These include my handmade enfleurage, tinctures, enfleurage extraits, absolutes, resinoids and concretes, and floral waxes. I spend as much time growing plants and foraging as I do composing perfumes. h o w ☽•☾ t o ☽•☾ w e a r The best way to experience a natural perfume is to apply it to well-moisturized skin, without rubbing in (absorption only shortens the wear time of fragrance) and without scrubbing off. Natural perfumes are dynamic and take a minimum of 2 hours to reach their final stage, or dry down. Enjoy the alchemical changes as they unfold from the initial intensity of top notes, to the warmth of the heart, to the depth of lower base notes. ☽•☾ Wild Veil ☽•☾ alchemy between earth and ether ☽•☾ ☽•☾ All aesthetic material copyright Abby Hinsman 2021 ☽•☾

INADAN is the Tamasheq word for "artist." This collection of henna patterns, originally drawn from 2002-2004, has been re-formatted to be added permanently to my list of henna design titles. The patterns in Inadan are drawn from Tuareg and Wodaabe art of North and West Africa. Strong geometric patterns are rendered with a unique flair that is almost modernist in sensibility. Symbols of mountains, stars, sand dunes, and desert flora are present. Inadan contains 26 pages of henna patterns from beginner to advanced levels. This is an Adobe PDF file, meant to be viewed digitally or printed for your own use. As this is a re-release, it is important to note that if you have followed my work a long time, you may already have these patterns in your collection. They were released under several other titles including 'Sahel' and 'Tuareg.' If you buy this book and find that it is already in your collection under another name, simply message me within 14 days of your purchase and I will be happy to issue you a refund.

This sand was collected from the sand dunes of the largest hot desert in the world—the Sahara. The Sahara covers most of the northern half of the African continent along the Tropic of Cancer and makes up about 8% of Earth’s total land area. The only deserts larger than the Sahara are the Antarctic and Arctic cold deserts. About half of the desert consists of hyperarid seas of sand, called ergs. Much of the rest consists of dry, sparse shrublands covered in a stony “desert pavement”. Most of the desert averages less than 20 mm (0.8”) of rainfall each year; however, the region experiences long cycles of wet and dry periods thought to correspond to Earth’s axial procession. In the next 15,000 years, this cycle is expected to return the Sahara to green savanna. An effort is currently underway to ensure environmental and food security for the region’s growing population. The Great Green Wall is a plan to plant a wall of trees along the southern edge of the Sahara by 2030. Collecting exotic sands from around the world is a popular scientific hobby, and your collection has just begun. Each jar contains 1 oz of Sahara sand
