Henri Eugène Augustin Le Sidaner (1862-1939) French intimist painter. Website by great grandson of the painter: www.lesidaner.com/html/yfls.htm Intimism: French late 19th- and early 20th-century style of painting and drawing that explored quiet domestic scenes. Many Intimists used the Impressionist broken-colour technique of capturing the light and atmosphere of the fleeting moment. But unlike the Impressionists, who derived their colours from precise observation of the visual world, these painters exaggerated and distorted natural colour to express mood. ___ One of my favorite Le Sidaner paintings. Unfortunately I have been unable to find more information about this work by contacting the painter's great-grandson.
