1969 Jerusalem Poster, The Western Wailing Wall, photo by David Rubinger, The Holy Land, Israel, Travel tourism wall art decor This beautiful poster shows a photo of Jerusalem in 1969, and shows a very good view of the Wailing Wall and central area not built up and developed as it is seen today. Printed in Tel Aviv, Isreal by United Artists Ltd Dimensions: 35 in x 27 in (88 cm x 68 cm) The Wailing Wall is an ancient limestone wall in the Old City of Jerusalem. It is a relatively small segment of a far longer ancient retaining wall, known also in its entirety as the "Western Wall".The wall was originally erected as part of the expansion of the Second Jewish Temple begun by Herod the Great, which resulted in the encasement of the natural, steep hill known to Jews and Christians as the Temple Mount, in a huge rectangular structure topped by a flat platform, thus creating more space for the Temple itself, its auxiliary buildings, and crowds of worshipers and visitors. Because of the age of these posters, there are areas of wear and tear, particularly on the edges. I have done my best to take photos where they are torn or stained. The good news is that when framed, the tears press up well against glass, and edges can be hidden by mats. Any wear picked up from years are part of the vintage charm. When framed these colourful and detailed posters, with vibrant colours can become a centre piece for any room, to remind us of a simpler time. These posters are sent as unframed. They will be delivered in a cardboard tube for protection. See the FAQ for more information on shipping, tracking and insurance options.
