På Aros med en god veninde og hendes 2 årige datter. Jeg har årskort hvilket virkelig kan anbefales, da man med god samvittighed kan nøjes med at se nogle af udstillingerne og gemme andre til en anden gang. Vi nåede at være i "rainbow", hvilket jeg aldrig bliver træt af og så tog vi en hurtig runde i særudstillingen "Modernisme - maleriets fornyelse 1908 - 41", som kører frem til 26. august 2012. Modernisme og i særdeleshed kubisme er min absolutte favorit, jeg bliver helt bjergtaget af enkeltheden, fladerne og farverne, og er meget begejstret for især Harald Giersing og Vilhelm Lundstrøm. Harald Giersing (Copenhagen, April 24, 1881 - Copenhagen, January 15, 1927), a Danish painter, was instrumental in developing the classic modernism movement in Denmark around 1910-1920. He is remembered as one of Denmark's most important 20th-century artists both for his portraits and landscapes. For many years, Giersing had taken a special interest in painting football scenes. However, it was not until 1917 that he adapted his approach to a rather aggressive and dynamic cubist interpretation as can be seen in Sofus Heading from 1917. The football paintings, like his ballet scenes, were based on photographs as starting points. In these vivid pictures, the dancers have no eyes or their faces are covered by masks.
