The images have a strong bond with old masters paintings or subjects and compositions from the history of art. Most of the time the situations are quite representative of a specific social status/ city issue. I was able to have a few glance in the Fountayne Road community from which I developed three paintings. This photo has been taken in the context of an Easter feast, the religious elements and patterns that we see, create a relationship with the figures of the three Marys, functioning as a window path from past to present. The commune becomes an iconic place, were idolatry from the past as priest, bread and wine find a new connection with present icons such as Lindt’s rabbits, barbies and eggs.
