This is a forged iron hand-crafted Wolf rune pendant. The Wolf rune consists of four runes: Wunjo, Othala, Laguz, Fehu which spell the word "wolf". Runes are a Norse alphabet developed around 200 BCE, from characters used for magical purposes. According to Norse myth, the alphabet was discovered in a vision by the god Odin as he hung upside down and wounded for nine days on the World Tree Yggdrasil. There are three commonly known runic alphabets: the ‘elder’ and ‘younger’ Futhark (futhark being the transliteration of the first few letters of that alphabet), the Anglo-Saxon futhork, and the Danish ‘short twig’ or script alphabet. Wolves feature prominently in Celtic (especially Irish) mythology as well as other world mythologies. The Wolf or Madadh-alluidh symbolized cunning, an intelligent creature, capable of out-thinking hunters. It can teach you how to read the signs of Nature in everything, how to pass by danger invisibly, how to outwit those who wish you harm, and how to fight when needed. Pendant size is about 1.7" inches (40 mm) by 1.2" inch (30 mm). The pendant comes on a black waxed cotton cord necklace. Optionally, it can also be attached into a keychain. This collection is feminine, strong, and will make anyone feel like a powerful leader. This Viking Kaftan is based on historical examples, with some adjustments to make it more flattering. You will notice the nice fitted body and wide, flared bottom half which makes it move in a lovely way. It was a garment that was often worn over top of a tunic and apron dress, providing a little bit of extra protection from the elements. We have made it from wool broadcloth, which has an amazing texture to it and is quite windproof. It is lined in 100% flax linen, which prevents the scratchy wool from rubbing against you as well as providing additional structure to the garment. The edges of the kaftan (including the neck hole, wrists, and other hems) are finished with a red border as well as some subtle embroidery to protect you from evil spirits and give the garment a polished, finished look. This is a very luxurious kaftan and it is finished with a number of touches that make it a truly quality item. It does up with the help of etched brass claps with a little bit of Viking knotwork. The seams at the top of the arms have embroidery over the top of them to frame your shoulders nicely. The most impressive part, though, is amazing wolf knotwork, which twists its way down from the top of the shoulders to under the bust, expertly adorned with the help of white, blue and red threads. The colors of this garment work together in an extraordinary fashion, making it both modest yet eye-catching at the same time. How to make a bindrune Bindrunes can be used for anything in life you're looking to receive help with. Saving money, protecting your home, finding love or a new job. Whatever intent you have, a bindrune can exist for it. The materials you use will vary depending on how long you need the bindrune. For a one time ritual you can use paper or wood. For an extended use you can use wood, antler, clay or leather. For more permanent use, metal, rock or a tattoo. There's many other materials you can use but these are just examples. When creating your bindrune I recommend consecrating it afterwards. Once consecrated you can use it immediately in your ritual, leave it on your altar or carry with you. There is no "right" or "wrong" time to use it, just follow your intuition. Bindrunes can also be given as offerings to the God's and Goddesses. THE STEPS OF CREATING YOUR BINDRUNE: 1. Memorize each of the runes, their shape and meanings. I work with the Elder Futhark and memorized them by using flash cards. 2. Determine your intent of the bindrune. Do you need help saving money? Are you looking to find a bit more happiness in your life? Decide what you want to accomplish by creating this bindrune. 3. Pick your runes. Now that you have an intent, go through the runes and find which ones are most suiting for your needs. I recommend using 3-5 runes. More than this might make the bindrune unfocused. 4. Design the bindrune. Write your runes on a piece of paper and draw out several designs. Which combination calls to you the most? Which ever seems most suiting will be your bindrune. Often times after creating your bindrune you will find hidden runes within it. For instance, the Isa rune will always be within your bindrune. Check and see what other hidden runes are within your bindrune and if you need to adjust the runes. Also keep in mind there are runes with merkstave or "reversed" meanings. Merkstave meanings aren't necessary negative but give you insight on potential warnings. The Algiz rune flipped up-side-down will hold a different meaning than it does right-side-up so be mindful of how you're placing your runes. Not all runes will have merkstave meanings, here is a list of them: The shape of your bindrune can also vary. If you want to stack the runes, run them in a "line", or a circle to form a stave.
