Hi there stamping friends! Thanks for stopping here at my blog. Today I'm playing along with the sketch challenge over at the Global Design Project #446 | #GDP446 | Sketch Challenge. It's been a white since I've played along over at the GDP but was super keen to join their sketch challenge for this week. As soon as I saw the sketch over on Instagram I had a few ideas swirling around in my head. I had just recieved an order from Stampin' Up! a few days ago with the amazing Mediterannean Blooms Suite and knew that is what I wanted to use for my card today. I've predominantly used the Mediterranean Blooms DSP for this card. I'm so loving the blue and white DSP patterns and when you combine a couple of these patterns together they make for an amazing project. Doesn't the DSP look like those Mediterranean blue-and-white tile designs? I love it! On the other side of the blue and white DSP designs is are beautiful images of blossoming lemons and oranges. These citrus fruits make a beautiful contrast to the blue and white and are beautiful to fussy cut and use on their own, on the front of your card, like what I've done here. I've layered the lemon image on one of the Spotlight on Nature circles and a foliage die cut from the Citrus Blooms Dies. Due to the busy-ness of the amazing DSP I thought the card didn't need much else other than some Linen Thread, some Opal Rounds and the heat embossed Happy Birthday Sentiment that comes from the Friends for Life Stamp Set. Did I say I'm loving this DSP? I'm sure there will be more project using this stunning paper. Thanks so much for stopping by! Happy Stamping! Live in Australia? I love having new Designer Series Paper to play with, and I have to say that this year's batch is pretty awesome. This week I'll be sharing cards made with the Mediterranean Blooms DSP. It has beautiful citrus fruits on one side and gorgeous blue tiled patterns on the other. On this card I used the Spotlight on Nature dies to frame my oranges (cut from the DSP). The only stamping on this card is the sentiment - courtesy of the very versatile Simply Said stamp set. You'll definitely be seeing a lot of this set! Thanks for stopping by! These Diamond Fold Cards are so easy to make. There are lots of different designs for this fold but I like this one because it’s pretty and simple to make.
Now that my Cards-by-Mail have been received by my customers, I thought I would show you the cards they are making. The first one features the beautiful Mediterranean Blooms Designer Series Paper, which will be available for purchase on May 1st. The Daffodil Delight layer is embosses with the soon-to-be-retired Sweet Citrus hybrid embossing folder, one of my favorites! Another retiring product: the Garden Green frame was cut with the Scalloped Contours dies, and then the DSP was layered onto it. It was fun to bring in the little lemon, one of the dies in the Simply Sparkling set. It tied into the paper so well! The retiring products sale is in full swing, with many items already gone. Step into a world of vibrant colors and endless inspiration with Stampin' Up!'s Mediterranean Blooms Suite. I recently created a project using this stunning collection, and I'm excited to share it with you! Mediterranean Vibes Inspired by the beauty of Capri, I used the Mediterranean Blooms DSP to create a card that evokes memories of sun-soaked streets and painted blue tiles. Crafting Details Starting with a night of navy card base, I added a layered of DSP. Fussy-cutting lemons from another sheet added freshness to the design. Sentimental Touches Using the Citrus Blooms stamp set, I stamped a sentiment on night of navy cardstock, embossed it in white, and layered it with a complementary sentiment in basic white. Over the weekend,I hosted a 'this or that?' question that generated a lot of responses - and I couldn't be happier. If you missed that post, you can see it here. It seems, to me, we are evenly split between punch-lovers and die-lovers. I thought it only fair to share

Hello there stamping friends! Welcome and thanks for joining me on my blog today. Today I'm participating in a blog hop for CASE-ing the Catty, to kick off the new challenge for the week. If you've come here from Peta's blog welcome, if you've started here with me also welcome. To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit. And this week we are CASE-ing our choice of sketches that are found on Pg. 22 of the Stampin' Up! 2024 - 2025 Annual Catalogue. There are 22 sketches so I'm sure there is at least one that inspires you. If you've been following me here for a while you'll know that I love a sketch challenge. I think because I find them the easiest of all the challenges and I usually get a whole heap of different ideas flowing so its easy to get crafting with a sketch. I also say that a sketch is more of a guide or starting point and I usually end up changing something from the sketch. I try to keep the basic design principles of the sketch but sometimes things need to be changed to suit the project better. I was really drawn to this grid like sketch when trying to decide on what sketch I was going to use. I wanted to use one of the sketches that was a little bit of a different design as to what I normally do when creating cards and this was it. I've used the grid design to create my own background using strips of Basic Black and Basic White. I do love a Black and White stripe and thought that this would go perfectly with the orange colourings of the oranges from the Mediterranean Blooms DSP. I've made a couple of projects recently with Blue and White combined with the Mediterranean Blooms Citrus images, which I love but I'm also loving this black and white colour combo with the citrus images too. I've used a few layers of Basic White under the striped grid and then fussy cut the orange image to make it the main focus of the card. I love that with these images they are the 'star of the show' and you don't need to put much else with them if you don't want to. Me, of course, had to add some extra die cuts and some ribbon and trim. A card isn't a card without these things in my book. I've layered one of the Citrus Blooms foliage die cuts, Linen thread and the Black & Very Vanilla Large Check to coordinate with the card. Can't go without that Linen Thread. I finished the card off with a little 'Hello' banner with a ruffled ribbon edge and some Opal Rounds embellishments. This is where I differ from the sketch a little. A banner placed on the card like in the sketch just wouldn't work in my book but put on the card down a little bit is a much better placement. I hope that I've inspired you with my take on this sketch and make sure you check out all the sketches on Pg. 22 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. These sketches are a great way to get that crafting mojo going especially if you are in a crafting slump. Why not try an use all 22?! There are lots of AMAZING creations from the rest of the CASE-ing the Catty Crew so be sure to make your way around the whole hop to get inspiration from the CTC team. Next up on the hop is Michelle Strazds with her amazing take on one of the sketches. Keep hopping around to see all of the design team’s creations. We would love to have you join us over at our Facebook group to share your creation CASE-ing a project from the 2024 - 2025 Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and join in this weeks challenge. The layout is perfect for large images such as these beautiful lemons I cut out from the Mediterranean Blooms Designer Sereis Paper from Stampin’ Up. It includes 6 12x12 double sided papers and you get 2 of each, here is a small sample of each pattern. I love the blue mediterranean tiles patterns on one side and the bright lemon and oranges on the other. I also love that you can fussy cut out the fruit and use it in place of stamps like I did on my cards. I coordinated the paper with two blues, Night of Navy and Boho Blue. The circle die is from the Spotlight on Nature Dies. I love how they all have beautiful details along the edges. The greeting is from the Wonderful Thoughts Stamp Set and cut out with the coordinating Dies. As a part of her Creative Team, I get a sneak peek at her templates and then get to design and share my cards with you.
