Hello!!! Got a couple of cards to share today. First up is a card for the current Essentials by Ellen pin-sights challenge. I pulled out Mondo Peonies and embossed the largest flower on watercolor paper using platinum embossing powder. I checked the color palette for the pin-sights challenge and pulled out the light purple color for my flower. I used a light purple ZIG and did some simple watercoloring. Once the flower was mostly dry I trimmed it out with my scissors. Since the flower wasn't completely dry when it was trimmed out as it finished drying it curled up a bit which looks really pretty in real life. The layout is based on the sketch at Fab Friday. I partially embossed the top portion of my white cardstock piece before layering on a strip of light blue vellum and a strip of gold glitter cardstock. The flower was then layered on top to finish. I thought about a sentiment but decided to put one on the inside at a later date and just let the flower be the star of the show. I think I will also post this to the current Time Out challenge. The second card is for the current MFT sketch challenge, as well as the current MFT color challenge. I will admit to having a bit of trouble figuring out how to use the colors in the MFT palette, but finally came up with this card. I pulled out the Beautiful Butterflies stamp set and stamped the butterflies using the Orange Fizz and Persimmon colors. The frame was die cut from Grout Gray cardstock using my Spellbinders square dies. The top panel was watercolored using a two blue ZIGs and then trimmed down with a border die once the panel was dry. I attached the panel with some removable adhesive so I could get the sentiment from the You Give Me Butterflies stamp set in the right spot and stamped on the card base. I then attached the panel, the frame and the butterflies. I finished things off with some Nuvo Jewel Drops in Sea Breeze. Have a wonderful day! Supplies: Cardstock: white, SSS fog; MFT grout gray, Ranger watercolor, light blue vellum, MFT gold glitter; Stamps: Essentials by Ellen, My Favorite Things; Dies: Spellbinders, A Jillian Vance Design; Nuvo Jewel Drops; Inks: MFT Orange Fizz, PTI Terra Cotta Tile; VersaFine Smoky Gray; Watercolor medium: ZIGs

Each week we see fantastic projects featuring My Favorite Things product, and we're always so thrilled to see what our customers and followers are creating! Today, we'd like to shine the spotlight on some awesome projects that have caught our attention in another edition of You've Been Spotted. Sit a spell and get ready to ooooooh and aaaaah over some of the cool designs we've noticed recently. If you see your project featured, feel free to post this image on your blog and link to this post to show the world that you were spotted by My Favorite Things! Allison Cope Israels It may be autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, but Allison's cute card celebrates endless summer. I love her stack of cuties from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set! Jill Dewey Hawkins Jill used an all white background created with the Stitched Cover-Up Companion - Diagonal Die-namics to feature a colorful word created with one of our alphabets. Add some texture with glossy accents and stitching! Laura Sterckx Laura created a sweet card with our Magical Unicorns stamp set. I love how she used the sun from the set to create the cheery background. The vellum overlay gives it a dreamy look. Houston McGuirk Houston's sweet card just feels like fall. I love the warm colors she's chosen and the playful scene she created with the Harvest Mouse stamp set and Die-namics. Xenia Rizova Xenia created this card for Sketch 284 awhile back, but I just love it! What pretty inspiration for creating your Christmas cards this year. This Saturday is World Card Making Day — the kick off to holiday card season — so this is your official permission to craft all day long! Thanks for using MFT, ladies! You've left us inspired, and that's what it's all about! See you tomorrow for another great Sketch Challenge, and look for the next MFT Color Challenge on Thursday, October 13th. Our April release included the debut of the 28th Die-namics in the Blueprints series, and it is all kinds of awesome! This week we're going to learn some of the clever and inventive ways that you can use Blueprints 28. The main frame of Blueprints 28 features stitching on the outside and a semi-circle notch at the bottom, but there’s more than meets the eye. The inside top of the rectangle scores rather than cuts, creating a fun flap. Layer the stitched circles over the notch and tuck a gift card or a cute image behind the clever window opening. Today's video will give you a creative idea of how to use this innovative Die-namics. Stephanie shares a cute project originally made by My Favorite Things Creative Team Member Torico and shows the Blueprints 28 Die-namics in action. Watch the video below or click HERE to watch it on YouTube. Don't forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel so that you don't miss a single tutorial! The first time I saw this video, my head was spinning with all of the fun things that can be done with it! Let's take a look at a few examples of other creative ways to use Blueprints 28 in your designs. Julia uses Blueprints 28 to create an absolutely lovely card in pinks and grays. The circle at the notch is a fun place to add a little something extra like the button that Julia incorporated. And here's a peek at the inside of Julia's card. So pretty! She used other elements from the Blueprints 28 Die-namics got create a shaker inside. Inge's take on Blueprints 28 is more masculine in her color choices. You can see that she added a paw print on the circle. Just imagine the possibilities! And here's what the inside of Inge's card looks like! Like Julia, she created a shaker with an adorable image and sentiment from the Cool Cat stamp set. Yoonsun uses the flap of Blueprints 28 as a place to feature pretty stamped flowers from the Build-able Bouquet stamp set. She keeps the outer portion more muted to focus the eye on the flap. And look what Yoonsun has inside! What a fun spot to hide a gift card for the recipient! You'll notice that she has tied the flap and the frame together with a little bit of twine to make sure that the gift card doesn't fall out. You will LOVE Blueprints 28. Once you get your hands on it, we can't wait to see what you create! Be sure to tag #mftstamps when you post your projects online. We can't wait to see what you've made! From family farms to a sprawling ranches, today's offerings will help you celebrate the the joy of rural living with sweet critters and hard-working hands....
Yesterday I could find some time to go to my craft room, a little me time. I really don't want to complain because in one hand I enjoy that my family is at home but I have more work to serve them, to feed them constantly and to be a teacher, a tutor for my daughter. So here is my bookmark. I cut out a tag with the MFT Die-Namics Stitched Traditional Tags. I used the biggest one. Then I coloured the background with Ranger Distress inks and Distress Oxide inks. Then I spattered the sky part with diluted white acrylic paint. I stamped the branch from the MFT Owlways stamp set with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink, then I coloured with Ranger Distress markers. The dragon is part of the Birdie Brown Magical Dragons stamp set and was stamped on Neenah Solar White Paper with MFT Chocolate Hybrid ink. Then I coloured with Copic Sketch markers. I fussy cut the image and glued on the tag. With my tag, I would like to join the MFT current sketch challenge, the Wednesday Sketch Challenge 488. I hope you like it!!! Thank you for stopping by!!!

Hi there everyone! Just one more day to go to the June Vault Release at MFT Stamps! We are bringing back some retired Birdie Brown stamp sets this month, I'm so excited! Just love these sets! I'm sharing a card today featuring the amazing You're Super stamp set! Just one more day to go, these stamps will all be available in the store tomorrow! I started this card with a white card base in A2 size. I then added a front panel which I diecutted with the largest die from the A2 Stitched Rectangles Stax. I started blending a fun background for the cutest super hero ever! I blended a sky using blue colours and yellow, to mimic a city with lights at night. I added some rays of light, shining into the sky featuring the Ray of Light Stencil. I then blended the bottom and stamped the fun buildings from the set directly on to my background using black ink. I then stamped the amazing girl and text cloud, diecutted them and coloured the girl with Copic Markers. Thank you so much for watching today, hope to see you next time!

Hello friends! It's time for this month's "Just Add Color" feature from My Favorite Things! This is one of my favorite features. I love coloring and find it so relaxing. I colored up a few of the stamp sets from this month's release and I'm simply going to share them with you along with all the colors that I used. I'm no coloring expert and I usually just go with my gut when choosing colors, but I hope that this will help some of you when you're looking to color your own images. Happy Wednesday, friends! We're coming at you with another great sketch to get your creative juices flowing. We hope you'll take the time to participate in this week's challenge. Below you'll find Sketch 242. Create cards, scrapbook layouts, home decor, treat containers, mixed media, etc. using this week's sketch and be sure to link your project below for a chance at the weekly My Favorite Things Gift Voucher worth up to $20. Say hello once again to Danielle Flanders our August Guest Designer. We're so glad that she's been able to fit some MFT time into her busy schedule! Danielle has an eye for pretty things. With two little girls, she loves to fill her house with all sorts of girly things. You can definitely see that portrayed in her lovely designs. If you're on Pinterest, you can follow Danielle to see the things she's pinning — from sewing to photography to all sorts of glorious paper crafting techniques, there's much to inspire on Danielle's boards. And while you're at it, be sure to follow My Favorite Things for all of your favorite products used in clever and fantastic ways! Let's look at how Danielle interpreted this week's sketch: The beauty of this week's sketch is its simplicity allowing a myriad of interpretations. Danielle stamped the sentiment from the Encouraging Words stamp set in Versamark ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder to create a resist. She then lightly traced an oval with pencil around the sentiment to resemble the oval in the sketch and watercolored over the white embossed sentiment inside the oval. For the rest of the card, she created her own background with watercolor pencils. The leaves were drawn with a green pencil first, then the little flowers colored with various watercolor pencils. Finally she used a tiny bit of water on a clean brush to smooth out the flowers and add a yellow background in the spaces between the flowers. What a lovely result! The Challenge Team is at it again with inspiring creations. Let's see how they interpreted Sketch 242! Alice shifted the meat of the sketch to the right and used the doily as the oval of the sketch. It's a perfect place to feature the Coffee Cup Die-namics stamped and colored BEAUTIFULLY with florals from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set. Erin Lee interpreted the oval as a festive balloon which she cut with the adorable patterned paper from the Dots & Stripes Fresh paper pack. The cute bear takes the place of the circle in the sketch. You'll notice he is on the right of her card rather than the left because he is then looking in to the design. Jill concentrated on the circle and flag of the sketch in this die cut dream. Though there is no oval to be seen, the arrows of the Four Way Chevron Cover-Up Die-namics give the illusion of an oval, and the word bubble and sentiment give an extra dose of fun to her design. And does anyone else's wrist ache a little bit just thinking about all of the die cutting that Jill did? I thought so. Miriam used the oval to highlight a lovely Hawaiian princess from the Polynesian Paradise stamp set. She sticks pretty closely to the sketch with her sentiment and pretty flowers emulating the circle and flag of the original sketch. Vera put the Tiki Hut Die-namics to work as the oval of the sketch, and she turned the sketch on its side to accommodate her fresh and sunny scene. The sentiment is shrunk and shifted to the right, but her enamel dot gives a nod to the circle in the sketch. Veronica pulls off a lovely design with lots of delicious background stamping on her oval and the card base. The circle becomes the perfect spot for a sweet bouquet of pretty roses, and the sentiment tops off this special creation. Congratulations, Wanda Cullen! Use the Selfie Square Die-namics to die cut the images included in the Picture Perfect stamp set from Birdie Brown, leaving a fine border around the image. Alternatively, create a window for framing the images that features stitched detailing around the perimeter. The Selfie Square Die-namics measures approximately 2.25 x 2.25 inches.
It’s the height of summer fun and the perfect time to impart some dreamy beach landscapes into your card making. Wide swathes of sun, sand, and sea provide the perfect backdrop for activity-packed scenes as well as relaxing tableaus. Join the team this month as they share slimline cards featuring an inviting beach theme. I love creating a good beach scene and the slimline format gives you so much more real estate to play with, so I pulled out ALL the stops on this card :) To begin, I cut Sweet Tooth card stock with Slimline Starter Die-namics, Then, using Lazy Day dye ink and Slimline Cloud Edges Stencil, I created my sky, stamped the sentiment, and adhered it directly to a Sweet Tooth card stock base. Next I cut Slimline Ocean Motion twice and Slimline Stitched Snow Drifts Die-namics from Ken Oliver card stock and applied watercolor washes with Peerless Watercolors. I spattered with water and ink and white craft ink, then, to show that snow in a jar is not just for snow, I applied some to all the wave points to simulate foam. These were all adhered directly to the card front. The images were stamped on No Line Coloring card stock with Extreme Black hybrid ink, cut out with the coordinating Die-namics, and colored with Copic markers. Once the were arranged and popped up on foam tape, it was done! And there you have it! Now it’s YOUR turn to play! Remember, you can get all the details by visiting the MFT Blog.
