Zwei kleine Erdlinge, ihre Eltern vom Mars und ihr Montessori-Weg
Gemäß der Datenschutzverordnung kennzeichne ich diesen Beitrag mit Werbung Letztes Jahr wurde ich zu einem Montessori Kongress (AMI 0-3) in der Schweiz eingeladen, wo ich nicht nur einen Vortrag halten durfte, sondern unglaublich viele wertvolle Bekanntschaften schließen konnte. Unter anderem mit Katelynn, eine AMI Montessori Pädagogin für 0-3 aus den USA, die ich sofort ins Herz geschlossen habe. In besuchte ihren Workshop, wo sie wunderbare Tipps zur Vorbereiteten Umgebung zu Hause für die Allerjüngsten gab und auch mit unglaublich viel Respekt und Liebe über Kinder sprach. Katelynn lebt in Berlin und eröffnete kürzlich dort Deutschlands erstes Montessori Frühbildungszentrum: Montessori Mother ELC wo sie für junge Kinder und Eltern Montessori "Spielgruppen" anbietet. Katelynn ganz bald in Berlin zu besuchen steht bereits auf meiner ToDo-Liste, dennoch wollte ich Euch ihre schöne Einrichtung nicht so lange vorenthalten und bat sie um einige Fotos und um ein Interview. Liebe Katelynn, wie bist Du eigentlich zu Montessori gekommen? Mein Montessori Weg begann in Moskau, Russland als mir eine andere Lehrerin eine Kopie von „The Secret of Childhood*“ ("Kinder sind anders*“ auf Deutsch) von Dr. Maria Montessori gab. Einige Jahre später erhielt ich mein AMI 0-3 Diplom in St. Petersburg. Zurück in Moskau arbeitete ich privat mit Babys und Kleinkindern und half, die vorbereitete Umgebung einzurichten. Ich erstellte ein Instagram Profil, wo ich hauptsächlich Tipps zur Vorbereiteten Umgebung für zu Hause gab und Montessori Mother war geboren. Was spricht Dich am meisten an der Montessori Philosophie an? Das ist eine schwierige Frage, da ALLES an der Montessori Philosophie mich zutiefst anspricht. Aber vielleicht zusammengefasst das, dass Montessori eine Friedenspädagogik ist. Seit 100 Jahren haben Montessori Einrichtungen das Ziel, die Welt zu einem besseren Ort zu gestalten. All die Montessori Pädagogen geben ihr Wissen, ihr Herz und Vertrauen jeden Tag, damit Kinder zu frei denkenden, verantwortungsbewussten und kreativen Individuen heranwachsen können. Zu Persönlichkeiten, die ihren Platz in der Welt kennen und Vertrauen in ihre eigenen Fähigkeiten haben. Wenn ich mit Kleinkindern arbeite, erlebe ich das tagtäglich. Ich begleite in einer der Gruppen 10 Kinder, die in 10 verschiedenen Ländern geboren wurden und 10 verschiedene Sprachen lernen - und alle sitzen zusammen am Gruppentisch, geben das gleiche schöne Gebrabbel von sich, teilen Brot und Bananen und kümmern sich nicht um die Barrieren, die es auf der Welt gibt. Möchtest Du uns erzählen, wie Du dazu gekommen bist, Deine eigene Montessori "Spielgruppe" zu eröffnen? Als ich nach Berlin kam, war ich erstaunt, wie wenig hier Montessori verbreitet war. Ich konnte keine einzige Schule oder ein Zentrum finden, wo eine gute Montessori Umgebung für Kinder unter 3 Jahren angeboten worden wäre. Ich fragte in einer lokalen Facebook Gruppe, ob jemand Interesse an einer Montessori "Spielgruppe" hätte und traf auf eine Gemeinschaft aus enthusiastischen und unterstützenden Eltern. Ein Jahr später startete ich mit meinen sogenannten "Pop-Up" Montessori Kursen, was bedeutet, dass ich die Materialien und Ausstattung bei jedem Treffen in den gegebenen Räumlichkeiten selber mitnehmen und neu herrichten musste. Das war eine schwierige Zeit. Denn ich musste die komplette vorbereitete Umgebung mehrmals am Tag durch die ganze Stadt transportieren. Ich verbrachte mehr Zeit damit, Dinge in meinem Auto zu verstauen, dann alles wieder auszuräumen und im Gruppenraum zu arrangieren als ich Zeit als Pädagogin verbrachte. Und auch, wenn ich wusste, dass ich mit dieser vorbereiteten Umgebung vielen Kindern ein wertvolles Lernerlebnis ermöglichte, musste ich mich sehr darauf beschränken, wie viele Möbel und Materialien in mein Auto passten. Das wollte ich ändern und suchte einen Ort in zentraler Lage, an dem ich eine beständige, schön vorbereitete komplette Montessori Umgebung anbieten konnte. Am 20. März dieses Jahres war es dann soweit und ich eröffnete endlich das Montessori Mother ELC für 56 Familien und bin unglaublich froh darüber. Was ist zurzeit Deine liebste Aktivität mit den Kindern in Deinem Gruppenraum? Ich liebe es, eine Umgebung zur Verfügung zu stellen, in der die Kinder ihren Interessen folgen und neue Möglichkeiten entdecken können. Ein Material, auf das ich besonders stolz bin, ist unsere Werkbank, die von meinem Ehemann Chad gebaut wurde. Ich wusste bis vor Kurzem nicht einmal, wie man eine Säge richtig benutzt. Nun haben die Kinder die Möglichkeit, ihrem Interesse zu folgen und erfolgreich mit echtem Werkzeug zu arbeiten in einer sicheren Vorbereiten Umgebung. Es gibt 4 einzelne ausführliche Aktivitäten: Nägel hämmern, schrauben und Schrauben wieder entfernen, Löcher bohren und Holz sägen. Wie sieht so eine "Spielstunde" in Deiner Gruppe aus? Ich biete Montessori "Spielgruppen" für Babys (2-16 Monate) und für Kleinkinder (16 Monate bis 4 Jahre) an. Jede Stunde ist eine Kind-orientierte Arbeitsstunde mit Montessori Material, ein gemeinsames Essen am Gruppentisch und ein Musikkreis, bei dem Eltern und Kinder gemeinsam singen. Ich biete in meinem Zentrum 5 Räumlichkeiten an, die an die Kinder angepasst sind. Wir haben einen Garten, eine Küche, ein Badezimmer und 2 große Räume, in denen mit Material gearbeitet wird. Der erste ist für Aufgaben des täglichen Lebens, Kunst und Sprache. Der zweite ist für die Entwicklung groß- und feinmotorischer Fähigkeiten. Es war wichtig für mich, dass Eltern und Kinder einen schönen Ort zum Arbeiten haben, der an die Bedürfnisse beider gerichtet ist. Wo nicht nur die Kinder die Welt für sich entdecken, sondern wo auch Eltern sie dabei beobachten, bestaunen können und dadurch auch mehr Einblick in die Montessori Philosophie gewinnen können. Falls ihr in Berlin oder Umgebung wohnt und ein Kleinkind oder Baby zu Hause habt, kann ich Euch Katelynns Montessori "Spielgruppe" am Berlin-Prenzlauer Berg von ganzem Herzen empfehlen! Schon alleine wegen den Workshops, die sie Eltern anbietet und die Konzerte, die sie für die jungen Kinder vor Ort organisiert. The tables were packed this morning at craft group. Every now and then more people turn up than we have kits for, today was one of those days. To make one of these softly floating little angel mobiles you will need: 12 silk squares measuring roughly 12x12cm (what's that? about 5 and a bit inches), some gold thread or any other thread you fancy, a ring to hang them from - we used rattan...tho I was thinking that a long old tree branch would look nice too - with them all in a row. Some white fleece (stuffing wool), some strong thread to hang them ring with - we used linen thread. Oh! and a fine needle, scissors and some craft glue. First up cut 12 lengths of the gold thread - about 50cm each and have them in handy reach. Take a little bit of stuffing wool and form it into a tight ball in your hand; about the size of a small marble Then put the ball of fleece into the centre of your first silk square; bring the silk up around your 'head' and hold tight at the neck. Wrap a piece of gold thread twice around the neck and knot it twice too ~ leave as long a tail as possible. Thread your needle with the two tails and go in at the neck coming out right in the middle at the top of the head. Cut off your short tail level with the top of the head - careful not to snip your silk. Ok repeat for the other 11 bits of silk! Now cut three 50cm lengths of your linen thread and put to the side for a minute while you divide your ring into three...Not literally! Measure the outside of the ring and divide by three, make a small mark at each third. Fold your white thread in half - hold the loop end next to your mark on the ring and bring the two loose ends around the ring and through the loop, pull tight. When you have done all three, hold up your ring to check for balance. With all strings together, tie a knot at the top, and then a second one a couple of cm away from the first - this will act as a loop for hanging. Now for the fun bit. Find a place you can hang your ring from because it is so much easier to attach the angels at eye level than on a table. The order you hang your angels is completely up to you, I sang the little rainbow song on my head ~ Paint some red up in the sky, some orange and some yellow way up high, paint some green and blue, some indigo too, then paint some violet and what do you get? all the colours of the rainbow. Attach each angel by its gold thread to the ring with a knot. Space them evenly and make each angel's gold thread shorter than the last. Shuffle them a little if you need to until it is balanced, then cut the spare bit of gold thread from each one and dab a spot of glue on the threads where they attach to the ring. All done.
