Jewelweed (Impatiens capensis), also called Spotted touch-me-not, is a very effective antidote for the topical exposure to Poison Ivy. Jewelweed is said to often grow near poison ivy, but these two plants prefer different habitats. So while this might sometimes be true, it is not usual. When the ripe green seed pods of Jewelweed are touch, they explode, sending it's seeds in all directions from the mother plant.
