Good morning. One of life's greatest lessons is to use both the positive and negative in our lives to shape us into a better person. I by no means have this down but by creating these cards it reminded me to learn from those negative times and rejoice with God in the positive times. Now that I am done with my philosophy for today, let's get on with the cards. Both cards started with the same supplies. Water color paper, kraft cardstock, water color paints, Leaf Silhouette die (PTI), Razzleberry ink (SU) and Simple Sentiments stamps (PTI). I started by wetting down a Strathmore panel and just letting the colors swirl together. I let it dry then die cut the leaves from it. I placed post-it tape over the die cut to keep the bits and pieces together. Then pulled the positive of leaf off. To make the second card I put some liquid glue on the back off the negative leaf parts and using the tape on the front positioned the leaves. The greeting is stamped and mounted with a little foam tape on the back. These cards were created for several challenges. Thanks for stopping by, Sue.

I love these skeleton leaves from Sizzix. This time I backed them with some gold mirror card onto which I had dropped various autumnal shades of alcohol ink! These literally were scraps of card.. not large enough to cover the three leaves altogether, but I looked for an interesting bit of colour which would just about cover each leaf individually!. I had just enough left for the sentiment. Addicted to CAS - LEAF Alphabet Challenge L is for LEAVES Cut it UP Challenge Blog Fall is in the air Simply Create too Fall Leaves Inkspirational

Hello and thanks for joining me. I love heat embossing! Here I am in my second week as Guest Designer for JUGs, this time the theme being Recycle. For my card I took the packaging from a shipment which arrived today from Amazon. The card itself is apparently already recycled material, so this is Recycle x 2! The skeleton leaves are from Sizzix dies and the sentiment from Simon Says Stamp. Once this was made, I was umming and ahhing about whether or not it needed a little something, so I added a few cascading dots. Which is best? With or without dots? Why not join in the recycling fun over at Just US Girls... you know you have something just itching to be recycled into a card!

Hi everyone, Today's cards use a few of the new stand-alone dies from the new release. First, I'm sharing a CAS (clean and simple) masculine birthday card made with Layered Leaves die 51-633. I die-cut the leaves from white card stock. I used a watercoloured piece from my stash ... this has a bit of sparkle, so I'm pretty sure it is a mix of Lindy's magicals on watercolour paper. I placed the die-cut leaves over the watercolour piece and traced with a pencil, then fussy-cut. Adhered the white over top of the watercoloured background and then adhered to my card front. I stamped a happy birthday sentiment (smile today! 30-461) in weathered wood distress ink. It matched pretty well! :) Close-up ... My second card uses the beautiful die, Creative Curves 51-611. This makes a lovely backdrop for any image. The bright white card front and black die-cut panel create a lot of contrast in this design. A pretty stamped butterfly (Wings and Vases 30-704), coloured with zigs and fussy-cut is all that's needed to complete this design, along with a simple black stamped sentiment, Good Wishes 30-541. My third card uses the new Bench (51-621) die. Created a very loose watercolour wash for the background from green and blue inks. Stamped a leafy branch from the Country Charisma stamp set 30-690, watercolouring in two shades of green ink. Popped up the die-cut bench, which was sponged in two shades of brown ink. Finished with a blue ink stamped sentiment, Good Wishes (30-541). Thanks so much for dropping by!
