How To writing is explored using guided practice activities such as a sample anchor chart and graphic organizers. You'll find writing prompts, an action verb list, a recipe word list, order words coded for beginning, middle and ending transitions, a transitions word list, a success criteria chart and a rubric. Students will learn to understand that this writing genre: Give a clear reason for the process. Provides a list of materials required to conduct the process. Addresses any safety precautions or rules that need to be followed. Includes all necessary steps for the process. Steps should be in proper order (using transition words like “first”, “next”, “then”, “finally”). Is easy to follow and implement. Directions should be clear. There should be no confusion.
