Folklore e Fiabe 2018 9° giorno: Kraken La parola Krake è un'antica parola per indicare il polipo a otto zampe e, anche se oggi è una creatura popolare nei film e nei media, nel 1700 era un mostro affermato. Ci sono molte storie sul Kraken, ma lascerò che sia il meraviglioso Lord Tennyson a parlare per me: “Sotto i tuoni dell’abisso superiore, Lontano, molto al di sotto, nel mare abissale, Il suo sonno antico, senza sogni, non invaso Il Kraken dorme: la più debole luce del sole fugge Dei suoi lati oscuri; sopra di lui si gonfiano Enormi spugne di crescita e altezza millenarie; E lontano, nella luce malata, Da molte grotte meravigliose e celle segrete Polipi enormi e non numerati Vaglia con braccia gigantesche il verde addormentato. Lì giace da secoli e giacerà Divorando enormi vermi marini nel sonno, Finché quest'ultimo fuoco riscalderà l'abisso; Poi una volta per essere visto dall'uomo e dagli angeli, Ruggendo si alzerà e in superficie morirà”.
