IKEA is not only known for affordable stuff and easy-to-assemble furniture. It is also famous because of the Swedish Meatballs so it is also on my list to taste this popular meatball. I was disappointed when the Swedish meatballs were not available in IKEA Tachikawa so I was really looking forward to our Singapore trip. So for our third night, we went to IKEA Alexandra to eat our dinner. On the first floor, we only saw few tables and counters. I immediately checked the menu and I was sad because I only saw, chicken wings, ice cream, and hotdogs, hmmm same fate in Japan. I was excited to eat Swedish meatballs and then wala pala. So we just ate chicken wings, hotdog sandwiches, and ice cream. Again, self-service for the drinks and condiments. I was surprised when the cashier gave me IKEA tokens, so I needed to use them for my ice cream pala. We did not experience this in Japan. We just followed the instructions. When we went to the second floor, we saw the restaurant and nandun pala ang heavy meals so I told my husband that we will go back again. So before we went to the airport, we had late lunch at IKEA Alexandra. It was not easy to find a vacant table and the lines were very long so patience is a virtue. Pero deadma na because I really want to taste the meatballs. We ordered Swedish Meatballs, Salmon, Blueberry Cheesecake, Almond Cake, and drinks. I can’t remember the exact price of each meal but the bill is less than SGD30. Finally, natikman ko na rin Swedish meatballs, well the taste is just ok for me. It is good naman but my favorite is the salmon + hollandaise sauce. This dish made me remember my summer in Norway where salmon is just an ordinary dish. The Blueberry Cheesecake is good too. I think the Almond Cake is really yummy because it was gone in 60 seconds. We were surprised when my son finished everything and di man lang kami nakatikim. We wanted to order again pero ang haba talaga ng pila. Well, I really hope that we will have IKEA Philippines soon. Read: Shopping Haul at IKEA Alexandra 5 Days in Singapore

Are you taking a trip to New York City this holiday season? See this post for everything I wore during my girls' trip to NYC during christmas!
Opphaug is another village in Ørland municipality which is located on the south side of Bjugnfjorden. There are two places in Opphaug that we usually visit every time we are here in Norway, one is Døsvik Havn and one is Austrått. Døsvik Havn or Døsvik Harbor Ørland is surrounded by sea so if you are following my Norway trip posts, you’ll notice the seascape background. Each place that we visit has its own harbor and each havn or marina has its own beauty. One of our most visited harbors is Døsvik Havn, simply because we just like the colorful rorbu or holiday homes. Note: Rorbu is a traditional type of seasonal house used by fishermen in Norway. One part of the house is constructed on land and the other part is standing on the water using poles to have easy access to fishing vessels. Read: Døsvik Havn Austrått Havn or Austrått Harbor Austrått is one of the popular tourist spots in Ørland because it is where you can find the Austrått Manor which is one of the oldest manors in Norway. There are so many activities that you can do here like sea kayaking, golfing, fishing, sailing, biking, hiking, swimming, and other sports activities. If you are into leisure walking or history, you can also visit Austråttlunden, Austrått Fort, and Austråttborgen. Although you can visit this all year round, the best time is summer because you can join their guided tours and explore the Norwegian manor and former German fortress. You can read more about this in my post “Things to do in Austrått Norway” Last month, we had a chance to revisit but this time we went straight to Austrått Havn because there is something new here, there is already a viewing deck. Just like the other harbor that we visited, there are tables and benches too. According to their website, Austrått Harbor is run by the Ørland Boat Club and their clubhouse is open to boat guests during the summer season. They have the following services. Free - Space at guest jetty within 3 hours 150 NOK per day - Space at the guest jetty for leisure boats 250 NOK per day - Space for commercial traffic 20 NOK - Electricity 20 NOK - Shower 30 NOK - Washing machine 20 NOK - Dryer Storjektvika A few minutes' walk from the harbor, you can find a sandy beach with a viewing deck too “Storjektvika”. During summer days, you can do sunbathing, play volleyball or football or swim if you can take the seawater temperature. Read: Places to Visit in Ørland for Free
Hubby went to Cebu last week, I was tempted to book a flight so we can spend our long weekend in Cebu. But I need to practice self-control since I’m saving for our next home project. Anyway, I’m still happy because hubby bought our favorites from Cebu, which are lechon and danggit. Well, let me reminisce about our 2 Days Trip in Cebu. Six years ago, I celebrated my birthday in Cebu. It was my advance birthday celebration since my husband could only take a one-day leave. We only have two whole days to enjoy our trip. We stayed in Fuente Oro Business Suites, it is a budget hotel that offers basic accommodation with breakfast. Since we arrived at 6AM, the room is not yet ready so we left our luggage and started our DIY Cebu City Tour. DIY Cebu City Tour We took a jeep to Basilica De Sto Niño where we will start our walking tour. From the church, we just walked to Plaza Sugbo, Magellan’s Cross, City Hall, Malacañang sa Sugbo, and Fort San Pedro. After exploring Fort San Pedro, we went straight to Taoist Temple. We rode a jeep and habal-habal, and from the gate we walked to the temple. It is better to take a taxi and let the driver wait for you. On our way back, we were lucky to get a taxi kasi ang hirap mag-abang. We thought that we were going to walk back to Julie’s Shop. Ang layo talaga nun, naghabal-habal nga kami nung papunta. Next stop, we ate at Casa Verde so we can taste their famous ribs. Then we went back to the hotel and took a nap. We did not continue our tour anymore because it was raining so we just had a quick trip at Crown Regency. We just watch 4D movie because I’m afraid of heights so I did not try the skywalk or sky ride. Read: DIY Cebu City Tour Mactan City Tour The following day, we woke up early so we can go to Taboan Market. Our trip in Cebu won’t be complete without buying pasalubong like danggit and dried mango. Then we ate breakfast and off we went to Mactan so we can see Lapu-Lapu Monument, Mactan Shrine and Magellan’s Marker. The famous Sutukil was also there but we did not eat there because we have complimentary buffet lunch at Shangri-la. Read: DIY Mactan City Tour Day in Paradise in Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa We had a day trip at Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa, the day trip package is from 8-9PM which is perfect for our evening flight. We really had a memorable experience in Shangri-la so last year, I inquired about their day trip and overnight package but the day trip was not available at that time. The overnight package was so steep for our budget so we just stayed at Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan. Read: Day Trip in Shangri-la Mactan Hopefully, we can stay in Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa because I’m sure my son will enjoy their Kid’s Play Area which was not included in our Day Trip Package before. It was a short trip but we enjoyed it. Read: Things to do in Cebu Food Trip in Cebu Cebu's Lechon

The first time we visited this Lighthouse, (about 20 years ago) It was about ready to fall into Lake Superior from the severe erosion. The Lighthouse now has been saved and beautifully restored. Getting to this landmark requires quite an adventure; the closest town is about 40 miles and getting there is by logging roads and two-tracks.
