If all you know about LEGO is that they are plastic brick toys…well, you know nothing, Jon Snow. By far, LEGO is one of the most popular brands, and not just because of the pain you experience when you step on a LEGO brick. The company has come a very long way and its origin is pretty interesting, considering that its owner started out producing wooden toys, not plastic. In fact, it was believed that plastic toys would never be able to fully replace wooden toys because kids generally disliked plastic back then. However, LEGO revolutionized this pattern, and now LEGO toys are amongst the top favorite with kids and even adults. On the picture above - LEGO wooden toys. Perhaps, one of the major reasons LEGO is so widespread today is because they cater to kids and adults alike. It is now common to see adults playing with LEGO bricks without any self-consciousness. In fact, it is considered “cool” if you can build LEGO sets creatively and quickly. Plus, some LEGO sets are simply too expensive to be bought for kids and are actually suited for adults, especially since LEGO has a track record of designing sets based on real-life structures and even historical events, for instance, the Apollo 11 Lunar Lander. Also, the LEGO Bugatti Chiron is an excellent and detailed rendition of the actual Bugatti Chiron that costs a whopping £2.5 million. LEGO has long been a favorite. The LEGO origin, the story behind the company and the toy itself will make fans love LEGO even more. On the picture above - Ole Kirk Christiansen at his desk, 1934. - founder of the LEGO LEGO History (The LEGO Group) The LEGO Group started out as a small company owned by Ole Kirk Christiansen who had been making wooden toys since 1932. Initially, he only made wooden toys and not plastic, but later on, by 1947, the company started producing plastic toys. Now these toys were not the LEGO building bricks as we know them today but simply toys made out of plastic. It was in 1949 that the company starting making interlocking bricks, of course, at the time they were in their simplest forms. Nowadays, LEGO creates more and more complex as well as interesting pieces. The name “LEGO” was derived from the Danish term leg godt which means “play well.” Funny enough, although only the first two letters of each word were combined to form “LEGO,” the term has its own meaning as well in Latin which is “I put together.” Ole Kirk had no idea this would be the resulting meaning in another language, making it amazing and ironic what LEGO actually turned to – a company that makes bricks you put together! In accordance with The LEGO Group’s motto, which when translated means “The best is not too good,” Christiansen encouraged his employees to produce top quality at all times. This is why the company has never compromised on quality and keeps looking for new ways to make better, more sustainable brick pieces. With new innovations year after year, by 2015, LEGO was named the “world’s most powerful brand,” taking the place of Ferrari. LEGO Toy History While the production of plastic toys started in 1949, it was only in 1978 that the company produced the first mini-figures. Since then, there have been various types of LEGO toys, including spaceships, supercars, and even treehouses. There seems to be no limit to the types of sets LEGO can create. In essence, LEGO toys are so popular that they are used as teaching tools and even just as display pieces in homes and offices. Want to throw a birthday party for your Infant? If you are, then this guide will show you fun ways to get the most bang for your buck. Birthday parties are a special event for Kids, and as such, it is the best time to create lasting memories with their friends. When it comes to awesome birthday parties, everything boils down to the theme. Here is where LEGO comes in. Kids love LEGO, and a party where everything reflects their favorite toy is their ideal destination for fun and excitement. LEGO Birthday party is doable, and you don’t need any experience to achieve it. With the step-by-step guide provided on this page, you can make your child’s birthday a memorable event. Besides, most of the necessities for achieving a LEGO-themed party are readily available in your home. However, since you’ll be having other kids over, you should consider getting additional LEGO sets for your event. One of the most amazing things about a LEGO-themed party is that the possibilities are endless. With a few LEGO technic sets and a delectable LEGO-inspired cake, you can throw a party that will foster life-long memories. Here’s how. Building the right Invite for your LEGO Birthday party To throw a fantabulous birthday party, you’ll need to invite a few friends over. Kids love to go out and have fun, so you won’t have problems getting them to attend your child’s party. But you want them to be talking about your party long before the scheduled date for the event. To achieve that, you’ll have to design your invitation card to transcend the norms. You don’t need much for this, just fundamental Photoshop skills. If you are not design-inclined, you can browse the internet for free LEGO-inspired invitation cards. With any luck, you might find one that matches your needs. Nevertheless, you’ll need to write your child’s name on the invitation using Photoshop. tasking, but worth the stress. To make the invitation cards/posters even more astonishing, use LEGO fonts on the cards. Print the invites at your local store and send them to your guests. Prepare your House for the party Since your party is a LEGO themed birthday party, you should decorate your home to reflect the theme. While we recommend that you save your budget and effort for the more essential projects, like games and LEGO-focused activities, don’t be afraid to go all out in this area. Getting your home to look like the LEGO factory or the LEGO hotel might be a farfetched idea, but you can create a semblance of your child’s favorite set. You don’t have to be a LEGO interior design expert to achieve this. Just get a few LEGO posters and balloons and hang them in strategic places. Then, arrange your LEGO sets strategically throughout the room. Your LEGO-inspired cake is also an essential part of your decorations, so make sure it is well-positioned. You can also use LEGO characters for your decorations, and if possible, ask the kids to come to the event in their favorite LEGO shirts. The idea is to have everything in your space is screaming; FUN when the kids arrive. Also, make sure your child’s name is on everything. If you have the time, buy colorful disposable cups, bags, napkins, and plates and imprint them with LEGO faces. Food and pastries While you may want to cook all your favorite dishes for your child’s birthday, don’t do it. Kids don’t eat at fun events. There’s barely enough time to play, and they’ll want to make every second count. Just get some snacks and popcorns ready, and let your LEGO cake be the star of the show. For the sake of awesomeness, we recommend baking two cakes; the cute cupcakes, and the fondant cake. Here is where your creativity comes in. You can call your local pastries to bake the cakes for you, but nothing beats mummy’s personal touch. You’ll need a mold to create amazing LEGO cupcakes. Getting the right size might be tricky, but it is doable. When you find your preferred sizes of casts, use it to transform your candy melts to LEGO bricks. Then scatter them strategically on your cupcakes. The Fondant cake requires baking experience, but it isn’t all that difficult to achieve. To achieve this, bake a regular cake as the base (your kid’s favorite flavor), then cover the cake with a thin layer of frosting. Once the frost dries, coat the cake with fondant. Then with your LEGO mold, create a bunch of bricks and line them up around the cake. Note: the molded fondants are easier to handle when they are dry or hardened. The next step is to create a fondant LEGO character for your cake. You can achieve this with Amazon molds. The LEGO character may come out crooked, but kids don’t care about that: They just want to eat their LEGO. Now to the fun part of the party; games! There are so many engaging activities to include in your LEGO Birthday party. However, time will not permit us to list all of them. But here are the coolest ones to have in your party if you want to keep the kids engaged from start to finish. 1. LEGO Mini-figure design table Painting is a fun way to keep kids engaged without stressing them. Aside from the fact that it offers a great deal of fun, it can also bolster intelligence in kids. Besides, what better way to get kids to interact at a social event than to have them color their favorite mini-figures. Another great advantage of the mini-figure coloring activity is that it provides a self-designed portrait that children can take home with them after the party. In this way, anytime they open their mom’s refrigerator, they’ll remember your child’s birthday party. There are many great places to get Coloring pages for “the design your mini-figure” game. So go online and download your favorite ones. 2. The guessing game Kids are always excited to play the guessing game. So for your child’s birthday, create a game that will allow them to guess the number of LEGO bricks in a jar. Gather a few LEGO bricks and put them in a bottle, then ask the kids to imagine the total blocks in the container. To get everyone interested in the game, offer the winner a reward. In this way, the child who guesses the exact number of bricks in the jar will win a prize. The prize can be something small like sweets or candy, it can even be a slice of cake. 3. LEGO hunt Eggs hunt is a classic game for kids’ birthday parties, but it never gets hold. The LEGO hunt game is similar to the Egg hunt, the only difference is that you are hunting for LEGO Bricks, as opposed to hunting for colored eggs. This game is fun because it enthuses children to rely on their instincts to find the bricks. Everyone can participate in the game, even adults. Happy hunting! 4. LEGO Building Challenge There is no LEGO birthday party without a building challenge. If you are not building or assembling a LEGO Technic set, the party has not started. Believe it or not, most of the kids at your party are there for the chance to build their favorite LEGO sets with their friends. So give them various sizes of LEGO to assemble and watch them have all kinds of fun. You can even make it challenging for the kids by asking them to construct the set within a time frame. Let creativity lead the way; give each child a bag of LEGO bricks and see what they make. You can also roll out the big LEGO cars and aircraft and have them race against each other. 5. LEGO gallery This activity is not as reasonably priced like the rest. But it is worth every nickel. No doubt, this activity will have people talking about your party for a long, long time. Besides, the LEGO gallery will remain in your home long after the party is over. To create a whimsical LEGO gallery, you’ll need specially designed LEGO lights for your sets. Specially designed lights will make your LEGO sets come alive in your space, regardless of whether it is day or night. All you have to do is to assemble your LEGO technic Sets and install the lights on them. LEGO lights are easy to install, and they are reasonably priced. So you won’t have problems creating your own LEGO gallery. Conclusion LEGO Birthday parties are relatively cheap to organize, and with the long list of possibilities that they provide, you’ll never run out of fun things to do at your party. Don’t forget to Whack a LEGO Piñata. Have Fun! Special LEGO lights We have the best collections of LEGO lights for your LEGO. Who wouldn't want to beautify their LEGO sets with these creative lights? It's important to be able to understand another person's perspective during an argument. It is also important to be able to view problems from different angles. Due to the versatility of LEGO, it encourages the players to think outside the box. If one way doesn't work then there's another way to try it perhaps one of the blocks is a little shaky. Once you're less distracted and more concentrated you're more likely to complete your tasks. 3. Creativity — Playing LEGO fosters creativity in several ways. Firstly it helps you think outside the box. LEGO does not have a set structure or a correct structure, the decision is completely in your hands. This means that you are free to imagine huge constructions. You are only limited by your mind. Creativity blossoms in situations like this. Secondly, the more you channel your creativity, the easier it'll be for you to access. The more creative you are, the more creativity is accessible to you. LEGO exercises your brain in the best way possible and a great side effect is being more creative. 4. Productive Past time — If you're one of those people who find it very hard to relax and wind down, LEGO can help you wind down and relax in a productive manner. In addition, the productive nature of the game can even encourage your brain to release serotonin, a really wonderful hormone that is closely related to the feeling of happiness. Conclusion A lot of people think LEGO is for children but that is completely untrue. There are skills children learn from LEGO but adults can also gain knowledge. You have to look at the likes and dislikes of the person so that you can purchase a gift that he or she will cherish. One issue that a large percentage of world inhabitants have is the fact that they are bad in giving the right gifts. They have loved ones, which they cherish and adore, and they always want to show them this. It could be their birthday, Christmas, Valentine's day, or some special day in their life, and you may be wondering what to gift them. Instead of giving them something that they will never have to use or they will end up trashing, you need to find out what they genuinely like. Have you ever given someone a gift, and at the end of the day, you felt that the gift wasn't received in the way that you wanted? This occurs when you give a tie to a man that loves to dress casual to work. It is when you give a golf club to a man that won't be caught dead golfing. You need to improve your gift game. This is something that a LEGO keyring can do for you. Many people are LEGO fans and have multiple sets in their homes. If your loved one is a fan, you could get him a classic set or a LEGO key ring, if you do not have the many for a set or you are confused about what set to get for him or her. The keyring will be customized with his or her name, and a figure that reminds you of him or her. There is a great chance that they will be smiling once they receive the gifts. Apart from that, making these personalized LEGO keyrings are usually affordable. They are also as party bag fillers. You may be wondering what food they will eat, where the party will hold, what the fun activities will be and so on, that you forget about the party bag fillers. People get confused about what to hand out in their party bag fillers. Should they have sweets, books, and so on? We all know that many kids are fans of anything LEGO. Let's your son or daughter is a fan of sets and bricks, do you know that you can create a themed party for him or her. The cakes could be of the theme, the foods, decorations, games and so much more. The part bag fillers could also stay true to the theme. You can consider getting the guests customized keyrings. You already know how many of them will be at the party and their names. With the information you have, you can create a key ring for all of them and hand them out, as they leave the party. It would be an intriguing gift and one that is unique. It won't be a bad idea if you add some uniqueness to your party. It is awesome for naming our kids' items It is no news that kids are playful and end up losing their items. When these items are mixed or lost, there is a great chance that you may not be able to pick the one that belongs to your kid easily because they are similar. To prevent your kid from taking the property of another kind, it is advisable to name them. You can do this by using a personalized key ring that has its name there. You could use them in naming your school bags, coats, gym kits and so on. The great thing is that you can choose whatever image or art that you want. While most of us see LEGO as toys, you will find it interesting to know that there are practical and creative ways you can make use of these plastics in your everyday life. Launched back in 1947, LEGO sets have offered limitless construction capabilities to people. This inspires people from around the world to continue to come up with creative projects that they can build with these LEGO sets. In fact, one smart teacher uses these LEGO sets to teach his students mathematics. To help you use LEGO in ways you probably may not have talked about, we have come up with genius and creative ways you can use LEGO sets and they include; 1. Use LEGO To Organize Cables Generally, cables are one of the many things homeowners deliberately forget to keep organized and arranged. Most of the time, these cables can become entangled and messed up to the point that it begins to greatly affect the aesthetics of your home. Surprisingly, you can use LEGO to keep your cables organized The figurines in these LEGO sets all come with a hand and they are perfect for holding your cables together. These figurines can be placed in strategic places to hold your cables. One of the most interesting things about using LEGO is that it does not just keep your cables organized, it also adds to the overall beauty of your home. Depending on how your home is, you can get a LEGO set and use the figurines to hold your cables. 2. Coasters Instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a coaster for your home, you could decide to use LEGO to make your coaster. To do this, you'll need to get your hands on thinner LEGO sets, then according to how you like them, you can build the coasters. To keep this simple, it is advised that you do not use more than two layers as this will make them heavier. To prevent leakage of any sort when you place your glass on the coaster, it is advised that you squeeze the sets together perfectly. Once this is done, you get yourself handmade, beautiful, and fully functional coasters. To make things interesting, you could decide to pick a set that shares the same color as your home painting. This will add to the aesthetic look and feel of your home and believe me, your visitors will not keep shut about your coasters. 3. Battleship Battleship is currently one of the best battle games out there. While this game according to most players is about luck, strategy implored by each player cannot be written off. For those who do not own the game, there are times you'd crave playing them. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars trying to order and wait for it to be delivered, you could simply use your LEGO to build this game. How? With your LEGO set and with the help of the internet, you can conveniently build this game in minutes. Since your LEGO set is available, all you have to do is build this game from scratch and enjoy it. To make things interesting, it is advised that you get a LEGO set (that is if you don't own a LEGO set already) with a variety of colors. This will make the building and playing experience one that you will cherish. 4. Bookends Generally, bookends are handy but you will agree with me when I say they can be boring and mundane. Aside from that, they limit your choice, indirectly forcing you to settle for one that does not suit your style. You will find it interesting to know that there is a way out for you. To get started, you need to get your hands on your favorite LEGO set and design something that you love. With LEGO sets, the possibilities are endless. You can decide to build something that will add to the aesthetic feel of your home. While you may decide to start building right now, it is important that you remember that you will need to see videos and also practice before you can get it right. If you're a LEGO lover already and you've built sets prior to this time, then it will be easier for you to get to work. First-timers may find it difficult to accomplish but will definitely love the final result. There are a number of other bookend designs you can choose from to give your bookshelf this beautiful look. 5. Bird Feeders Most people currently have bird feeders located somewhere close to their home. Watching birds pop by for a snack is a beautiful sight to behold. You get to learn more about birds and also enjoy the beauty of nature. If you have a bird feeder close to your home, then you'd agree that they look almost the same. They are quite boring. LEGO sets could bring it back to life. If you're one of those that love something unique, then you could decide to use LEGO to build a bird feeder that will attract all kinds of birds. This is a sight to behold and it will definitely add to the overall beauty of your home. To build this bird feeder, you may need to watch videos from the internet. This will make the process more convenient for you. 6. Business Card Holder Generally, a number of companies and establishments have their cards placed at strategic positions right in the reception hall. Most of the time, people do not pay attention to these cards because they are either not visible or is not attractive to look at. Instead of spending hundreds of dollars to create artworks with the business logo on it, LEGO sets could do the trick. To make your visitors look at your card, you will need to place them in a position that they can see. Also, something would have to attract or compel them to look in that position. LEGO sets offer you these. You can use LEGO figurines to hold your card. This cardholder will instantly grab the attention of any visitor and in the process ensuring that they read and know about the services your business offers. With these LEGO-themed cardholders, get to add to the overall beauty of your office as well as instantly grab the attention of your prospective clients or customers. It is a double win situation for you with these LEGO sets. 7. Electronic Case More people with phones and other electronic gadgets would love to have them covered with beautiful yet unique cases. This can be difficult to get as most of the cases available are almost the same. To set your computer or gadget apart from the others, you could decide to use LEGO. While this is quite complicated, it is possible and the end result is beautiful. This LEGO build is completely different from some of the others you have seen. Unlike some of the others, LEGO builds that involves bricks, this design is completely different from the others. To get started, you have to watch videos online to get an idea of how to complete this electronic case. 8. Use LEGO To Make Earrings This has to be one of the most creative ideas you'll find here. Like the other electronic case design mentioned above, this set is completely different from some of the others mentioned here. This brick set does not involve bricks, it is left for you to design whatever you love with this set. With this set, you can design earrings and also make nose studs, belly bars, and a wide range of other things. Most people refer to this creative idea as one of the most brilliant ideas anyone can choose from. 9. Teaching Maths With LEGO Generally, we are not all gifted at maths. For some people, they will need additional assistance to help them grasp numbers on a more personal level. There is every possibility that you've never thought that LEGO pieces can be used to help students learn maths effectively. While these LEGO pieces are particularly good for fractions and visual aids, they can also be used for subtraction, addition, and division. The use of LEGO sets to teach mathematics is something that is capable of benefiting both children and adults alike. Experts have revealed that this is one of the best mathematics teaching schools. 10. Fish Swimming Castle There are reports that more people are currently owning and caring for almost every fish type in the world. With this growing demand, it is only right that people get their hands on swimming tanks. One of the many problems with these swimming tanks is that they all look alike. They are boring and do not contribute in any way to the aesthetic feel of your home. To make things interesting, it is best that you make use of LEGO pieces to build one of the most beautiful swimming tanks you've seen. With your LEGO pieces, you can decide to build an amazing Super Mario themed tank that will add to the overall beauty of your home. One of the interesting things is that this is quite easy to build. For a professional builder, it would take less than 60 minutes to finish this set. 11. Gift Wrappers This can come in handy during the holiday season. There are times you may forget to get a gift wrapper and you are left with no option than to present the gift to the recipient like that. With LEGO pieces, you can conveniently build a gift wrapper that is beautiful yet capable of carrying the gift. With LEGO pieces as your gift wrapper, your recipient will definitely appreciate both the gift and the pieces itself. To build this amazing LEGO set, you have to watch videos on the internet. While this may take time, the end result will definitely blow your mind. 12. Star Wars Themed Guitar Owning this perfect piece would be something that a true Star Wars fan would treasure. Also, if you're a lover of guitar and happen to be a Star Wars fan, then this guitar will definitely mean more to you. Unlike most of the other creative LEGO ideas that we have discussed here, this idea needs determination, patience, zeal, and planning. If you're one that quickly gives up, then this may be difficult for you to build. While the guitar is not playable because it was made from LEGO pieces, there are strings and it adds to the beauty of your home or studio. This Star Wars Themed guitar instantly sends a message to anyone that sees it. 13. Decorating Your Christmas Tree With LEGO Pieces Until this moment, we've never fully understood how beautiful and versatile LEGO pieces are. While we know that you can create beautiful pieces with these LEGO sets, we didn't think it would be possible to do most of the things we've discussed here with these LEGO pieces. One of the most interesting things you can do with LEGO pieces is to make and decorate your Christmas tree. The Christmas season is one of those seasons where people would be trying to make the most beautiful decorations. It is also the best time for you to use LEGO pieces to decorate your tree. This is unique and beautiful. While designing your Christmas tree with LEGO pieces, you can ask your kids to help out too. This makes the entire process fun and also gives them this feeling that they are contributing to the good to the home. It is a fine way to teach your kids the importance of hard work. Currently, there are a number of Christmas tree options you can choose from. All of these options are easy to build and also fun. 14. Keyholders The keys are very important. Things could get worse if we misplace them. To prevent that from happening, it is best that you look for a keyholder. In addition to the mobile keyholder, you will also need one that can be used to hold your keys at home. Instead of spending money to get these holders, you can use your already existing LEGO pieces to build something amazing. With your LEGO pieces, you can easily build a key assembly to hold your keys together. You can make use of the figurines to hold these keys. To get started on this, you need to see a couple of videos on the internet or look up some of the pictures. This is a beautiful and organized way to keep your keys together. 15. Fancy Furnishing To give your home this beautiful and amazing feel and look, you will need to spend money on certain things. One of these things is fancy chairs and tables. To build this, you will need to have a large number of LEGO pieces. Also, you need to be patient as this may take time to build. With the appropriate colors, you could build yourself something that would be the envy of anyone who sees it. You could decide to build this in a separate room. To make things more interesting, you may decide to add lights. This will definitely give your home a new look. 16. Lampshade This is one of the most beautiful ideas you can try out. When you are packing to move to a different location, you might also be required to pack and transport LEGO sets as well. While packing your LEGO sets, a lot of care has to be taken, most especially, when you also have children at home. Sometimes, most people view the task of packing LEGO sets for a move to be straightforward. This is because all they just have to do is to look for plastic bags that are sealable where they can just put each piece, arrange the bags in boxes (cardboard), and seal up the whole containers. The truth is that this method of packing might be effective for LEGO sets which are not expensive, including those that have already been disassembled during packing, and the ones that are sentimentally not valuable in any way to your children and yourself. But, when you are about to pack LEGO sets that have sentimental value and expensive Lego sets ones that have been assembled or constructed already, you do not want to follow the packing method that was stated earlier, and never should you even try to follow it. In this article, we will give you a guide on how you can go about packing LEGO sets and how to pack Legos for moving that have been assembled when planning on moving. So, you have to keep reading so as to learn more. Things you should put into consideration about how to transport Lego sets There is one very essential thing that you need to put into consideration before you begin to pack your LEGO sets to make a move. It might be what you have been afraid to ask yourself just because the answer might not sound appealing to your ears. But, the truth is that you must do it before you start packing the sets. Must in move with all my LEGO sets? One thing for sure is that you and your family love LEGO, including everyone on the planet. Therefore, as a true lover of LEGO, you may have a very impressive, jaw-dropping, and classy collection in your home. The question to be considered is not if you will pack all of your LEGO sets and move with them or not, but, whether you should pack all of them or not. The best place for you to weigh, check, and know which LEGO set to move and which not to move, is in your home. Enter inside and crosscheck all your LEGO collection and then, you will know the LEGO sets that are worth your effort of packing. For some reason, a LEGO set might no longer be valuable to you. The main reasons are as follows: • Your children and even you yourself might no longer be interested in some particular sets, • Some pieces of the LEGO sets are missing or some parts might be broken, • The new place you are moving to might not be spacious enough for you to bring in all the LEGO sets you have. So, you need to be quick to make an inventory or a detailed list of all the LEGO sets which you have at hand, and then see if it is possible for you to sort out the best sets from your collection before it is time to start packing. If after your whole optimization and you conclude that some sets will not be moving with you, you may wish to: • GIFT IT, most especially, when you know of a person who is desperately in need of it. For example, it might be the son/daughter of your neighbor. Even if you have assembled the set twice, it will still be appreciated as a wonderful casual gift. • SELL IT, most especially if the LEGO set is still okay. With the profit you made from selling it, you can buy another set that you love. • GIVE IT AS A DONATION, most especially if the set is not expensive or if you cannot find some of its pieces anymore. You may decide to donate it to charity organizations, a child care center, or local kindergartens where they have an interest in LEGO sets, whether it is complete or not. Packing and moving with LEGO sets that have been disassembled Packing built LEGO sets to move is mostly a difficult aspect. We will still talk about how you can go about packing already-built LEGO sets in this article, but let us first discuss briefly how to transport Lego sets that have been disassembled or that are not yet built. • Prepare: The first thing you have to do is to prepare all the supplies that will be needed for packing. Get plastic bags that are sealable, good cardboard containers or packing paper (the soft one). It is most preferable to make use of the real LEGO cartons/boxes, but if they are nowhere to be found, then you can seek for other alternatives, such as paper boxes, plastic containers for storage, etc. • Placement: After making the necessary packing things ready, begin to place the pieces of the LEGO sets that have been disassembled inside the plastic bags that are sealable. If it happens that you have sorted each of the pieces by purpose, color, or type, then make use of different bags for each of them. Ensure that the bags are well sealed to prevent anything from falling off while moving, and always remember to place the instructions booklets as well. • Labeling: Always label every single plastic bag you used for packing and write the necessary things that will help you know which is which. For example, you can write the LEGO model of each of the LEGO sets. • Arrangement: Arrange the whole plastic bags carefully inside the containers that suit each bag. • Cushioning: Use the packing paper to cushion the plastic bags that have been filled with LEGO bricks to avoid them from shaking too much in the containers as too much shaking can cause damages to the bricks. • Sealing: Use high-quality tape to seal every single cardboard box. For plastic containers, still, you still have to use a small piece of tape to make the cover secure even after shutting the lids. Packing and moving with LEGO sets that have been built or assembled Packing LEGO sets that are already built safely is the toughest part. What makes this part of packing risky is because of the fragility of assembled LEGO sets. So, if they are not packed and moved properly, some of the parts might end up breaking. For some people, they may want to follow the packing steps that we mentioned above in order to move all their sets safely to their new home. Some other people may not want to disassemble their sets probably because they do not have that time to rebuild them all over again or for some other reasons. If you fall in this category, here is a step-by-step guide t help you pack and move your assembled sets safely: 1. The first thing you need to do before packing is to use a paintbrush that has soft bristles to dust your constructed LEGO sets, most especially, when they have stayed long on your shelf. 2. Before you pack, take a very good photograph of the built set so that you will find it very easy to rebuild even if it breaks down. 3. Remove the protruding fragile parts from the set, such as masts, robot antennas, etc. the reason is that these parts easily get damaged while transporting them. So remove and put them in plastic bags before transporting it together with the main set. 4. Tightly and carefully wrap the built LEGO set in Saran wrap or stretch wrap. This will make the main build to remain intact and no piece will fall off. 5. After bundling the set in a stretch wrap, cover it with a bubble wrap. This will serve as a shock absorber and it will provide enough cushioning for the build. Do not forget to make the bubble wrap secure with tape (Small pieces). 6. Place the LEGO sets that have been wrapped with plastic wraps inside containers that suit each size. Be sure to tightly arrange them to reduce the way they move while transporting them. Always remember to carry along the building instruction booklets. 7. Use a soft material like a packing paper, shipping peanuts, or bubble wraps to surround all sides of the built LEGO sets so as to properly cushion them and prevent them from hits while moving. 8. The lids of the containers must be well-closed and sealed shut. 9. Always label every single plastic bag you used for packing and write the necessary things that will help you know which is which. For example, you can write the LEGO model of each of the LEGO sets. You should also write “Handle with Care” and “Fragile” on every single cardboard box. 10. Lastly, look for the best alternative to move your boxes filled with LEGO sets. You can hire a company in your city or town that deals with moving. You may be fortunate to see a LEGO lover like you. With these helpful tips, you can now pack your LEGO sets, both assembled and disassembled, safely to your new home. ShareTweetPin itE-mail

You can buy this for lower than twenty dollars. SUPERMAN: BATTLE OF SMALLVILLE (Amazon link) This goes for below sixty dollars, and it has a spaceship, three Kryptonian soldiers, Superman, as well as a military Jeep. You could make it in the form of a square basket so you could just drop your key in it. Try this out! 2. Kitchen Tabletop: This may be a large project but it is what doing as you can use the completed work for a lot of things. There are a lot of LEGO kits that almost ruined the companies they were produced from. For about 10 years, LEGO has survived from almost being bankrupt to having string sales and being very strong in releasing movies. But there are mistakes you shouldn’t make in 2020 to prevent being on the brink of bankruptcy A few of these mistakes included expensive, bad management and new products that were not popular. The leader of the LEGO company stated that he didn’t know the cost it took to create the bricks used to create the sets used for the LEGO products. It was also shocking how the sets which had fiber optic kits and micro-motor. Where both cases cost LEGO more to source than how the entire set was sold for. There is a list of the top 7 LEGO mistakes 1. LEGO Fiber Optic Set When making this particular LEGO set, the fiber optics that were used in creating this were plastics that were clear and they were used to connect it to a battery led light pack which was used to operate the LEGO optic set. When producing this LEGO set, it was unknown that the specialized parts of this LEGO set was more expensive to orifice than the amount the entire set was sold. So the lesson to be learned from this LEGO set is that it is best to produce the sets cheaper than the amount it would be sold. To gain enough profit and to not run into bankruptcy. 2. LEGO Znap (1998-99) The LEGO Znap line was created to be a reaction to the K’Nex which was an American toy company that was into the manufacturing of LEGO brick sets. Like Znap, K’Nex brick set pieces, it was highly elaborated than those of the normal LEGO Brick sets. Those let more creations and designs to be implemented. But with these LEGO Znap was not a strong enough competitor and was not able to catch on with the market. And to increase how bad the situation was, LEGO used the technic highly unprofitable motors in some of the sets. The lesson here is to prevent using sets that are not profitable in creating more LEGO sets to be sold. 3. Primo (1995-99) LEGO created a Duplo line which is created for young ones of age one to five years old. It has been present since the year 1975. The problem with this LEGO set is because after Primo was created, the children were not old enough to play with the normal Duplo bricks. And Duplo brick pieces were more compatible with LEGO pieces, unlike the Duplo line. It was later succeeded by the LEGO Baby and it was out of the market in the year 2005. This was because this market was not giving the company the necessary amount of funds. The lesson here is that as a LEGO brick set company, you should not produce LEGO pieces and assign them to people of a particular age if they are not ready or old enough to try out the brick pieces. Doing this has the possibility of destroying your market. 4. LEGO Scala After some thought, who knows why LEGO revived a hidden line from 1979 which was aimed at being purchased by young ladies. The only thing which kept the scala doll line to being attached to the LEGO brand was how some of the bricks in the playsets from the year 97-98 were the flower shapes that were not compatible with the other brick sets that were not compatible with LEGO. So the lesson here is to get LEGO shapes that would flow with the rest of the products produced by your LEGO set company. 5. Galidor (2002) Considered by Stafford, the Galidor line was popularly known to be LEGO’s worse crime. It was created from a kid’s show which has the same name and it was supposed to be a figure series with action stances but it had awkward arms that were interchangeable for characters. The sets for each of the lines have specialized parts that were too costly to create and they didn't look like a LEGO product in any way at all. A former McKinsey worker Jorgen Vig Knudstorp came and was able to save the company by being the CEO in the year 2004. He came and changed the series and told them they were wasting money. He scattered the numbers of the pieces of the LEGO bricks by 60: and started hiring designers that were talented and had a passion for the brand. These were the best people to employ rather than people with fine degrees and those that were smart. The lesson from this is that for your LEGO company to be successful, it is best you get those who are passionate and fans of the business and those who would be wise enough on how to handle the procedures necessary in running the operations. 6. Legends of Chima LEGO Sets This LEGO set was created by Stafford and it was highly successful because it was built by a great fan of LEGO and he was passionate about it. It also combined real stories that came with the feel of those who use LEGO toy sets. The lesson here just like the precious LEGO toy set is for creators to have passion for the LEGO you sets they produce. And to not make a mistake of hating the profession. 7. 7190 Millennium Falcon kit This falcon Millennium kit has a LEGO kit set that does not have complete pieces in it. And this is a problem for LEGO toy builders who wants to play with the LEGO kit set. This is because, without those two sets, the players of the kit set would be frustrated without the sets being complete. The lesson from this LEGO set is for you to make sure your LEGO brick set is always complete for those using it to feel satisfied. ShareTweetPin itE-mail

This post will show you how to make the basic Palm tree. Thankfully TLG has created many pieces for palm trees but there are still some tweaks that do wonders. First, you need a stable platform for building. Then I start building the trunk of the tree with the palm tree pieces (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2536) It doesn't have to be too tall. When I've reached a height I'm satisfied with I place a 1x1 round plate inside the last trunk piece. This ensures that the 4L bar doesn't slide down the trunk pieces. Yup. ;) Okay, Next I add one 1x1 round brick on top of the 1x1 round while still inside the trunk top piece, and inside of the 1x1 round brick I place a 4L bar (The type used for minifig ax shafts.) Then I get my regular LEGO bush piece, (dark tan works best, although green looks okay too.) As you can see there is a hole in the center. And we just stick it on top of the whole tree trunk. Then, I'll put a Technic half pin in the base of the bush. This will provide a spot to put the Palm tree top piece. (http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2566) Before I place the top piece, I add one dark tan palm leaf piece just below the main prongs of the top piece. Then, I'll attach it to the base of the bush, as shown. I usually add two dark tan leaves to the tree before adding green leaves. (Yours doesn't have to bend quite so far down, just make sure it's well out of the way to leave room for the green ones.) Then, I will begin to add green palm leaf pieces. Be sure to add them so they form right angles, you can fit on more pieces that way. Three pieces fit well. but for the fourth one you will need to attach it at an upward angle. I can fit one more leaf on the very top. It points almost straight up. And you've done it! A very detailed palm tree. :) This tree technique can be done in many different shapes or sizes, I've simply given you the basics with which you can make your own variations. Thanks for taking the time to look this! If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment. In fact, comment if you like the tree. :)
LEGO Minifigures were introduced in 1978 and have since then become the most-beloved toys in the world. These Minifigures, also called "minifigs" are imaginative and educational collectibles, hence the high demand for them. LEGO Minifigs are made from anthropomorphized plastics, made into original characters with clothing and facial designs. Each LEGO Minifigure series contain 16 different minifigs, some contain 9 while others have up to 22. If you are looking to build your own LEGO Minifigs collection, we have created a list of the most popular and rarest LEGO Minifigures you should know about. The Most-Popular LEGO Minifigures 1. Classic Space Astronauts (Amazon link) The classic space astronauts belong to the Space theme - one of the most popular LEGO themes. These LEGO minifigs can be found on every toy shelf; this could be a factor of their imaginative design and play. These Minifigures are a way LEGO showed us that an engaging design can come in the simplest ways. The Classic Astronauts have a simple design and were initially made available in red and white, and later in yellow, blue, and black. They were the first astronauts from the space theme released in 1978. The classic space astronauts had stickers in matching colors on their torso. Few facts; They are available in 5 different spacesuit colors- white, red, black, yellow, and blue. The minifig designs have remained unchanged. These astronauts have air tanks, smiley faces, a rocket circling the moon as a chest emblem, and a one-color spacesuit. 2. Indiana Jones (Amazon link) Indiana Jones is a popular LEGO Minifigure released in 2008. He is a professor and adventurer, and the lead character of the Indiana Jones theme. His custom outfit is a fedora, tan pants, flesh-colored face, a dark brown jacket over his torso, and a shoulder bag. Indiana Jones's most common weapon is a whip. Indiana Jones Minifigure was named after a popular Hollywood movie character. LEGO Indiana Jones has a few different variations including the Regular with an Open-mouthed grin, Desert, Tuxedo, Grey suit. This Minifigure set is a favorite of many. It recorded a large sale and boosted LEGO profit robustly when it was released in 2008. 3. San Diego Comic-Con Superheroes Superheroes are a big genre in entertainment. In 2012, LEGO created minifigs out of San Diego comic superheroes. Initially, LEGO made a limited edition series of only 1,000 pieces of four superhero Minifigures. The characters were DC comics' Bizarro and Shazam, Marvel's Venom and Phoenix. The San Diego Comic-Con Superheroes were displayed on unique cards resembling comic book covers. A small brick was included in the design to help the superhero minifigs stand. 4. Blacktron (Amazon link) Blacktron is a set of rebellious astronauts of the space theme. The astronaut minifigs in shiny black uniforms are the scoundrels and thieves of the LEGO minifigs. They are stylish and intimidating, rather considered a step up from the simple design of Classic Space Astronauts. As the bad guys theme, it featured a large spacecraft- The Renegade. LEGO released Blacktron II or Blacktron Future Generation in 1991. Blacktron II has a slightly different color scheme, which suggests an upgrade era between Blacktron I and Blacktron II. Blacktron minifigs were featured as prisoners on Space Police I. 5. Mr. Gold Exclusive (Series 10) Mr. Gold Exclusive: series 10 was released in 2013. It is an exclusive gold-chrome plated Minifigure, which is one the most popular and most wanted LEGO Minifigs. Although Mr.Gold is popular worldwide, it is rare because only 5,000 pieces were made. 6. Darth Vader (Amazon link) Darth Vadar, also known as Lord Vadar is a very popular minifig and one of the most interesting LEGO minifigs. It has featured in 17 LEGO sets, so it's quite popular. Darth Vader is a Star Wars minifig released in 1999, with 14 variations currently. LEGO designed this minifig to perfectly capture the attribute of the famous Star Wars character, Darth Vader. Darth Vader minifig has a cute button and a removable helmet you can take off to see his adorable face. He made a cameo in Indiana Jones and has featured in all LEGO Star Wars Video games as the last lockable character (the hardest Star Wars character to unlock). Darth Vadar is loved by both LEGO collectors and gamers. 7. Luke Skywalker (Amazon link) Luke Skywalker minifig was introduced in 1999 in the Classic Star Wars line. He is one of the major characters and the main protagonist. Luke Skywalker beats Darth Vader in the number of features as he has featured in 28 sets. He is the first Lego Minifigure to be licensed. LEGO has made up to 29 versions of Luke Skywalker since 1999. The popularity of Luke in Star Wars made it a popular gift among Star Wars fans. Luke Skywalker made a cameo in Indiana Jones (The Original Adventure) as one of the five hidden characters to be found in order to unlock Han Solo. He also featured in The Video Game and LEGO Star Wars II as The Original Trilogy Tatooine, with a variant appearance. 8. Black Falcon (Amazon link) Black Falcon belongs to LEGO's Castle theme, which featured two great factions; the Castle Soldier and the Black Falcons. The Black Falcon is the faction with the coolest designs; in black, blue, and silver. Black Falcons were introduced alongside the Crusaders in 1984 when LEGO did a relaunch for their Castle theme. One of the first sets of Black Falcons released included a 6073 Knight's Castle, which was smaller than that of the crusaders- the 6080 King's castle. The Black Falcon soldiers had helmets, arms and legs, a crested blue torso, and a black/white falcon. The knights wore a breastplate torso in either blue or black and a fixed face grill helmet. The Black Falcon owned two castles and a small wall segment. Rare LEGO Minifigures Here is the list of rare LEGO Minifigures: 1. 14K gold Boba Fett These Minifigures are the rarest of them all. Only two pieces were made and enclosed within an exclusive Boba Fett set. The two pieces were given away at the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con. Each of the 2 sets contains a sterling silver minifig and gold plated one. The fact that only two pieces of this Minifigure were produced made them the rarest LEGO Minifigure to date. 2. Mr. Gold Exclusive (Series 10) In 2013, LEGO released Mr. Gold; Series 10, an exclusive gold plated Minifigure. Only 5000 pieces of Mr. Gold Exclusive was made worldwide, making it one of the rarest LEGO minifigs known. He is almost completely golden, except his white hands. He is shinning and golden from the top of his golden hat, golden face, golden torso, golden tuxedo, to his golden legs. Mr. Gold was made to celebrate LEGO 10th Minifigure theme. It is the second minifig to have a name. He is also the first and probably the only minifig to wear a golden hat. He holds a staff that has a diamond at its top. Everybody wants Mr. Gold, but only a few can have him 3. Black Suit Superman Black Suit Superman Minifigure is an exclusive set released in July 2013. Only 200 of these Minifigures were given to the raffle winners at the San Diego Comic-Con. Aside from the 200 pieces won in 2013, no one knows how to get hold of these black-suited superheroes. Unless any of the winners are willing to sell. The Black Suit Superman Minifigures of LEGO had black and silver colors that made them stand out from the regular blue, red, and yellow versions. The fact that only 200 pieces of the Black Suit Superman were made, and for the winners at the Comic-Con made it a rare one to find. 4. Iron Man (2012 New York Toy Fair exclusive) The New York Toy Fair Iron Man was exclusively made as a promotional Superheroes set to be given away at the fair. Only 125 pieces of this set were made in 2012. The set was designed with a special comic book version that is exclusive to the set. The Iron Man Minifigure has a more serious facial expression and wore printed helmets ( different from the ones on other Iron Man Minifigure). The overall printing on this exclusive set differentiates it from other Iron Man sets. 5. Captain America (2012 New York Toy Fair exclusive) This set of Captain America was made in the same year as the exclusive Iron Man. Only 125 pieces of Captain America minifigs were also made and handed out at the 2012 New York Toy Fair exclusive. These minifigs have white eyes similar to the exclusive Iron Man minifigs, which is one of the ways in which they are different from other Captain America sets. The exclusive Captain America is a collector's item and a very rare one at that. Conclusion Indeed, LEGO Minifigures are imaginative creatures. LEGO has given us the best toys and games from bricks and blocks to famous Hollywood, superheroes and comic character figures. It's no surprise both children and adults love to play LEGO. Last week, we posted on how to make a LEGO Toothless, and we’re back with a LEGO® Hookfang (Monstrous Nightmare), inspired by How to Train Your Dragon! Building dragons out of LEGO® bricks has proven to be pretty challenging. We were thinking that Toothless was probably going to be our only dragon character. But then […]
Post especialmente para Débora! :) Esperamos que te ajude a fazer mais linda ainda a festinha! :) Bom, a melhor parte de uma festa em que o tema é “Lego” é que os bloquinhos coloridos d…
What is LEGO? LEGO is specifically, a type of colorful plastic brick that comes in the form of a toy and it’s used for building. It’s a very popular building toy in the world used for making houses, towers and the likes of it. LEGO bricks are identified by a stud and a hole. The stud is located at the top and the holes, at the bottom, this is the only means through which it’s been joined to make buildings. There’s no specific age of people who use LEGO. They are built to be used by children and adults. Oftentimes, children and adults come together to compete among themselves, who will make the tallest LEGO structure. Block by block, one plastic section at a time, etc. Impact of LEGO on Children Most parents who aim for the best in their children, tend to look for activities that will help to boost their brains. They know that the child's brain is innocent and constantly thinks of how to play, amongst other sorts of mischief. So what better way do they occupy their brain for them? If not to introduce playing toys that will impact positively in the child's life. A good number of parents have devised a way of introducing LEGO into the lives of their wards and this is good news. They have observed the excitement that tends to brew up with LEGO in recent times. So most of them sort to introduce it to their children. The teachers/tutors are not left out because everyone has come to the terms that LEGO isn’t just any kind of regular toy, but these interlocking bricks are indeed created to build the activities of the brain. Below: are some of the benefits of LEGO to a growing child. ● Building social skills: with LEGO, children tend to build up and improve on their social life. This happens a lot when they playing in groups. When children come together to join LEGO bricks, there’s always room for collaboration and interaction amongst themselves. Parents are, therefore, advised to encourage their children's social skills by investing in LEGO and also trying to get them a trusted playmate. ● Improves maths skills: Statistics have proven that a lot of young people hate maths and would do anything to keep their distance from it. Studies have shown that construction play in childhood, helps to improve a child’s performance in math. To further prove this, a 2014 study confirmed that certain students in sixth-grade, couldn’t do well in maths until construction play was introduced to them and they spent their free hours on it. Their grades improved tremendously. ● LEGO bricks work as tools for maths: LEGO bricks are said to be perfect when teaching students basic concepts in mathematics. This was discovered by parents who home school their children and some teachers too. According to them, concepts like; subtraction, addition, measurements, etc. LEGO bricks are really friendly tools to teach children with. ● Builds engineering skills: when a child is playing, they try to create their own world and change certain things to fit their heart desires. This is exactly what an engineer does. It comes with the 1960 hippy themes that remind us of how a camper van usually is. Apart from the aforementioned, the LEGO 10220 Volkswagen T1 Camper Van also has a Lava lamp and Green plants. Yes, you read that right. LEGO and Structural Engineering Playing and making experiments with LEGO, doesn’t end with childhood, it goes beyond that. The blocks and everything going on during LEGO playtime, are undermined opportunity of learning what structural engineering is all about. Structural engineering is a branch of engineering, where engineering experts happen to ask themselves questions concerning – buildings, crafts, stadiums, and several other bigger and larger and larger formations. Building a large structure with LEGO and constructing a similar structure in real life, deals with two common things which are; Understanding of physics and being highly creative. To be able to build a perfect structure with LEGO, you have to know the limits of the material you will work with, there are only little issues when building with LEGO. Most kids who grow up to become structural Engineers were influenced by building LEGO during their childhood. LEGO has different ways of helping to shapen children into future structural Engineers and they include; ● Scaling is sn essential part of LEGO. You want to create a space that’s big enough to contain the number of toys you so desire. That’s exactly the same with building real-life structures, structural engineers are known for building structures that they contain the capacity of people they wish. Scaling entails that you draw up plans and styles that your structure will take. ● Bracing refers to the knowledge of using bricks to strengthen a structure. LEGO doesn’t only teach you this, it also lets you understand the basics and allows you to apply them when dealing with more difficult real-life structures. If you build a crafty tiny community with LEGO and you find out that one of the structures in the community isn’t very strong but there’s hope for repair, would you totally abandon it? Bracing helps you to put extra support and LEGO helps to master the art of bracing. ● Helping you master the art of design Some visual experiments have used LEGO building projects to imitate and implement designs used by structural Engineers. Children who play a lot with LEGO, do so with keen interest and open their minds to learn the art of designs. Structural Engineers are also good designers because, without a beautiful structural design, a house cannot pique the interest of people. ● Creativity LEGO allows the children to explore the creative part of them. They try new things every day they use the toy and bricks. Children should be encouraged in this aspect because it’s applicable to structural Engineers too. Conclusion Children are the future leaders of tomorrow. A future can turn out good or bad, you as a parent can harness hidden talents out of these children. Introduce them to educational materials that will help to increase the sharpness of their brain and the activities that go on in there. Building bricks like LEGO can go along way to make this an achievable goal. ShareTweetPin itE-mail
Currently, it is said that billions of LEGO pieces exist in the world, and more will be produced. Have your legs ever been unfortunate to climb those bricks? There is a great chance that you would have winced in terror, and this has not stopped us from loving LEGO sets. LEGO came into existence in the 1930s, and since then, we haven't gotten enough of this company. A lot of us grew up surrounded by the pieces. We played with them as kids, and now we have fallen in love with the sets as adults. If you step into my abode, you would think you have taken a walk into a world made of LEGOS. I am one of the millions of users that are in love with them. This company dominates the toy world, and it seems like they won't go anywhere. Their creativity is out of the world and this can be seen in what they build. Have you taken a look at the technic sets, there is a great chance that you would have noticed how incredible they are. LEGO is one company that is known to spend time, paying attention to detail in whatever sets, Minifigure or parts that they create. This has made it great for both kids and adults. Now, many of these sets are compatible with one another, meaning that you can create bigger structures with different sets. What about the fact that many of these sets come with apps that are compatible with both iOS and Android versions of devices? You could have more playtime and building experience with the sets and their compatible apps. If you want fun, LEGO is a brand that you should consider patronizing. If you are a fan of the universe, there is a great chance that you know the Lego City range. It began in 1973. Since then, it has been used by a lot of people that fancy city planning. If you want to improve the urge for city planning in your kids, you should consider getting them the Lego city range. When some people see this range for the first time, they tend to feel that it is easy to build and has a trivial design. This is far from the truth. In this range, you will come across how normal streets look, with the bustling aspects of the street. You will come across mean streets that have crazy Minifigures. You will also come across smoke seen on such a street. If you want, you can have the harbor police, build things, ensure that the law is enforced and even protect the skies. You could maneuver the mini builder through their city. Do you know that you could give the builders the time to rest and eat? The Lego city range is similar to how a city is. We have some LEGO City Minisets that you should consider having: LEGO City Police Mobile Command Center (Amazon link) If you want to imbibe law and order into the consciousness of your kids and tutor them on why it is important to not be on the wrong side of the law, you should consider getting them this set. Getting this set will give them the needed playtime and fun that you want your kids to have, as this set comes with a lot of features. When they have the set, they won't even know where to start because they are a lot of exciting things that they can try out. You could have the mini-city streets creates right in your house, while their imagination is nurtured. If you want to improve the image of your kid, you should consider getting them this set. You would see them hone their forensic imagination. They can show justice to those that are on the wrong side of the law, like the criminal cartel.
