Here's something to get your Saturday night going: Celery Gimlets! Friends came over for happy hour yesterday and I whipped up this drink as an experiment. Turns out the sweet-and-slightly-savory combo of fresh celery juice, gin and elderflower liqueur makes for a highly refreshing treat! Reserve a few celery ribs—with leaves—for garnish. The delicate fronds look so chic leaning against the rim of a cocktail glass (or jelly jar in this case). I made the celery juice myself, no juicer required! But if you keep your eyes peeled, you may also find it at the grocery store. It's been all over the place recently. Anyway! Here's a quick video and, of course, the recipe... CELERY GIMLET MAKES: 1 drink 3 ounces gin 2 ounces celery juice 2 ounce fresh lime juice 1 ounce simple syrup 1 ounce elderflower liqueur 2 to 3 dashes celery bitters Put all ingredients in a large glass with ice; stir 1 minute or until very cold. Strain into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with celery, if desired. Can't find celery juice? Put 6 to 7 stalks celery (torn into pieces) in a blender and add enough water to get things going. Puree until smooth, then strain through a fine-mesh sieve pushing out the liquid.
