A wide brimmed vintage style Edwardian Downton Abbey lady's hat. Couture quality hat made in a wine red tufted dupioni silk decorated with handmade flowers. The brim is wired and made in a matching wine colored satin with a fine hand sewn narrow edging in a luminescent olive green trim. There is a corded, woven band around the crown which has a thin narrow olive velvet ribbon highlighted with rhinestones down the center. I have handmade a bouquet of roses for the hat focal point which consists of one large tea rose in a pale pink mauve chiffon with two smaller cabbage roses in a darker dusty mauve taffeta. Tiny gold and honey buds surround the roses. This hat is completely handmade. I hope you will love wearing this hat as much as I enjoyed making it. Sure to be a family heirloom piece handed down to be coveted for many years. It would be a wonderful hat to wear to a vintage wedding or at a reenactment Renaissance faire. Certainly would be the talk of any garden party or luncheon. ***** This fabric is 100% hand dyed silk. There will be slight variations in the color which adds to the overall appeal to the hat for a true vintage/aged look.***** Made to fit a MEDIUM I DO NOT have more of this color fabric. Convo me and I will send you pictures showing how to measure. I can make this hat in the following colors: OLIVE GREEN, ROYAL BLUE AND IVORY **** To see more of my items*** https://www.etsy.com/shop/BuyGail
This striking hat features a kaleidoscope of colors in a funky knit fabric, making this a versatile option that will go with several outfits. A colorful side rosette completes this fun look. A petite brim all the way around this hat helps to protect the face and neck from the elements.
SEWING PATTERN (a downloadable pdf file written in English) Lois This romantic cloche hat is now an exciting sewing project. I designed this cloche in the style of the 1920's. The narrow brim is split into whimsical corners at each side of the crown and can be sewn with or without binding. Instructions for both styles shown are included in the pattern. This PDF file is instantly downloadable and can be printed on 8.5"x11" letter sized paper (USA) or A4 paper (European). It contains cut-out pattern shapes for a full range of sizes, detailed illustrations of each step of the project, sewing tips, notions required, fabric recommendations, size measurement instructions, links to a printable measuring tape as well as translations of hat sewing terminology in several other language and coupons for your next Elsewhen purchase. The sewing and millinery techniques in this pattern will be useful for future sewing projects and your overall understanding of hat construction. Este producto es un patrón en formato digital PDF. HAT SIZES: 19"-25" measuring around the head above the ear (child to adult) FABRIC AND NOTIONS: • ¼ yard of hat fabric • ¼ yard of lining fabric • Thread to match hat fabric • ¼ yard cotton fabric (optional) • Fusible interfacing (optional) • Iron-on adhesive (optional) • 4 covered buttons (optional) • Binding (optional) • Denim needle for sewing machine (Iron-on adhesive available in the Elsewhen shop) RECOMMENDED FABRICS: The key to this hat is rigid fabric (not necessarily thick fabric). Thick faux suede is thick and rigid. Other fabrics of light to medium thickness like velvet, wool suiting or microsuede or fabrics with loose weave or stretch are more pliable and should be stiffened with fusible interfacing or by fusing it to cotton with iron-on adhesive. I highly recommend the iron-on adhesive method. For the hat lining, fabrics like taffeta, satin, or pre-washed cotton are best.
