Date: 1974 Size: 32" x 32" Medium: Screenprint on paper Signed by the artist Numbered This Pop Art style print features a large horse (the Ford Mustang hood ornament) against a backdrop of an automobile graveyard. In this image, Ms. Holliday was commenting on the American automobile culture of the mid 20th century. Cars were (and still are!) revered by Americans, yet ultimately lost value and were discarded like garbage in junkyards. It's impossible to convey the richness of the print's colors through my amateur photographs. The horse, along with other minor details, is printed in metallic silver ink. The metallic silver ink on the horse glimmers in the light - it's really quite dazzling. The dark reds and matte black take on a velvety appearance against the shiny metallic silver. This is a vintage item, so there may be minor discoloration or other signs of age. All prints have seen stored in a flat file for many years, so they are free of dust and dirt. Each print is unique and handmade, so there will be minor variations between prints. If you are local to Howard County, Maryland, we can meet in person so you can hand-select your print.
