Hello stamping friends, and welcome to another Stamp Review Crew blog hop! This time we are featuring High Tide, which is a beautiful scene building stamp set. There are so many beautiful sentiments in this set, you could use those them with all kinds of other images. I have found myself drawn more to sentiments in the last couple of years, always looking for more great ones to add to my stash. Cuz I keep my stamps when they retire, for the most part. And I still use them! For those who are new to the Stamp Review Crew, here is a little background. We are an international group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators that gets together on the first and third Mondays of every month to do a blog hop. Each hop features a single stamp set to give you loads of inspiration for that set! The hops are archived at the Stamp Review Crew blog, and you will be able to click through each hop at any time, going directly to the posts for that hop whenever you want! And you can click on the banner of this post to go to the master blog roll for this hop also. If you are following along in order, you just arrived from Ann Schach's blog. Her projects are always so elegant! For my first project, I really wanted to highlight the feel of this beautiful sentiment. The lighthouse layers are heat embossed with different color embossing powder- first layer in clear and second layer in white. Then the background was watercolored over it. The sand/rock/beach image was stamped on the watercolored background, and then a wet paintbrush used to blend and soften the image so it would match the feel of the rest of the background. The same was done with the beam of light. Then the sentiment was Copper heat embossed overlapping the lighthouse. Meh, next I will not stamp partially on an embossed image like this. And another angle. Must not waste a good photo! My next project is a dimensional card that folds flat for mailing. LOVE this style! I am still dreaming of a beach vacation, can you tell? Here is the basic how-to for this card. Start with a 4¼"x7" piece of cardstock, score on the long side at 1½" and 5½". Cut a piece of cardstock to just to 4½" wide and several inches long, and score at ¼" and 4¼". Crease well. Apply Tear and Tape or Scor-Tape on the ¼" flaps. Then you can trim each tier down to whatever size you need and it is all ready to be adhered to the inside of the card. Figure out the placement of your images, and adhere to the tiers. Open the cardbase up, and start adhering your tiers, the furthest back and tallest tier first. Line the outer edge of the flap up with the side crease and adhere (the tier will be face down while being adhered), then fold the tier in toward the center. Take the next tier and line the outer edge of the flap up with the edge of the back tier and adhere, then fold the tier in towards the center. Repeat this process until all tiers are adhere. Line the flaps from the other side up even with the bottom of the card, remove the adhesive backing, and fold the other side of the cardbase down over the flaps to adhere them all at once. Open it up and marvel at the adorable card you just made! I love the dimension you get with this technique. And how flat it folds for mailing! So many techniques require extra postage or special packaging. And it fits in a standard A2 envelope. And now, Nikki Spencer! I am sure she has come up with something mouthwatering! 4CQ4DJHN If you have seen something you need for your crafting life, just click the image in the supply list below and it will take you to my store! The stamp set used in these cards, is from the 2017 Occasions catalogue. Everything else is in the Annual Catalogue which runs to May 31, 2017. When you use this gorgeous set of stamps to make cards, they don't need to be extra detailed and fancy to be beautiful. The simplicity of the card below is what makes it so lovely. Emboss a background using the Seaside Embossing Folder. Then, with your Aqua Painters paint in some sky before stamping the birds on the Whisper White card stock. Add your sentiment and finally fill in the ocean using a stamp from the set and two shades of ink. Quick, easy and beautiful to behold. This next card uses a few more stamps included in the set and the Festive Embossing Folder for the background. The card is monochromatic (single coloured) and the differing shades of grey are achieved by stamping ink off on a scrap of paper before stamping on the Whisper White paper. Add in a sliver of 1/8" Smoky Slate stitched ribbon, and a couple of Rhinestones for the lighthouse windows and you are done with a second quick, easy and striking card. Want a closer look at the stamp set so that you can see the sentiments? What are you waiting for? Sunny days by the sea are fond memories I have of my childhood, so when I saw the Stamp Set, High Tide appear in the Spring/Summer Catalogue, I knew I had to buy it. I couldn't grow up by the Sea in Brighton and not own this Stamp Set. The Two Step Stamping helps to create this fabulous lighthouse and the Seaside Embossing Folder, adds a great textural matting layer to the background. The sky may not be coloured, but I still love the simplicity of this card and the detail. Now to book up a visit to the seaside for a Fish and Chip lunch on the beach ... which was how my husband and I spent our first date together, 8 years ago next week ... ahhh the memories. New Items have been added to the Sale-a-Bration offering. Be sure to check it out.

Hi there, friends! Isn't it amazing how fast we roll back around to Sunday?! The good thing about that though is it's the start of another week with The Paper Players! This time, our wonderful Joanne is hostess for a Tic-Tac-Toe challenge...take a look: I continue to work my way through my newest SU stamp sets with a new-to-me set...High Tide. I'm not a huge fan of the nautical look but I love all the creative elements in this stamp set. The shoreline that fits right under the lighthouse, the swaying beach grasses, the gorgeous sentiments and those birds! Oh my, what's not to love? Oh yeah, and it's photopolymer (clear) too...bonus! For the Tic-Tac-Toe board I worked diagonally with blue, enamel dots, and birthday. I've seen a lot of cards made with this stamp set that feature a sandy shoreline for the lighthouse. Since this card is destined for my FIL, I needed to give it a grassy base...just like the Cana Island Lighthouse they see from their front window on the shores of Lake Michigan. I've stamped the lighthouse to look like the Cana Island one too which is all white. The Smoky Slate color is similar--it could be a white lighthouse shaded with the setting sun. The lighthouse is a two-step stamp and I used Smoky Slate for both layers. You might remember a tip I shared in this post about using the backside of our photopolymer stamps for a solid image. I used that technique again here to stamp the background of the water in Marina Mist ink and the ripples of water in a darker Dapper Denim. It adds a fabulous depth and dimension to the water. On the inside, I stamped a setting sun over the water. The water is stamped again in Marina Mist--this time using the "right side" of the stamp. The sun and sun rays are also part of this set and stamped here in Crushed Curry. Love that this triangle stamp can be used either as a beam of light (as on the front of the card) or for a ray of sunshine! The birthday sentiment is from another stamp set--Best Birds--in my stash. I made a second card with a Very Vanilla base (love that new thick vanilla cardstock!) and changed the inside for a different purpose. The sentiments in this set really are wonderful--with a trendy look of mixed fonts and heartfelt thoughts. I hope you've enjoyed today's card. We would love for you to play along with us at The Paper Players. Be sure to check out all the other inspiration from my teammates and then play along before our challenge ends on Friday, August 3rd at Noon (EST). Hello stampers. I fell in love with Stampin'Up! because it gave me the tools I needed to become an artist. Now that is a very big deal because I never felt artistic. In fact, I avoided art in school. Fast forward to Beautiful You. Now that is the perfect set to help you discover your inner artist. There are TONS of great cards out there using this set and so many different techniques to try. One of my favourites is the reflection technique, and it is much easier than you might think. The card below was totally cased from Sandi

Wow! And WOW again!! I am IN LOVE with this stamp set. I wanted to make a "WOW" card - for this Wednesday so I borrowed the High Tide ...
I was recently commissioned to design a masculine birthday card that would be hand-delivered. The fun thing about a hand-delivered card is that the sky's the limit since size and bulk won't be an issue. However, making a masculine card never seems to be an easy task. I literally had no idea what I wanted to make, but my first step in the process was to look at each of my stamp sets and start bringing some of them to my desk. Nautical was it! Stampin' Up!'s High Tide stamp set appeared to have all that I needed, and I chose to make a Double Z-Fold design . . . with a coordinating envelope, of course. The Envelope Punch Board was very handy for making the envelope! I used the Happy Birthday Thinlits die to cut the shape from Very Vanilla cardstock, and it was the perfect size to decorate the envelope. The anchor image was borrowed from The Open Sea stamp set, which retired a while back. I used VersaMark ink to stamp the image on the envelope flap and then embossed it with gold embossing powder. Don't you agree that a shiny heat-embossed image takes a project to a higher level? In case you're wondering, this card was 5-1/2" x 5-1/2". The cardstock colors used throughout this project are Very Vanilla and Night of Navy. Other products used include Stampin' Dimensionals, twine, and non-Stampin' Up! designer paper that was found in my stash. Tear & Tape adhesive was placed on the flap so that once the card has been signed and placed in the envelope, it will be ready to seal.
When I first saw the High Tide stamp set, I thought it would be so hard to use. Boy was I wrong!!!! This is such a fun and easy stamp set to work with […]
