Just a fun way to say hello this Valentine's Day! When I was young our telephone was similar to this one - big, clunky and black. It sat on a lace doily on its own little table. Those were the days when we read Dick Tracy every Sunday in the comic section of the newspaper. He kept in touch with the other "good guys" by talking into his wristwatch......and we laughed at such craziness.....little did we know...... I definitely drew inspiration from our living room from so long ago....the clunky phone, stenciled hearts like patterned wallpaper, a touch of lace and a retro look designer paper. It's my turn to host at Freshly Made Sketches this week. The sketch is wide open - use whatever works for you in the oval area! Hope you join us - especially because it is cold this week in the Northeast so I'd love to sip some tea and visit your galleries! Stamp Set: Let's Talk Paper: Basic White, Bunny Days DSP Ink: Memento Black, Petal Pink
Hello friends, I have just received an order of some of the new products which will be available to purchase from the upcoming Mini Catalogue from 4th January 2024, so I couldn't wait to play with them. There are some very exciting new products in the mini catty as well as the fantastic Sale-a-bration products where you can earn free products by shopping, hosting or joining Stampin’ Up! Please contact me if you want any information regarding Sale-a-bration. I stamped the floral image from the Enduring Beauty Stamp set (#162670). This was stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (#132708) on Basic White card (#159228). Also available with this set is the Enduring Beauty Decorative Masks (#162673). There are 5 masks in the set and each one allows you to colour different parts of the floral image using Blending Brushes (#153611). The inks I have used are Bubble Bath (#161664), Fresh Freesia (#155611), Highland Heather (#147103), Gorgeous Grape (#147099), Lemon Lime Twist (#147145) and Crushed Curry (#147087). This was then cut with the Enduring Beauty Dies (#162672). The Enduring Beauty Bundle (#162674) includes the stamp set, dies and masks. There are 10 sentiments included in the embossing folder and dies. The background is one of the beautiful designs from the Most Adored 12”x12” Specialty Designer Series Paper (#162976). This is a pack from the Sale-a-bration products and free with a $90 purchase (in Australia). I attached the floral image with Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430). I cut the leaves and buds with dies also from the Enduring Beauty dies. I used Lemon Lime Twist card (#121680), Bubble Bath card (#161727) and Fresh Freesia card (#155614), all backed with Adhesive Sheet (#152334) and these were attached to the card. “Hello” is from the Thoughtful Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder (#162927). This embossing folder also includes dies which fit into the folder and cuts and embosses an image at the same time. The dies can be used separately like any other die. To achieve the fine outline of ink on the sentiment, I used the new Stampin’ Brayer (#162936) and applied Fresh Freesia ink onto the embossing folder. I then placed the dies and Basic White card into the folder and cut & embossed the sentiment. I also cut a piece of Gorgeous Grape card (#147011) with the die and used this as a shadow effect. “Hello” was attached to the card with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (#144108). “Love what you do and share what you love.” INSPIRE. Hi Everyone! Today I am sharing a pretty card that I designed for my recent team make & take using the beautiful Spotlight On Nature Bundle I also used the fun skeleton leaf die from the Friend…
Today’s card features the Enduring Beauty Bundle from the January – April 2024 Mini Catalog. This bundle is unique in that it comes with a Stamp Set, a Die Set and a set of 5 Decorative Mask that all coordinate beautifully. I was intrigued when I say this bundle and knew it was something I wanted to try out. Here is what I came up with… The card base is Balmy Blue cardstock cut to 5 ½ x 8 ½” and scored at 4 ¼”. I cut a layer of Basic White cardstock to 4 x 5 ¼” and using one of the Decorative Masks from the Foursquare Decorative Masks (I used the one with little squares) I added some Balmy Blue Ink in different areas of this layer (I did not totally cover it as I just wanted to add a little additional interest not over do it). Before adhering this to the card base, I wrapped it twice with the 2022 – 2024 In Color Bakers Twine (I used Tahitian Tide) and made a little bow off to the left side. Next, I stamped my image onto a piece of Basic White Cardstock using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. I added my masks one at a time and added color. I started with Mask 1 and added Daffodil Delight Ink using my Blending Brush, then moved onto Mask 2 and my Parakeet Party Ink, I will say I wanted those little buds to be Poppy Parade not the green so I masked them with a little of the Stampin’ Up! Masking Paper when I was doing the greens and then masked around them so I could add some Poppy Parade there. Next, I moved onto Mask 2 and added some Crushed Curry Ink and finally I used Mask 4 and added some Old Olive Ink. Since I had already stamped my image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink, I did not use Mask 5. Once everything was all colored, I die cut my image and adhered it to my card using Dimensionals. I die cut two of the leaf dies from the bundle out of Parakeet Party cardstock and tucked them up in under the floral arrangement. To finish off the card I added three of the Pastel Adhesive-Backed Sequins. I hope you enjoy this card I certainly enjoyed making it. Welcome to my first blog hop of 2024! I hope the new year is off to a great start for you. I've been on break and playing with lots of new products from the new Jan - Apr Mini Catalogue, and I'm excited to share what I've been making. Our Creation Station Blog Hop theme this month is "Fuzzy & Furry", and I'm hoping the new Flight & Airy DSP fits the bill! I made this cute pull up card featuring one of my favourite patterns in the paper pack, and a fluffy little bird as decoration. The main card pocket is very simple to make. I took a 6" x 12" piece of the Flight & Airy DSP and scored it on the long side at 4" and 8", and on the short side at 0.5" to form a tab. I cut away the left and right tab, leaving just the middle piece attached, and then I cut from the 4" score mark to the bottom of the DSP on a diagonal. This created a pretty little pocket to tuck in my pull out piece. The DSP is double-sided, and after assembling the base I realized that I didn't love the other pattern that was peeking through the middle of the fold. So I got creative and added a strip of the floral DSP across the inside top of the base, which had the added effect of making the pocket look "hidden". Happy accident, but I love that! I decorated the front of the card base with two postage dies from the Perennial Postage Dies set, one is the DSP and one in Basic White. My sentiment is stamped in Boho Blue Ink and is from the Something Fancy Stamp Set, and I flicked some Light Night Of Navy Blends for a spatter on my label. I fussy cut the bird from the DSP, after layering it onto some white cardstock for some extra stability. The inner pull out piece is created from a piece of 3.75" x 5-3/8" Boho Blue Cardstock, along with a pocket that is 2.5" x 3.5". I decorated a piece of Basic White Cardstock (3.5" x 4-7/8") with a strip of the matching DSP that I die cut with a scalloped border die. I embossed the pocket with the new Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder, and added another Perennial Postage Die cut stamped with "You're the Best" in Boho Blue Ink (from the Hooray For Surprises Stamp Set). Thanks so much for stopping by today! Please keep the fun going by visiting Elizabeth Price, who is next up on our hop. Happy Crafting, Barb

Well here we are—2024, a new year and a new fun Occasions Catalogue to inspire us! I thought it would be fun to share a project that I recently created to share at my Birthday Cupcakes & Cards class as it used a bundle that I would say is a true ‘Brenda Bundle’!
Hello stamping friends, it’s time for week 43 of the Colour Creations Blog Hop with the Art With Heart Team. Every week we have been featuring one of the wonderful Stampin’ Up! colours in alphabetical order and this week we are up to Pumpkin Pie, a lovely orange colour in our Regals colour family. For tonight’s card I used the Stippled Roses stamp set from the Jan to April Mini Catalogue. I stamped the main rose image in Basic Grey and coloured it with my Blends Markers. The colours I used were Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Petal Pink, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow. The gorgeous DSP I used for the background is from the Nature’s Sweetness Specialty DSP, from the Jan to April mini catalogue. Along the right side of the card I put a strip of one of the other DSP from the same pack. I added some leaf sprigs in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow card stock. The greeting is from the Throughout The Year stamp set. I love this greeting and many of the others from this set, it’s a very versatile set. All of the products used to make this card are from Stampin' Up! and are available from my online Stampin' Up! store. Now it's time see what amazing project my stamping friend Kate Morgan has to share with us. Hello and welcome to the Around the World on Wednesday Blog Hop for April! Each month a group of creative friends create a project for a theme. Below is an image of all of the crew and where they are from around the globe. Such a talented, friendly and wonderful group of people. Last month I attended OnStage a Stampin' Up!® Event held in Melbourne. I loved catching up with a few of the Around the World on Wednesday Team Members whilst there. Below is a picture of Melissa Gifford, Cheryll Miller, Rochelle Laird-Smith and myself. These beautiful ladies are so talented and I love that we know each other through this amazing design team. This year is going so quick! I can't believe we are in April already. The weather here in Australia finally cooling. We had a severe rainfall here last weekend and there were many roads cut by flooding or small landslides on the mountains that border my home town. It was the perfect opportunity to spend some time in the craft room being creative with my dog at my feet "helping". This months challenge, This or That, had me thinking for a while. I felt I should create a simple card and then step it up, but then, I decided to make two cards with a similar layout and the same products. I chose to create my cards using new product that I chose to purchase for OnStage in Melbourne for the After Hours classes. Something new and so much fun to attend on top of the OnStage Event. The new bundle I chose is the Spotlight on Nature Bundle. The delicate images and gorgeous Dies won me over instantly. These cards are something that I imagined creating with the Bundle as soon as I saw it. Soft colours and the divine die cut circles at the centre of my card. For my first card I decided to layer the beautiful circle die cuts and sit the fussy cut stamped and coloured images on top. The circle dies are adhered together with Dimensionals and I also used Dimensionals to add to the mat layer. I have stamped the two fussy cut images in the new Basic Beige ink before colouring in with Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends. For the background layer I stamped the Sketched Plaid stamp in Basic White ink on Soft Sea Foam card stock and glued that to a mat layer before adhering to the Soft Sea Foam card base. I placed three of the Petal Pink Foiled Gems around the die cut pieces on the circle diecut. On a piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock I stamped the sentient in Soft Sea Foam ink before cutting it out with paper snips. I tied some Linen Thread in a bow and adhered it to the bottom of the sentiment piece before adhering the sentiment with Dimensionals. For my second card I wanted to use the beautiful new neutral Basic Beige for my card base. I felt it would go well with the softness of Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam. I decided to make a simpler and quicker version of the card above. The Sketched Plaid stamp was inked in Basic Beige and stamped on a Basic Beige mat layer. Then glued to the card base. I stamped the floral image on a piece of basic white card stock in Basic Beige ink before die cutting it with a circle die and colouring with Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam Stampin' Blends. I stamped the sentiment in Soft Sea Foam ink on the top right hand side of the floral image. I adhered three of the Petal Pink Foiled Gems around the stamped images. Before adhering to the card base using Dimensionals I cut a 10cm length of the new Petal Pink Diagonal Trim and adhered it to the centre of the card front underneath where the circle die layer went. Up next on this months hop is the wonderfully talented Rochelle Laird- Smith. Click on the next blog button below to head to her post. I hope to have inspired you to create two projects with some similarities as I have here. I was fun creating the one with more layers first then pairing it back for the second card.

We all know the rule of three and that an odd number grouping looks better but sometimes the Rule of Four must go into effect. I had three cups beside the coffee pot and declared my card finished but then.......a splot of ink appeared out of nowhere above the yellow cup! Don't you hate when that happens??? So I immediately enacted the Rule of Four which states: Move over you three....there is always room for one more! Tried to get a shot that shows off the gold metallic paper....... So many possibilities with Jen Brum's wonderful sketch this week! Hope you join us at Freshly Made Sketches! Stamp Sets: Latte Love, Hello Beautiful Sentiment from Coffee Talk (Lil' Inker) Paper: Pecan Pie, Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly, Petal Pink, A Little Latte DSP Ink: Pecan Pie, Memento Black
