Hi Everyone, Hussena here to share with you a tutorial on how to make a flip-card using your dies and Big Shot..It's a really very easy way to make some fast and interactive cards to get the 'WOW' factor from your friends and family..So first let's gather our supplies and you all will need the following to make these cards below. Supplies needed for the tutorial :- Big Shot Machine Spellbinder's Nestabilities Label 4 Martha Stewart Scoring Board Fiskars Sure Cut paper Trimmer Cardstocks Pattern paper of your choice ( I have used the Prima Zephyr Paper Pad.) Distress inks(Totally optional) And now for the tutorial :- I have written the steps in the pictures itself..I hope this makes it easier for you all to understand it. Step 1- Take a piece of cardstock measuring 7 1/2 inches by 4 1/4 inches. Step 2 - Fold it in a zig-zag pattern. Step 3 - Your card should look like this now. Step 4 - Now measure, cut and glue your pattern paper on to the front of your card. Step 5 -Now place your die on the smaller side of the card with it's centre point aligning with the 2 3/4 inch scored line and stick it with either a Washi Tape or any repositionable glue. Step 6 -Now make your cutting sandwich for this you can refer our DT member Mallika's post on how to create a cutting sandwich for your dies...Place your acrylic plate only up to the 2 3/4 inch score line and run it through your Big Shot..This will allow you to only partially die-cut one end of your card which is required for the flipping mechanism. Step 7 -Now that you have cut one end ...Turn your card around and place your acrylic plate on the 3 3/4 inch score line and again partially die-cut it...Please take care to place your acrylic plates to the the required scored line...otherwise you will end up cutting up the entire piece. Step 8 -After you have die-cut both the ends, your card will look like this below....Now, peel off the pattern paper from the die-cut ends...Don't worry if you mess up a bit..This will later on get covered up. Step 9 -Now using the same label die, die-cut two pieces of cardstock....One plain and other colored....The plain one will be attached to the back side where as the colored one will be in the front of your card. Step 10 -Attach the white cardstock on the front side and when you flip your card this will go on the back. Step 11- Attach the colored cardstock on the back side as shown. Step 12 -Once both the die-cuts are attached, this is how your card will look. Step 13 -As you can see, when the card is opened, the white die-cut piece comes in the front where you can write your message. Step 14 -Once the card is closed, this is how it will look. Step 15 -Here are my sample cards before I have embellished them. Supplies used for embellishing :- Lawn Fawn Blissful Botanicals and Flutter By. Prima Zephyr paper Pad , Best of K & Company Papers. Distress ink : Tumbled Glass., Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Martha Stewart Doily Lace Punch Marianne Embossing Folder- Daisies. Hi friends. You may remember that we're doing Inlaid Dies at CAS Mix Up this month. I wanted the flower to stand out a little so I inlaid the stem and leaves and used dimensionals behind the slightly shaped flower. The iris was cut from the woodgrain paper and colored with Zig CCRBM. It was fit into a piece of smooshed Mixed Media paper, matted and added to the piece of woodgrain paper the iris was cut from. I colored behind the flower lightly with a Blender Pen and some Zig smeared on a palette. It would have been easier to do that before I inlaid the die. Live and learn....hopefully! My mixed media are stamping, inlaid die cutting, and smooshing. Hope to see you in the gallery at CAS Mix Up Penny Black Saturday Challenge is SPRING OR EASTER Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments. Enjoy! Card Recipe Stamps: Snippets (PB) Ink: Concord Crush (SU) Paper: Neena (110 lb.), Woodgrain (TH), Concord Crush (SU), Mixed Media (Strathmore) Other: Single Iris Die (PB), Zig CCRBM ( #25 Pink, #28 Pale Pink, #44 Deep Green, #43 Olive, #80 Violet, #81 Light Violet), Aqua Painter (SU)

I posted this card using the Tea Shoppe Stamp Set and promised you a tutorial to show how to do a partial cut using the Stampin' Up! Framelits. I used the Ovals Collection Framelits available in the Spring / Summer Catalogue. I add a piece of magnetic sheet to the pack which helps hold the dies in place. Stamp the image to one side of a piece of card stock. You need to use an image which is relatively easy to cut round (unless you like fiddly cutting!) Select the size of Framelit you wish to use and place it over the image. Using a pencil, draw round the inside of the Framelit up to the image. Carefully cut round the image inside the pencil line using Paper Snips. You will need to cut along the image past the pencil line so that when you slip the die UNDER the cut out image you can line up the die with the pencil line. Run this through the Big Shot using the normal sandwich for Framelits (you can use a sticky note to keep the die in place). Remove the framelit and you are left with a partial cut out. Here is another card I made using the same technique and a different stamp set - Henry Says. The elephant's truck is perfect for cutting round. I hope you will agree he is rather cute! Hopefully this tutorial makes sense - if you have any questions please leave me a comment.

Galina applies different inks on a cardstock and then cuts out a bunch of leaves. She then glues the negative die cut on a card base, rotate leaves and inlaid them back to the negative die cut. Stamp a sentiment and cut it out with rectangle die and then cut out few more small rectangles and foam mount them onto the card. --Supplies-- Sprigs Die (focal point) Additional A2 Layers Die (sentiment) Jars Sentiments Stamp Set (sentiment) Galina creates the window by tracing a square and then placing the Sprigs dies down and does a partial die cut, so that she will only cut out inside her window. She then uses an x-acto knife to cut the square out around the sprigs leaves. Ink blending a separate piece of cardstock, she stamps her sentiment, then pops up her leafy window with foam tape. --Supplies-- Sprigs Die (leaves) Additional Squares Die (square shape) Jars Sentiments Stamp Set (sentiment)

Oh my goodness I have some exciting news!! I am now proud to be a part of this amazing crew of extremely talented demonstrators. I am still pinching myself. What is Colour INKspiraton? – a Facebook based bi-monthly colour challenge. Anyone with Facebook can join in. You don’t need a blog and you don’t need to be a demonstrator. I have joined in these challenges and love them as Colour challenges for me are actually a real challenge. Click here to join the Facebook page which has over 1000 members and see what it’s all about. Here’s some of the basic details about the challenge – The Colour INKspiration Crew! consists of a team of talented Aussie and NZ Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators that create projects based on Pinterest inspired colour swatches. Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at 7 pm (AEDT), a new colour swatch will be uploaded to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group and the Colour INKspiration Crew will get the ball rolling by providing inspiration for each challenge with a blog hop. Then you have a 12 day period to upload your own creations using the colours provided. If you have a blog, feel free to link back to it, but all entries will be via Facebook. The design team will select 5 projects to be ‘design team picks’ and then the Facebook group will select an overall winner from this shortlist. This is this weeks challenge colour swatch and it is so gorgeous. (Remember you can also add neutrals to these colours which consist of White, Black, Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Kraft, Sahara Sand and Metallics ) My creation I did think about it for a few days and kept changing my mind on what I wanted to to.... These colours scream out floral so here we go. Here is a pic so you can see the dimension of the card. I had a totally different idea in my head and thought I would try this to see if it would work. It most definitely did, I am super happy with it. The base card was folded in 3 equal parts and the front panel scored in half and folded down to make the smaller mountain fold. The three flowers were the trickiest part as they were only cut to the fold to make them pop up. To do this I placed the top and base plates on my bigshot right on the crease when cutting the outside framelit from the flowers. The coloured part of the flowers were all cut from the outside framelit and placed behind the flowers so the colour showed through the petals. (I hope that this makes sense) Stamps: Special Reason, The Sentiment from Sunshine Sayings and Gorgeous Grunge Ink: Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry and Elegant Eggplant Card: Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Delightful Dijon and Elegant Eggplant Tools: Stylish Stems & Botanical Builder Framelits and Petal Burst Textured Embossing folder with the Bigshot Embelishments: Gold ribbon from Saleabration If you go and check out Kelly's creation with these gorgeous colours I think you will love it as she never ceases to amaze. (I actually received her gorgeous card in the mail last week welcoming me to the crew- super lucky)
