Make sure your sub knows student health info & other student needs such as student allergies, medications, or special needs. Let your sub know the class rules & behavior management plan so that they know what to do when a student is acting out. Attention prompts & transition procedures so that your sub knows what signals are used to get students on track and procedures such as lining up, etc. Procedures for arrival & dismissal routines Procedures for getting attendance to the office as well as bathroom/hall pass procedures. Lunchtime, line-up procedures, etc., as well as special procedures for assemblies. Let your sub know the emergency procedures for a drill or an actual emergency event. Let the sub know the indoor recess and natural disaster procedures for either a drill or if an emergency happens while you are away. You can also note indoor recess procedures for severe weather conditions. Instructions for differentiation, if you want your sub to differentiate any of the lessons for certain students, you can give directions here. If you are using lesson plans that are pre-written (including my Ready to Go Sub Plans), note any lesson adjustments that you would like made to the lesson plans. Add any additional notes that you would like to make for your sub. How did your day go? End-of-Day Form, you can leave this form for your sub to fill out at the end of the day so you know how it went. An easy classroom management tool, substitute punch cards that any sub can use!
