As I mentioned in my previous post, I have received several emails requesting templates for the foldables shown in my Student Project Display post. Most of those emails specifically request a template for the Cells Foldable shown below. Again, I don't have a template, but I can walk you through a tutorial of how to make the foldable. Remember, my students were AMAZING so they were able to create these images all on their own... Students were given the following check list and grading rubric. Step 1: Holding an 8 1/2" x 11" paper horizontally, fold both ends in so they meet, but do not overlap. Step 2: Draw, color, and label the outside left flap as a plant cell and the outside right flap as an animal cell. OR use the following template pre-printed for students to color and label. Step 3: With your paper flat (flaps open), you will have three sections formed by your folds. The far left section will be for plant cell differences, the far right section for animal cell differences, and the center for similarities between plant and animal cells. In each of these sections, cell organelles will be listed and defined. And that's it! Easy peasy! Again, if your students are not AMAZING artists like mine were, just use the template included above. Inspired by the Easter Story Wreath I saw at Oriental Trading (pictured below), I thought it'd be fun to draw my own version for kids to color, cut and assemble! I wanted to include Pentecost in my wreath (it's not included in the one above) and also add scripture verses to make it tell the Easter story in better detail. (And by-the-way, I really didn't care for the "happy hippy" Jesus in their wreath--I mean, he's SMILING during the agony in the garden? Really?) So anyway, here is my own version of an Easter Story Wreath. Please feel free to print as many as you like! There are three documents to print (2 image docs and one scripture egg doc). To assemble the wreath simply print, color and cut out the images. For a wreath base I used a large circle (approx. 11 1/2 " in diameter) cut from a 12" x 12" piece of cardstock: I arranged the pictures to "tell" the story from Palm Sunday (starting on the top right) through Pentecost (placed in the top center). If you're interested in making this wreath I'm sure you're already very familiar with the order of the events, but I will go ahead and list them just in case: 1. Jesus enters Jerusalem (palm branch and donkey pictures) 2. The Last Supper (bread and wine pictures) 3. Jesus Prays in Gethsemane (praying hands picture) 4. Jesus is Crucified (cross picture) 5. Resurrection (empty tomb picture) 6. Ascension (Jesus in clouds picture) 7. Holy Spirit Comes Down (dove and flames pictures) Here is an example of an assembled wreath will look like: I overlapped some of the pictures on top of each other to make them fit nicely--feel free to arrange them however you like! Glue stick or Glue Dots work well to affix the pictures to the wreath base. If you experience this, you can try editing the document to re-arrange the order of the "egg shape" to send it to the back. This has fixed the issue for most people. I hope that helps. If you are still unable to print the eggs with scripture in them, you can also print the text separately and simply cut and paste it onto the blank eggs. After a huge break from scrapping, I have finally created something scrap-wise. Apart from a little bit of crafting and teaching at some local retreats, I have really done nothing for nearly 3 years. Daring to set foot in my craft room with the intention of a huge clean-up (read:clean out), the itch to play started to return. Seeing the sketch for this month's Scrap The Girls Challenge blog piqued my interest, and because of an extended break from work after contracting whooping cough and being on home quarantine, I decided to have a go. Here is my take on the challenge... And here is the sketch from Scrap The Girls... I've used the stunning papers and some embellies from the Cocoa Vanilla Bohemian Dream range. I am so in love with the designs from this awesome Aussie scrap company and bought this range hot off the press a year ago whilst on retreat, but have never gotten around to using them. I got snails in a can (no fresh here in the US generally) in the tuna section of the supermarket. I do low carb, so I used Dreamfields Pasta, which is very good and tastes exactly like the regular stuff.

I have a lot of pictures, so settle in and enjoy :) First up, a sweet pink number with the dogwood branch image. I stamped it on Neenah Classic Crest Cover, Solar White Smooth, 110lb paper with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored it with Copic markers. The sentiment was stamped with Black Licorice ink… …as was the sentiment on the inside, from a previously released set, Inspired by Spring. I love how so many MFT sets work so well together. Next, I used the front porch scene. Ahhhh, looks so Inviting and hopefully soon I can be sitting on MY front porch :) I chose not to color this image for this card. I stamped it with Black Licorice ink and cut it out with a Die-namics Circle STAX die, then matted it with another size, finally adding a Die-namics Open Scallop Doily for the bottom mat. The sentiment was stamped on a Die-namics Notched Tag die cut and tucked up under a Bubblegum button. Here’s the inside with another sentiment from this set. For this card, I used the potted tulips multiple times. I stamped the center one, then covered it with masking tape. Then I stamped the ones on either side and colored them all with Copic markers. Here’s a close up of the stamped and colored images. I decided to keep the rest of the card pretty simple by wrapping around some hemp cord and tying on a Gumdrop Green button after stamping the sentiment. Since Spring is a time for new beginnings, I used a sentiment from Clearly Sentimental About New Beginnings on the inside. My last card also uses the tulips. I made my base card out of Copic friendly paper then trimmed a piece of Sweet Tooth card stock for the top layer. I cut out a Die-namics Circle STAX opening and temporarily attached it to the base. Then carefully stamped the tulips onto the base card, removed the top layer and colored the image. Next I stamped the sentiment on the top layer, popped it up on the base with foam, and added some black gems. Here’s a close up of the tulips. For the inside of this card I chose another sentiment from Inspired by Spring. And that’s it for this release! Thanks so much for stopping by!
