolor painting by Erica Harney, rowhome illustration, Philadelphia rowhouse painting, Philly architecture art) Give yourself or your loved one the gift of something truly original, unique, special and handmade. Created and signed by Philadelphia artist Erica Harney (me!), this is an original watercolor painting that measures 8x10" before framing and matting (Painting measures approximately 13x17" if purchased with a frame/mat). Due to storage limitations I carry a very small selection of frames: basic black or white frames with white mat. For the safety, ease, and affordability of shipping, the frames I use are plexiglass, not actual glass. For the long-term legacy of your painting, professional framing with archival mats and UV-protectant glass (or similar) is always encouraged. I am happy to provide recommendations for custom framers upon request. *I am a full-time, working artist* in Philadelphia, PA, where I have been based since 2011. A NY native, I have a Bachelors of Fine Art in Drawing & Painting from Alfred University (2006) and a Masters of Fine Art in Drawing & Painting from the Pennsylvania State University (2010). I began using watercolor in 2005 while studying abroad at the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy. I am also proficient in oil and acrylic/latex, am an avid sketchbook user, and sometimes create collages from found objects. In addition to my Studio practice, I also gig as a scenic artist (painting scenery and backdrops for opera, theatre, tv, museums etc) and muralist in and around Philadelphia. Until the Pandemic I also taught as an adjunct instructor at several colleges and universities in the Mid-Atlantic region. Despite its name, I admit that I don't do a good job at reflecting my adopted hometown of Philadelphia on this blog. It's especially shameful because I happen to live in one of the prettiest and most historic neighborhoods, called Society Hill, in the City of Brotherly Love so today and tomorrow you'll be treated to a visual tour of the area. Society Hill abuts Independence Hall and the site of the Liberty Bell, so our streets are always filled with tourists on foot and in horse-drawn carriages. Many nearby houses predate the formation of the country and are in Federal or Georgian style. Hallmarks of those architectural styles, including shutters, ornate iron railings, and stacked marble front steps, abound here. There is such a sense of timeless beauty in the historic homes I'm lucky enough to live near. (all images via Meet Me in Philadelphia) Isn't Society Hill just amazing? Stop by again tomorrow to see more bits of this wonderfully historical neighbor that I call home.
