I’m still working on this weeks Project Life. Why haven’t I finished it? Mostly because we’ve been enjoying a little bit of the nicer weather outside, hauling wood, “winterizing” everything outside, and working on these. It’s October now so I can bust out the Halloween decorations and no one can tell me it’s too early. It’s never too early but I wait until October 1st anyway so game one now. Out come the witches, cobwebs and spiders. I’m also working on my new Halloween wreath and if all goes well you’ll see it soon. Meanwhile check out my new set of Halloween themed Project Life Journaling Cards and 4×6 Cards. You can download them here.
Hello my dear friends, I just couldn't resist to create another little pumpkin yesterday, since three is not a crowd but a gathering and that is what I am sharing with all you Lovelies today. It is the smallest of my set of three pumpkins now and so sweet. I made it from a lovely muslin that I bought in Michigan a few months ago. And this is it ... my newest little pumpkin. It is such a sweet little pumpkin and it goes perfectly together with the other two that I have made as you will send at the end of this post. The muslin is of a high quality and it also looks so pretty, unfortunately I am not sure that it will show up on the photo for you to see. And here are my three little pumpkins together ... take a look! Now all I have to do is to find a nice spot for them to live. Whilst working on my latest little pumpkin, I couldn't stop myself from making a few more of these neat little fruits but this time I made them more traditional in color and with a specific purpose but that is all for another post. Thank you for taking the time to visit me today ~ it is always so nice when you do. I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind. Have a peaceful and creative day.

The Bärlis, mini fabric bears, 8 cm, sewn from cotton fabric, filled with organic sheep's wool, the face embroidered, and everything decorated in pink and light blue with wool bows, decorative buttons and tiny little crocheted pockets, plus a crocheted doily and everything cutely packaged in a white gift bag with flower stickers, without the cuddly toys and decorative hearts. The Bärlis are my declaration of love to my dear little bears, who have been in front of my camera for 17 years, always with a smile on their faces. They are called "Kleinbärli", brown bear, and their little brother "Wuschel", yellow bear. And the "Bear Shop" is dedicated to them. And I think everyone who calls a little bear their own will understand me. https://derbaerchenladen.etsy.com According to small business status §19 UStG I do not charge VAT. Hello, all! Just quickly popping in to share a couple cards I whipped up in 10 minutes flat today. Same basic idea as on this card, but with a bit more color. This time around, I stamped the Mat Stack #2 Collection image in Raspberry Fizz onto a white card base. The sentiment is from 2010 Love Tags. Stamped another in Plum Pudding and used a sentiment from Asian Fusion. Then finished off both cards with rhinestones, matching ribbon and a rounded bottom corner. For instructions on how to create this doily look, click here and scroll towards the bottom of the blog post. Thanks for stopping by, have a wonderful one! Maile Mr & Mrs and Birthday Wishes: Stamps: Mat Stack #2 Collection, 2010 Love Tags & Asian Fusion Ink: Plum Pudding & Raspberry Fizz Cardstock: White Accessories: Raspberry Fizz Grosgrain Ribbon, Plum Pudding Satin Ribbon, Rhinestones & Corner Rounder
Originally designed as a wedding gift for two dear friends and inspired by their love of sailing, Zephyr’s dynamic lines and graphic motifs lend a contemporary feel to a traditional eight-wedge doily. A knitted-on edging further updates the piece, eliminating any need for a crocheted bind-off or sewn border, as well as providing enough stretch for the doily to block out to its full potential. Directions are both written and charted. (Sample shown was knit with Knit Picks Curio in color Natural.)
Hello Dear Friends! I hope that you are having a lovely week so far! Over the weekend I started a little early spring cleaning and redecorating. I was excited to finally get my little collection of vintage trays hung on the wall. I used paper clips and hot glue, and so far so good! I am on the hunt for some red and pink trays to add, which seem to be a little harder to find. I ventured to a few thrift stores which ended up being pretty bare of goodies, except one! I came home with another gardenia tray to add to the wall, a sweet milk glass cinnamon spice bottle, and a pretty floral plate. These cute Juvenile Jamboree transfers were a great ebay find! And, some of these cuties will be stitched up for the shoppe for some new items coming March. This is another little wall collection that is growing. I want to eventually add some vintage rose/floral needlepoints and floral paintings to it, but the prices at estate sales never seem to be in my budget, and I haven't been lucky at thrift stores, so the hunt continues! This cute little shelf has been waiting to be hung, and I am happy it is finally up and filled with some sweet treasures! Some crocheted pot holders I made awhile back, and framed vintage style floral postcards that I used for the save-the-dates for our wedding almost 4 years ago coming this April. My project list has been put on hold while I work on some orders and new items for the shoppe, but I did cut some squares for my next hexie flower, and will have to sneak in some time to make it. We are supposed to have a lot of rain the rest of the week, so it will be good to stay in and work away. Wishing you all a most lovely and crafty week!
Hello my dear friends, I was recently contacted by a lovely lady, asking me if I would 'do my magic' to some of her found treasures and I happily agreed to do so. She sent me her treasures, four of them and I went to work a few days later. Of course, just I have done before or rather not ... I didn't take and pictures of the pieces before I started to work on them. I must remind myself to do so in the future. I was give a free hand on what to do, the only thing I had to keep in mind which the colors that were requested .. naturals, beiges, creams, maybe even black and very muted colors. The search began to find the right bits and pieces. I wanted to make sure each pincushion had it's own theme but also wanted to make sure they all still went well together. All four pincushions are now finished and I am so happy to share them with all of you. Treasure no.1 ... ... the base was a little tarnished creamer that unfortunately had it's handle broken off whilst on it's journey to me but that didn't stop it from becoming this lovely pincushion. The pincushion itself is made from a linen and wool fabric, embellished with an old piece of crochet lace, a bow made from crinkled seam binding and a vintage broach. Treasure no. 2 ... ... the base for this pincushion was a little tarnished toothpick holder and sits on a wishing bone and a little bird is hugging up to it. It is such a delightful piece. I actually have the same one and love it so much. I made the pincushion from a pale drop cloth and embellished it with an old piece from a doily and again a little bow made from crinkled seam binding. Three of my lovely old and tatty velvet violets complete this neat piece. Treasure no. 3 ... ... for this one I had a large chalice as the base. Again I used drop cloth, my favorite one in a gray shade, as the pincushion itself. Two small strawberries also made from drop cloth with little caps of old tatting hang off one side. A crochet leaf, crinkled seam binding bow and a little piece of vintage jewelry make this pincushion complete and a lovely too. And finally ... Treasure no. 4 ... ... was a piece of jewelry with a gem in it center. It became the cap for this strawberry pincushion. It didn't need more than an little old doily and a few stitches to make this little pincushion perfect and complete. It is partially filled with crushed walnut shells and fibrefill. The walnut shells will keep any little needle sharp. They all look so very lovely and I couldn't be happier with how they all turned out. This was a first for me, to have pieces sent to me and create with them. I must say I really enjoyed doing this. My other custom order ... ... was for one of my little lavender sachets with seam binding roses. It is going a new home together with my newest needle book 'Pretty in Gray'. Thank you for taking the time to visit me today, here at Todolwen. It is always so nice when you do. I hope you are well my dear friends and life is treating you kind. Have a peaceful and creative day.

This weekend I had a Stamping 101 class at my house – although the ladies who attended were by no means beginning stampers, I think they all learned something new! We went back to the basics…
Hello my dear friends, it started about a month or so ago where I just couldn't stop myself from making a new needle book every few days...
Good Day Inky Ones! Not much happening at the camp site. Here I find that a busy day is either taking a shower or doing a couple of loads of laundry. lol Mostly I relax and read or just catch up with some project I have been putting off. I love to read and do so no matter how chaotic my life is. My DH gave me a Kindle a couple of years ago and I must say that e-reader is never very far away. While in Ottawa last summer I began reading a series called “The Emperor’s Edge” written by Lindsay Buroker. I downloaded everything she wrote last summer because I loved her style of writing. Her books are a mixture of different genres. She calls it SteamPunk Fiction, I call it pure entertainment. It has love, action, snappy dialogue between her characters and a little bit of magic and some futuristic aspects. See? I said it was hard to nail it down. But one thing her books have in common are characters that are fully fleshed out and engaging. How else could we read about an Assassian named Sicarius and fall in love with him. The dialogue between Sicarius and the love interest, Amaranthe, is witty and so funny. I downloaded the first book for free and have been willing to pay for anything else she writes. I just finished Number six in the series and am waiting with bated breath for the last book that will be released in August of this year.If you like fantasy fiction with an edge Lindsay Buroker is your girl. Now on to my share for today. (and no Lindsay did not pay me for the review) For my Open House I did a lot of displays of cards and now that the events are over, I want to share them with you. Have a look - This one starts with a basic whisper white base and I used the Doily stamp and white embossing powder on Pool Party card stock. Love that look. Some Pool Party seam binding tied in a bow and the Flower from Simply Sketched Hostess set colored with Pool Party and Marina Mist and a Blender pen. So soft and lovely. This one is done on Pistachio Pudding card stock and the contrasting color is Strawberry slush. I used the Large Doily Die and cut one out in Strawberry Slush. I punched out a 1 3/8" circle in the same color and made a flower. The leaves are from the little leaves sizzlet die. Simple but effective. So that's my share for today, I am heading to Stephenville and a lovely Wedding class. "I Hear Bells' Can't wait! Still crafting hugs!
