Happy Sunday, peeps! It’s time for another Paper Players challenge, and Jaydee is our hostess this week with a gorgeous color combo! It’s so soft and pretty…what do you think? I incorporated it with a new (to me) sketch challenge at TGIF challenges: and my favorite set from this year’s catalog, Awesomely Artistic: Even though it seems like there is a lot going on here, it was pretty simple to put together. I stamped the images on my tag; I stamped and colored a butterfly from Papillion Potpourri and punched it out, adding some pearls for glam; heat embossed a sentiment from Six-Sided Sampler in silver and stamped some grunge on the Sahara Sand card base with Sahara Sand ink. I dyed some white seam binding with Smoky Slate ink and crumple-dried it in the microwave, then added a doily and some gathered Mint Macaron lace, and for the final touch, cut a couple of little banners from glassine paper and Smoky Slate cardstock, then some hearts from Brushed Silver and Shimmery white. I would never have thought to put the neutrals of Sahara Sand and Smoky Slate together, but I love it! I hope you love it too and will share what you create with us at the Paper Players blog! Meanwhile, check out the other gorgeous creations from the PP team: Ann – out this week Claire Jaydee Joanne Laurie Nance – out this week Sandy Amy Jodi Lisa I promised a few more pix of Cassidy very intently drawing with her new goodies: “It’s a playground! See the ladder and the sliding board?!” Enjoy your day!
Happy Sunday! It's time to play with The Paper Players! Ann here...with a challenge that will be right up the alley of Clean and Simple fans. It's a One-Layer Card challenge.
Happy Sunday Peeps! Sorry I have been a bit MIA lately, life is hectic and I am still a bit under the weather with this lingering cold and to top thinks off I took a tumble on Friday and I am sore all over! Anyway, still working on a card order, this is one I put together using a past color challenge from the The Dynamic Duos Blog. This is really a favorite color combo of mine, love the look of old olive and rich razzleberry together not to mention it makes a pretty flower card, and you know I love those! :) The flower on here comes from the Stampin Up Fabulous Florets stamp set. I stamped the greenery with old olive onto whisper white and then stamped the flowers with rich razzleberry onto some scrap whisper white. I then cut them out and popped them up over the greenery. The top flower is just part of the same image as the bottom. I just cut away a bunch of it. The base of the card is white card stock followed by rich razzleberry card stock. The DSP on here is from the International Bazaare pack and the Polka Dot Parade pack. The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set and I stamped with razzleberry ink and used my circle punches to punch out and mat. I added some white card stock that I embossed with the square lattice EF and some rich razzleberry satin ribbon (retired). Well, that is all for today, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!! Vicki
The Butterfly Basics stamp set, from Stampin' Up!, is used to create a soft and feminine card for The Paper Players challenge.
Happy Sunday, peeps! Brrrr, winter has come upon us….hopefully this chilly weather won’t last too long here in PA! I am the hostess today for the Paper Players, and I chose one of my favorite styles of stamping: vintage! I just love the vintage, antique look you can achieve with some of the beautiful papers and stamps on the market these days! I have tons of vintage digital images, too, but this week I decided to focus on some beautiful papers I got recently from Graphic 45 called Botanical Tea: Not a lot of stamping here, just a few layered embellishments and a pretty row of organdy roses, retired from SU. I made a multi-layered flower with the Boho Blossom punch, and added some leaves from My Favorite Things, who also made the sentiment. I did a little sponging and added a few glittery elements as well! The sketch is a lovely one from Stampin’ Royalty: I sure hope you will play along with my challenge this week and shabby something up, or stamp something with an antique image! Check out what the other designers created: Andrea Ann Anne Marie Claire Jaydee Joanne Laurie Nance Sandy Yapha Cassidy told me she was going to draw me a leaf! First, she drew the outline, then began to color it in: Not too bad! Of course, using Grammy’s (retired) SU markers makes drawing and coloring even better! Enjoy your day!
Happy Hump Day Peeps!!! Today I am sharing a card I made using the sketch this week on The Paper Players.I have to say I struggled with this sketch and I put at least 3 tries into the recycle bin befo
Hello friends! I haven't decided if I'm finished making Christmas cards for the year. I don't have an official count yet, but I'm sure it's over 350. There may be one more Christmas collection I will use, but no promises. Since I have several winter collections I want to use, I thought I'd at least
Hi everyone, Jaydee here and it is my pleasure to host our challenge this week and I have a color challenge for you. Good Monday Morning Peeps!! Hope you had a good weekend and are all safe. The weather has been BUMPY lately, in our area we were LUCKY to not have any major or severe storms. Lots or rain and or course thunderstorms and some hail, and flooding, but no tornadoes. Others here in the Midwest were not as fortunate, my heart goes out to all that has sustained loses. Today I am sharing a card I made using the challenge on The Paper Players Blog this week. The challenge is a Clean and Simple (CAS) with a twist. Create a Clean and Simple project using watercoloring! Well, you all know I LOVE to watercolor, and you also know that I have a bit of a struggle with Clean & Simple. But heck, I am up for a challenge. Since Stampin Up released their retiring list yesterday I decide to use a "retiring" set. This one is called "Every Moment". It is a favorite of mine, even tho it has not gotten much love lately, I am very fond of this daisy! I stamped the daisy onto some Confetti card stock with black stazon and colored with my daffodil delight ink pad and a bit of crushed curry too. The center is colored with soft suede and some early espresso. I added the dots in with my black marker. The stem is a bit of old olive. Very easy peasy on this daisy! The sentiment is from the Petite Pairs stamp set and then I cut out with the Labels Framelits die. The base of the card is Daffodil Delight and then a layer of Confetti card stock that I embossed with the stripes EF. I then added some daffodil delight seam binding ribbon and tied a bow. I cut another label with daffodil and embossed this with the square lattice EF. Each layer of the labels is put on with dimesionals, and the gold pearls are non SU. Well, that is it, a CAS and easily mailable card. Be sure and check out the retirement list posted on my sidebar and let me know if you need anything before it is gone!! Alot of retiring stamp sets, some I am sorry to see go, but I am sure there will be some equally fun and beautiful sets coming up in the new catalog, I am excited for that!! Leave me a comment and let me know if you like this CAS card or do you prefer my more "fussy' cards? Thanks for stopping by today and HAPPY STAMPING!! Vicki

Hi friends! Sandy here as your challenge hostess this week. Before we begin, a big thank you to all who played along with Joanne's color challenge. We loved visiting all your blogs and seeing all your delighful creations! This week I have a Clean and Simple theme: Butterflies. A little bit trendy, a little bit elegant....wow, we are impressed! For what many thought was a verrrry challenging color combination, you all rose to the occasion and made these colors sing! Many thanks for playing along with us and trying something a little different. Before we get to our Headliner, let's have a look at the Design Team picks for A Cut Above: And now, Nance's choice for Headliner: Kandi Phillips!! Kandi & Company Kandi's card had me at first glance. An artful and balanced combination of the challenge colors as well as great depth and dimension. I love the repeated circle elements in the doily, dots and elegant embellishment. Her handmade gold embossed vellum is not only gorgeous but wicked clever. All of it adds up to one stunning creation and my pick for this week's Headliner! Congratulations, Kandi! Be sure to stop by tomorrow for a fun Clean-and-Simple Challenge from sweet LeAnne!
I'm in love with Jaydee's colour challenge at The Paper Players this week. It conjures up visions of cosy fireside autumn evenings, sunny autumn afternoons playing in the leaves and of opulent interiors. Wonderful colours! But not ones I use that often... I've been having a bit of a thing with Very Vintage of late and the colours just seemed to be begging to use that set. I used Stampin' Write markers to colour the beautiful floral bouquet and the bee while I used stamped off Cajun Craze for the tattered lace doilies. It's perhaps hard to see in the picture, but I used Wink of Stella on the bee's wings and on the flowers. This not only gives a pleasing shimmer to them but it smears the inks a little so that you get a kind of water-coloured effect in those areas. I suppose you could call it Wink of Stella painting! For a finishing touch, I coloured some rhinestones with a dark Cajun Craze Stampin' Blend and added a trio of them. Don't the Stampin' Blends make a great job of customising embellishments? At The Paper Players, we'd love to see what you do with Jaydee's rich colours. Visit The Paper Players and see what the rest of the team have done with them. Hello friends! Every once in a while a collection of products come by that seem to be just for you. I have long loved gathering sea shells at the beach and marveling at their natural beauty. My home is filled with the collections! When I saw the Texture Chic Suite Collection (Stampin' Up!) I knew it was for me! With an assortment of seasonal images in a sketchy style with dies and shimmering papers, I envision beautiful creations throughout the year. Just in time for LeAnne's fabulous sketch challenge at The Paper Players, here's my first card made with the brand new goodies. I layered two of the specialty papers onto a white card stock panel. I love the airy washes of color and gold foil accents in these. For the shells, I did layered stamping with Distress Oxide inks in Spun Sugar, Wild Honey and Broken China. The tiny shell is from the Seashells 3D embossing folder, snipped out and lightly sponged with ink. They are assembled over a die cut piece of the Distressed Gold Specialty paper. I love this glimmer! A sweet sentiment stamped in Bermuda Bay and a scattering of elegant jewels (Buttercream by PPP) complete my project. I hope you will head on over to see the gorgeous DT samples and join us for the sketch. I'd love to see what you make! You will also find this entry at the delightful NBUS Challenge (never-been-used-stuff.) Thanks so much for your visit today, hope you're able to find some time to get crafty! Be yourself Have delight in your craft Make something beautiful!
Minimal colors can sometimes yield maximum results. When the Paper Players extended a challenge to make a card that's both monochromatic and clean & simple, I was ready to go. I've created a lot of black-and-white cards, but today I've created a card in brown hues. It also gave me

Happy Thursday peeps!! Today I am sharing a couple of cards made using the challenge this week on the Paper Players Blog. The challenge is to create a project showcasing something that represents Summertime to you. Well, these flowers from the Stampin Up "Inspired by Nature" stamp set, now retired, certainly does that for me! I created two cards using this set making one in yellow and one in purple. I also used the Stampin Up "French Foliage" stamp set to "age" my images. Using the script and water splotches stamps. I then sponged the edges heavily with some early espresso ink. I kept the rest of the details on the cards pretty simple, just a scruncy bow with an antique brad, a couple more brads at the top and a tiny sentiment. The base of both cards are Early Espresso card stock and then the yellow flowers image is matted with daffodil delight card stock and the purple flower image is matted with some retired card stock, pale plum. I used some crumb cake seam binding ribbon to make the scrunchy bows. I just wadded a bunch up in my hand and then wet it and kept it all scrunched up while drying it carefully with my heat tool. then i just looped it back and forth to make a loopy bow and added my antique brad to the center. I added the main image panels to the base of the card at a slight angle. I do love me a tilted panel from time to time!!! Well, that is all from me, thanks for stopping by and HAPPY STAMPING!!! Vicki

Hello stampers! LeAnne here! It was wonderful to see all the beautiful creations using Joanne's color palette last week! We truly enjoyed each and every one! Today, I have a clean-and-simple challen
I decided to combine todays 10 min fast and fabulous card with the challenge from Paper Players. The challenge was to make a One layer card. With all the goodies available to us today, that is food for thought. I started with Baked Brown Sugar from the new Incolors. The new Stampin Chalk Marker (132133) Holiday Catalog, did a great job of the edges in combo with the Paper Piercing Essentials pack. The template even has rounded corners that match a corner rounder. I stamped my sentiment, from the Timless Talk stamp set, and found a perfect paper piercing template to go around. The flowers from Too Kind are a two stamping set. The stems stamp together, then you use the more undefined stamp for the base flower, then the darker color in the more defined stamp. I used Blushing Bride for my base and Primrose Petals for the top color. Stems are Old Olive. If you would like to play along, here is the challenge. Paper Players And if you would like to place an order, you can do that HERE. As always, thanks so much for stopping by, and I'd love to hear what you think about my cards and if you would like to see something different.

It's a quiet Easter Monday and, once again, I'm procrastinating about cleaning out the craft room by taking up another challenge. This time, it's the colour challenge at The Paper Players. I had a made up trellis base on my desk, a spare made when I was experimenting with that style of card after seeing them pop up on the internet in the last month or so. I'd already embossed it with the Timber 3D embossing folder to make it look more like a trellis. It seemed too good to waste so I got out my neglected Quiet Meadow bundle. From the base, it was a simple matter to add in some So Saffron splatters and some Sahara Sand lettering. Both these colour are retiring at the end of the month, so order quickly if they're favourites of yours. The frond is die-cut from Soft Sea Foam, while the flowers were cut in Basic White and sponged with Soft Sea Foam and Blushing Bride (another impending retiree colour). The sentiment is stamped in Sahara Sand and popped up on dimensionals. Finally, three Iridescent Rhinestones finished it all off. Quick and easy. 😀 If you live in New Zealand and don't have a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, I'd love to be yours. I can help you with ideas, get you catalogues and provide you with Stampin' Up products. You can leave a message in the comments or contact me using any of the methods listed in the Contact Me tab at the top of the page. Happy Sunday! Claire has a fun sketch for us at The Paper Players: UPDATE: The folder is from Quick Kutz We R Memory Keepers called woven. Thanks Bev! I went with almost all white, adding just a touch of green. I actually intended to do a white on white card when I started out, but I didn't have a white branch! LOL! Most of the card was made with die cuts my friends gave me. The branch, the sentiment, the embossed background...all from my die cut box of card candy treasures that friends have given me. They all know how much I love dies I guess! BUT the butterflies are mine. The small one is from Stampin Up, and the larger from Memory Box. OH! I almost forgot... the tiny pearls and ribbon are also mine...both from Stampin Up. Hi Everyone. WOW! What a wonderful way to kick off the new year. You guys really know how to make it difficult for the design team to pick our winners. We were amazed by the variety of fabulous submissions and your take on "new". Thank you so much to all of you who played along. Before we get to my choice for Headliner, let's see what caught the eye of the Design Team this week: And now our Headliner: Heather Playing with Papercrafting I love the amount of texture and interest on Heather's beautiful wedding card. The mix of silver, grey and white is so beautiful and the little pops of green work so well. Her floral arrangement around that fabulous frame reminds me of Paris in Springtime. Beautiful card. Congratulations, Heather, on being our first Paper Players HEADLINER of 2020. Once again, thank you to everyone for playing along with us. Congratulations to all our winners! Please be sure to pick up your badges here. We hope you will display them proudly. Come back tomorrow for a fresh Color Challenge from Anne Marie.
