If you’ve ever explained the concept of Monkeyshines to someone outside of Tacoma, there’s a good chance they just didn’t get it at first. It doesn’t really fit into any societal norms or customs and the idea of giving away art in as random and secretive way as possible just confuses some people. Personally, I think some people have just fallen so far into the depths of adulthood that they’ve simply forgotten how fun it is to find hidden treasure.

Design area measures 14' x 13 1/4" on 13 mesh canvas. I'm in my early 80's now, and recently found a trove of Needlepoint canvases I produced in the early 80's when I had a design studio in my home called AS YOU LIKE IT. I custom designed for others, and also made canvases which tickled my fancy, This Monkeyshines canvas is the latter. I had to remove old crumbling masking tape from all of the canvases, trim the edges, and apply new acid free art tape to the sides, so these are not "virginal." With that in mind, I have kept the prices as they were originally 42 years ago!
