I shared this technique at a recent Virtual Team Meeting. I embossed the large Magnolia Lane bloom with black embossing powder. I used White Craft Ink refill and just a drop or two of water. You don't want it too wet. The important thing to remember is to let the ink dry between layers of color. And craft ink takes a long time to dry so patience is needed! When the second layer of White Craft Ink is almost dry, I blotted at the ink to smooth the color out), When it was completely dry I took a dauber and my Petal Pink ink pad and added color to the center of the blossom, pulling it out towards the petals. I used Mossy Meadow Stampin' Blends to color the leaves and added the greeting. The card base is Mossy Meadow and flower piece is matted on Basic Black. Not a difficult technique but definitely not a quick one. You can try using your heat tool to speed up the drying but I didn't like how the ink melted into the embossed part and muted the black. Hello & welcome again, Again I am using some retiring products on this card. The stamp set is Good Morning Magnolia (#149298). The 3 flowers were stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink (#132708) on Basic White card (#159228), then cut with a Magnolia Memory Die (#149578). The flowers were coloured with Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends (#154893) and Soft Sea Foam Stampin’ Blends (#154902). The stitching on the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper (#152483) was created with the Stitched With Whimsy Dies (#155314). This was then matted with Basic Black card (#121688) and attached to the Basic White base card. A die from the Painted Labels (#151605) cut the “circle”. Two magnolias were attached to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430). I attached the Gold Trim (already retired) with Mini Glue Dots (#103683), then added the sentiment with Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals (#144108). The sentiment is from the Borders Abound stamp set (#152627) and stamped with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. A Stitched Rectangles Die (#151820) was used to cut the sentiment. The Gold Glitter Enamel Dots (#152155) were added to the card. The retiring products are- Good Morning Magnolia stamp set Magnolia Memories Dies Peony Garden Designer Series Paper Borders Abound stamp set. It's Friday and new challenge time at Just Add Ink, and this week could possibly be the easiest challenge ever... Card? But no, that's really tooooo easy. I came up with a ton of C's but decide to make one of my all time fave folds - the centre step card - using a mix of the beautiful Good Morning Magnolia stamp & die bundle teamed with the Free as a Bird stamp & die bundle. You may spot some other C's too. This is a combination of my Original Centre Step Card Tutorial with an extended panel like my extended Centre Step card. I think the gorgeous magnolia image from Good Morning Magnolia is the star here. I stamped it on shimmery white cardstock and coloured it with Stampin' Blends markers in a combination of Calypso Coral, light Petal Pink, Crumb Cake and Mint Macaron, plus light pool party around the image. See more challenge C's there. I also snuck some clear Wink of Stella onto the flower for even more shimmer. I teamed the magnolia with some very pretty paper prints from the Bird Ballad paper pack. Suuuuuch a pretty pack. This coordinates with the Free as a Bird stamp & die bundle I've used for the sentiment, stitched label and vellum panel. I used the stamps and labels on the extended panel at the bottom too. The patterned paper strip is popped up on some fun foam to keep the front standing - see how it stands in this pic. The card folds flat for mailing - depending on how enthusiastic you've been with your layers. Here's how the base looks flat too - front & back. So that's a wrap on my 'C' challenge card. Last card from the July Stamp-A-Stack! This was CASE'd (Copy And Share Everything!) from Verna M. and is so elegant looking! These would be pretty in any color. I think the gold and silver are perfect for weddings or anniversaries! They look great with or without a greeting! To get the foil sheet into the embossing folder at the angle I wanted, I had to cut the corners off a little: Here's what it looks like after it is embossed. Hello, Well I'm back from my holidays just in time for this months InspireINK blog hop with a wedding theme. Even though I missed my crafting while I was away my mojo has deserted me in the heat so it was good to have a reason to knuckle under and make this card. I chose a Crumb Cake and Petal Pink colourway to go with the matching colours in the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper. I used the Detailed Bands dies and a sentiment from the Dandelion Wishes Stamp Set, it is so suited to a wedding card and such a pretty font. I added a flourish with a bow from the gorgeous new Organdy Striped Ribbon and added a die cut heart and a Bird Ballad trinket. A couple of matching sequins finished off my pretty card. I've used some Magnolia Lane DSP as the background and cut out a flower from another page of DSP to add to the Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon. I cut an extra centre of the flower to add on top to give it a more realistic, 3D effect. The sentiment is from the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set and uses the Pretty Label punch. The sentiment and background paper are softened using Petal Pink and Mossy Meadow ink. I've added some soft pearl rhinestones and a few extra leaves to the sentiment from the DSP. Are you swooning all over the new catalogue? Which is your favourite set/bundle? For me one of my top favourites is Good Morning Magnolia. - I have fallen hard for this stunning Magnolia. It's huge! And just beautiful. I might need an intervention to put it down for a while and play with my other new goodies! I was inspired by pinterest for this card - I am seeing so many stunning samples of this magnolia. It's great to see so many different colour combinations, embossing techniques and 3D projects. I have had fun using different colours of my blends pens, especially on the leaves to see what I like the best - sometimes bold, sometimes soft and pretty. Needless to say I now have a sizeable stash of them on my desk. I might have to wallpaper my craft room with them - ha! This card fold isn't new - it's called a Z fold card. It still uses a normal sized card base just cut length ways from your A4 cardstock. you then fold the card base in half like usual then fold the front panel back on itself to create the extra flap. Decorate as you wish and tada - a stunning card is born! Welcome to Makeover Monday!! Today's Makeover Monday card has just a few differences than yesterday's Simple Sunday card. To start with, I stamped and die cut the image on a piece of Basic White that measures 2-3/4 X 3-1/2. After coloring the image, I adhered it with Dimensionals, on a piece of Basic White that was embossed with the Subtle EF. I added extra sentiment die cuts in Seaside Spray. Do you remember when you were in elementary school and you’d get all those new supplies at the beginning of the year? I always loved opening the packages and labeling things. Putting the pencils in a new case, covering books etc. Well I never grew out of that. An order was due yesterday and starting at about 4:00, I was watching the driveway for the UPS truck. You know how they say a watched pot never boils? Yeah, well a watched driveway doesn’t produce the UPS truck either! He finally came at 6:30 and I ran into my studio and ripped open that box like a crazy woman. I opened all the packages, fondled my new toys and just loved them up. Then I simply had to organize, label and put everything away. I swear it’s a compulsion. Every time I get new toys, I MUST go through this process ASAP. You know the weirdest thing about it? I LOVE IT! Seriously, I had the most fun making new folders to add to my box of embossing folders and Framelits. Putting the stamp sets together and alphabetizing them on my stamp rack. Of course I delighted in labeling new folders for the dsp, punching out dots of cardstock in the appropriate color for the tops of reinker bottles and using the label maker to label the sides of my embellishment containers. I adore my label maker. I guess my Mom would not be a bit surprised at my compulsion to organize things. She was the book keeper for Daddy's business and used to give me old forms and blank deposit slips to play with when I was little. I had an office set up in my room. I had a desk full of supplies just like she did. Even in my teens I was bit ocd. Mom said I was the only teenager who actually kept a clean room. Her friends were always jealous cause she never had to fuss to get me to clean my room, and my closet was an organized work of art. Yeah, I know, I'm kind of a dork. Okay, my big brother would say a BIG DORK! But ya know what? I'm happy like this. This purse is the cutest card holder! I got the directions from Chiaki Haverstick. I used a Labels Framelit for the top section of the purse, because I didn't have the die that Chiaki used. I simply adore this card set holder and I plan to make several more. These are the two newest Designer Series Paper. I made these display boards to show all the products that coordinate with these pretty papers. Of course, I don't have all those ribbons and buttons.... yet! lol
