Doreen 2 Needle Socks Booklet Socks For All The Family This is a special pattern as it was one sent to me by a follower of this blog for me to share with you all today! Lesa has been kind enough to share a vintage pattern which was recently gifted to her by her mom Lesa's mom bought this pattern back in the 50s to knit her husband a pair of socks, unfortunately for him it was not meant to be, as Lesa's sister came along and the yarn was repurposed in to a sweater for the new arrival, though I am sure he didn't mind! But if you fancy giving this pattern a try then the link is below! Free 1950's Two Needle Sock Knitting Patterns Here

Hirveä neulomisvimma iski. Parasta ensiapua tarjosi pieni sukkaprojekti. Koska käytän tosi paljon maihareita, halusin sukkiin pitsireunan, joka pilkistää maihareiden varren yli. Hyvä vinkki löytyi Pinterestistä Villasukat matkalaukussa -blogista. Novitan pitsivillasukkien ohjeesta neulotaan yläreuna ja jatketaan tavallisena villasukkana. Pitsiosiota neulottaessa silmukat jaetaan kolmelle puikolle (16 silmukkaa/puikko) ja tavallisen sukan osuuteen siirryttäessä silmukat jaetaan neljälle puikolle (12 silmukkaa/puikko). Harkinnassa on vielä koristelenko varret pienillä ruseteilla vai esim. napeilla. Vai koristelenko ollenkaan. Yritän pitää yllä lankojenostoboikottia ja käyttää pois kertyneitä varastoja. Näihin sukkiin langaksi löytyi kerä Novitan Nallea. 7veljestä on Novitan ohjeissaan käyttämä lanka. I got hit by a compelling knitting mania. The best "first aid" was offered by a small sock project. Because I use combat boots every day, I wanted to knit the socks with lace edge that peeps nicely from the boots. I found the perfect tip from the blog "Villasukat matkalaukussa" in Pinterest. First you knit the lace edge from the Knitted lace socks by Novita pattern and then continue knitting as a basic knitted sock. (I'm sorry, the links for these patterns are in Finnish) When you are knitting the lace, divide the stitches for three needles (16sts/each). When the lace is done and you start doing the basic sock, divide the stitches for four needles (12sts/each). I'm thinking whether to decorate the sock with small bows or buttons or not to decorate at all. I'm trying not to buy new yarn (because I have lots of different kinds of yarn in my house). I found some Novita's "Nalle" yarn for this project from my yarn stocks. The yarn used in those patterns above is Novita's "7veljestä". Ehkä ilman rusettia?? Maybe without the bow?
The day I completed my first sock was a day of liberation. For years I'd been mystified by socks, never daring try them on my own. I learned that although knitted socks look complex and daunting, they're actually one of the most logical items to knit. What follows is a simple format for knitting an

I think boot toppers/cuffs are pretty darn cute. They close the gap between the top of your boot and your pants that are tucked in (or leggings), and add an element of design. I had never made any and decided to see if my daughter wanted a pair. She did, so I whipped these out. I have no adversity whatsoever to double point needles, but I know some folks do. I wanted to write the easiest pattern I could just to tempt people to try it, so these are made on 2 regular needles. For downloading or printing of this pattern, simply scroll down past the photos, the pattern is there. *Special thanks to my Ravelry tester Karinamaza for letting me use her picture of the gray/blue toppers. ☺ Here are my 2-needle boot toppers..... I'm a huge fan of knitting in the round -socks, sleeves and pretty much anything I can do on circular needles I will. I tend to mainly use magic loop but for travel knitting where elbow space is limited or where I need to be able to drop my knitting at a moment's notice (and not miss my stop) I tend
