The Clothespin by Zygo is constructed by two segments joined together, in a manner that is inspired and reminiscent of the generic shape of a utility clothespin. Zygo uses techniques of abstraction and defamiliarization in order to imbue a dynamic contortion into this sturdy structure, by bending half over the other, while raising one leg of the other, as an expression of happiness, similar to the iconic pose in Alfred Eisenstaedt’s famous photography.
Last spring at craft day, Beth asked Mary and I if we wanted to join a round robin book project with her and Lisa. She kind of knew that Mary would say no, she is all glue book, all the...
I want to show you five lovely projects tonight by four lovely ladies. The first one is by Netty and features CI-077, and CI-278 - thanks for sending it over Netty - loving those bright colours, and the men of course! The second two are by Zuzu and in fabulous rich colours - very tactile too! The box incorporates one of my all time favourite stamps CI-056 - what a drama queen!, and the dominoes a very popular stamp CI-197. The next project is a very imaginative, soft and subtle use of one of our new tags by Helen. Helen has used the houses from CI-274 very effectively, and the image shows a 'before and after' shot. Thanks Helen! Finally here is a lovely large card by a special friend of ours - Margaret, who has used an image from People and Places 2 (all books are on special offer right now!), plus another one of the new tags. So pretty! That's all for tonight folks. Our new challenges start on 1st April, so keep checking back for details. Thanks for all your continuing kind comments, and have a great evening. Jean x

Hi creative friends, With the excitement and busyness of Christmas and New Year, I ran out of time in 2021 to share with you two projects I created using the Granny Buttons December Handmade Club kit. Following the kits theme of organising our creative spaces, I made a pretty lace book to store my most expensive and precious laces. Granny's Buttons Lace Book I used the papers and elements from the Granny's Buttons kit to create the lace book cover and lace boards. The book measures13.5 cm wide x 14 cm high x 7 cm deep.

Loaded and ready to go to Canton that is! My small crew and myself have been working for weeks trying to get things ready to take to Laurie Anna's http://laurieannas.blogspot.com/ this month for the Canton show. Laurie told me to bring lot's and lots for the Fall shows, so that's what I'm doing my truck is full, from floor to ceiling. Laurie and Willie have redone the entire store and it's full of new treasures. I will be leaving in a little bit to take my things to the shop and I can't wait to see all of the goodies that she has! This is just a peek into my truck, ok.... I'm not the best at packing things! Here are just a few of the things that I will be taking to Laurie's. Our new hobo bags! It's been so hot here in Texas, but I've been hearing of a cool down, maybe down to 95 this weekend, I never thought I would be so glad to see it 95 degrees but at this point it sounds pretty good. Hope to see ya at Canton!!!
I made a fabric covered notebook as a gift for a friend of mine. The notebook is A5 in size. I covered the notebook using cream felt and then I used a white lace fabric to cover the felt. I cut the flowers out of wedding appliques and arranged them on the lace fabric and then I glued them down onto the background using Fabri Tac glue. As there are sequins on the appliques it gives a sparkling effect and looks very pretty I bought the image of the lady from Etsy and printed it out onto Inkjet canvas then I cut the inside section out of a cream coloured doily and used that to frame the image. I then glued two layers of white gathered lace around the edge of the doily and then adhered the whole section down onto the background. On the spine of the book I added some pretty white guipure lace and a cream coloured trim. Underneath the image I made a bow using a pale cream organza ribbon and a white flower applique and I added a pretty rhinestone embellishment, then I added a cream tassel. Using guipure lace I trimmed around the three edges of the notebook on the front and back and then I used pearl trim to give the cover a finished look
