This week, 2nd grade started their Fall reflection paintings. These were created in just a few steps. This project was inspired by, Lauralee Chambers . You can check her work out on Instagram, if you click on her name. Here's how we created ours. First draw out "Y" trees on a folded piece of 90lb paper, with a brown oil pastel. My example got a little wrinkled and dirty this week! Then, add paint! We used tempera cakes! These are our favorites!! The colors are so bright and vibrant! (amazon affiliate link) After the students painted their trees with warm colors, they added a little bit of blue for the sky, and a strip of green for the ground. With the top half complete, the students were to really wet the bottom half of their paper. Don't be too scared to add enough water, or it won't work! You may have to blot the crease if you have excess water, but that's ok! It's better to have too much, than not enough! Next class, when the paint is dry, we will add oil pastels to really make things pop! We'll add leaves, clouds, trunk reflections, and white lines on the bottom half to make it look more like water. “Lauren Stacey is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.”

This capitalization product contains 16 handwriting practice worksheets that focus on fixing up the sentences by using capital letters at the beginning of each sentence. Each worksheet features 2 passages with sentences that have to be fixed up and written again using correct capitalization. Answer key included! The main purpose of this product is to help students get used to USE A CAPITAL LETTER AFTER A PERIOD. Many of my students used to begin a sentence with a capital letter if they were asked to write a sentence at a time, but they got confused if they had to write a passage or a story. These worksheets really helped them with this skill. The passages vary in difficulty for easy differentiation. This product is aligned to the following standards: L.1.2 a: Capitalize dates and names of people L.2.2 a: Capitalize holidays, product names, and geographic names Happy teaching! Dana's Wonderland
