Jan.14/11 Here is a different tri-fold card. I saw this card here and thought it was a really neat fold. I hadn't seen one like it before. I had a problem getting the other one to fold flat, maybe I did something wrong, but since I wanted mine to be smaller, I went ahead and re-worked it to make a smaller version. Here are the instructions for the smaller tri-fold card. You can click on any of the pictures to get a better view of the measurements. Here is the template - the solid lines are cut lines and the broken ones are score lines. First Step - cut your card stock to 7" x 9" On your trimmer line up the 9" side of card stock at 1" and cut from 1.5" down to 7.5". Turn paper to opposite side and do the same. (On the picture I show it lined up at the 1.25" line, which is not correct, it should be at 1" - sorry about that) 1) Place paper in your Scor Pal - as shown in picture. 2) At the 1.5" mark score a line between the cut lines. 3) Move left edge of paper to the 1.5" mark and score between the cut lines at the 4.5" mark. 4) Now move paper back to the left side and at 4.5 score only down to the cut line. Do the same again below the lower cut line. 5) Now score at the 7" mark only to the cut line. Now score at 7" mark below the lower cut line. (these 7" score lines are not shown in the above picture, but they are in the next picture) Now fold as shown in picture... 1) mtn fold 2) valley fold 3) mtn fold 4) valley fold 5) mtn fold 6) valley fold This is how it folds to put in your envelope. Hope you can understand my instructions. If not, let me know and I'll try to help. Thanks for visiting & have fun.
I stopped by MFT Card Challenge again today to see the new sketch. you can check it out here: MFT Card Challenges I was pretty disappointed that I missed the deadline last week by a few hours. I continued to play & create before I got the picture loaded. and blammo - I missed out - well not this week!! When I saw the sketch I knew right away that I wanted to use the BB Party like a Pirate Here is the Sketch : After all of the cutting I need to fink about more dies or a scan N cut!! I also really love to put wink of Stella on metallic things. It just gives it a little something. The circle background is made from masking off a circle, and distress inking the clouds to form the circle in the sketch. I am really loving creating these cards with all of these great cute stamps! If you have a favorite blog with card ideas, please share the link with me so I can get more ideas! thanks for stopping by.

Lawn Fawn knows how to be original. They just released the new Valentine's Day products and have this mini set with an axolotl. It's called I Like You (a Lotl). I created this love themed card (can also be a friendship card) and I'm super happy with the card. I used a piece of Let It Shine pattern paper for the background. I used Pencil Eraser cardstock, which I die cut with the Stitched Scalloped Borders die. I added one to the top and one to the bottom of the Let It Shine paper. I stamped the images and colored them with Copic Markers. Here are the colors I used: Axolotl: R01 - R32 Plants + hearts: R35 - R39 Bubbles: BG000 I die cut the images and added them to the background. I stamped the sentiment and used a white gelly roll pen to add highlights and dots to the axolotl. I wasn't sure when I started this card, but now I'm very happy. I just love that axolotl. These sight word cards follow the Jan Richardson (Next Step Forward in Guided Reading) lists that are organized by reading level! I use these sight word cards for our Word Wall, as well as to make individual word rings for each student - I simply laminate and cut out the cards, hole-punch, and add to a binder ring (picture of this included). When the students master a list, they get to add the next one to their ring. This is great for differentiation, and they love the color-coding! They are always excited to add the next color and feel motivated to complete their rainbow. Great for early-finisher activities too - they just pull out their word ring and practice reading and writing them! Various printing options - color, basic black and white, or on colored paper to save ink! Blank cards included. Level A: am, at, can, go, is, like, me, see, the, to Level B: dad, he, in, it, look, mom, my, on, up, we Level C: and, are, come, for, got, here, not, play, said, you Level D: day, down, into, looking, she, they, went, where, will, your Level E: all, away, back, big, her, over, this, want, who, with Level F: came, have, help, next, now, one, some, then, was, what Levels G, H, I: didn't, don't, eat, from, give, good, make, of, out, saw, were, when Levels G, H, I (cont.): again, because, could, does, every, laugh, many, new, night, very, walk, why

Are you finished with testing? Or maybe just getting started like we are here? I know it is hard to keep kids engaged until the end of the year, so I decided to go with a theme that all kids enjoy: SHARKS! Having SHARK WEEK at school is a great way to keep kids learning even if they don't know it. Below I have some ideas, plus 3 free resources I created that you can use for SHARK WEEK or any time of the year. (Great for emergency sub plans, too!) 1. Sharks Fact and Opinion Sort: Cut and laminate these cards and place in a center/station or use with early finishers. There are 20 fact and opinion statements plus 1 "Fact" and 1 "Opinion" header. Download Shark Fact and Opinion Sort here. 2. I found this great blog post on Pinterest: Shark STEM Activities. One experiment explores buoyancy. Fun Fact: Did you know sharks will sink if they stop swimming? Some sharks including the great white will die if it stops swimming. http://littlebinsforlittlehands.com/shark-week-activities-science-stem/ 3. Sharks True or False: Test your shark knowledge with these 12 true or false statements. Don't worry, there is an answer key included! 4. Did you know the word Galeophobia means an extreme fear of sharks? This activity asks kids to write as many words as possible from the word GALEOPHOBIA. Download Galeophobia Activity and Sharks: True or False here. 5. Books! Place some shark books in your reading center. You could add some extension activities, such as research questions, KWL charts, etc. 6. Finally, you may enjoy this Shark Booklet and Reading Activities. Your students will learn all about sharks, their anatomy, diet and more. It comes with lots of activities to use throughout the week, such as close reading activities, comprehension questions, compare and contrast, graphic organizers, vocabulary and more! Students can easily assemble the booklet and then keep it forever! Thank you for looking! I hope you are able to enjoy some of the activities!
At the beginning of every school year, I like to take mass baselines for all of my students so that I have a good clean idea on where they are toward meeting the goals set for them on their IEPs. Maybe they had a summer miracle or maybe they’ve regressed a little. Today I’m going […]
