One of the most recognizable artifacts from the Old Testament was the Ark of the Covenant. Although we don't know exactly what happened to the ark, we do have the specific instructions that God gave to Moses on how to construct it. This activity gives students the opportunity to read through God's instructions in Exodus 25, then they will answer 11 questions about the passage and follow the directions written in their packets (and the Bible) on how to construct their arks. In the end, students will have a scale model of the ark of the covenant (1 inch=1 cubit) along with the tablets of the covenant law inside the ark. This product includes: Teacher Directions: Prep Info and Materials Needed Teacher Procedure Activity Steps with Pictures Student Packet-Short reading, Bible verse references, 11 questions with directions and two pages of Ark pieces Student Packet Answers Teacher Tips To do this activity, students will need: Bible (can use laptops, if desired) Pencil Scissors Glue Yellow, orange and/or gold colored pencils or crayons (markers can work, but they tend make the paper droopy and more difficult to construct) Copy of "The Ark of the Covenant" student packet (INCLUDED) Check out these other Bible resources! Travel back in time to the Biblical era with this series of Bible MiniWorld depicting the life of Moses. This series of Bible MiniWorld will portray different events in the life of Moses, from his rescue from the Nile River while he was still a baby to the time of the Exodus leading the Hebrew nation out of bondage and out of Egypt to the Promised Land. Cut, fold and assemble this impressive paper model representing the Bible scene in which Moses confronts Pharaoh in his throne room. This large set, 37 cm long and wide by 16 cm high comes with 13 MiniPeople and many accessories, along with many parts to create the inside of the great hall, including thrones for Pharaoh and his queen. You will find complete instructions charts to guide you in the assembling of your model. Once you have downloaded this set, all you will need to do is print it (some pages on card-stock and others on normal paper, as indicated on the model instructions). Then with basic tools: sharp scissors or a paper cutting knife, a ruler, and simple white glue, you’ll be able to create this well-known Bible scene to complement and retell the exodus of the Hebrew people from bondage in ancient Egypt. With this set comes also a photo booklet illustrating the story using the actual model pieces. You can read the story with your children or use this as ideas to retell the story in your own words using the figures and scenery from the model. See the other Bible paper model in this series for additional scenes in the stories of Moses. This model can also be used for a school project or a diorama to illustrate an ancient Egypt scene in the time of one of the great Pharaohs. This Bible MiniWorld series is compatible with other MiniWorld sets (The Castle, The Dinosaur series). Once you have downloaded a set you can use different parts such as the terrain tiles or scenery to add to your other new sets; also you can print several copies of certain parts and assemble them in a variety of ways to create a larger set. http://www.mylittlehouse.org/ http://jacques-mylittlehouse.blogspot.fr/ http://miniworld-paper-toys.weebly.com/
