Hi everyone. Laurie here from the design team with my Graphic 45 Ocean Blue Waterfall Album. For my second project, I wanted to make something that I could add my favorite photos from my time spent in the San Diego area to. The Ocean Blue collection by Graphic 45 is so perfect! Ocean Blue Waterfall Album Album Details I used weight chipboard to create my cover. Next, I covered the chipboard with ivory linen cardstock and, matted the patterned paper with navy card stock. I only sponged ink on the edges of the patterned paper. I had some "ribbon" in my stash that resembled netting so I added a strip to the cover. After that, I used the circle die cut element and fussy cut the seahorse and fish from the Cozumel sheet. I used a die from my stash to create some "seaweed" for the fish to swim through, and jazzed up the corners with some of the Matte Pearl Gems. Inside of the Album On the inside, I added two waterfalls (one on each cover piece) with regular Graphic 45 tags as the closures. I then used some lightweight twine to tie them closed. Right Waterfall Left Waterfall Each waterfall has the same papers from the Graphic 45 Ocean Blue 12x12 Collection Pack on each page. I added a navy mat to the tag closures using the G45 Regular Tag and Gears Die Set. Then, I added some patterned paper and a small cut apart to each one. I added a full mat to the top page, a 3/8-inch strip to cover the scored flap, and a 3/4-inch strip to the bottom of each page using the tan striped sheet from the Ocean Blue Patterns and Solids Collection. On the back of the pages I added a 3/4-inch strip at the top (when flipped up). Open Waterfall Individual Waterfall Pages A Special Addition I wanted to add something for special journaling to this album so I used the lined booklet from the Graphic 45 Notebook Set. I covered the outside and inside of the covers with papers from the 12x12 collection pad and added some elements from the Stickers and Die Cut Assortment found here. Travel Journal Cover So, on the back cover of the Travel Journal I added my favorite piece from the Ocean Blue Ephemera Pack... Back of Travel Journal I added two eyelets to the spine and attached the journal using some heavy baker's twine from my stash. Finally, I tied on some fun nautical trinkets that I found online to give it vintage finishing touch. Spine with Trinkets I had so much fun making this album. The Graphic 45 Ocean Blue Waterfall Album may look complicated but is surprisingly simple to put together. Hello dear visitors! I'm excited to share another mini album I created using gorgeous Graphic 45 papers "Craft Reflections". It's not a new collection and I have had it for a long time in my stash. I thought it was perfect for a vintage style mini album like the one I'm showing you today. The album's dimensions are 5 1/4" X 6 5/8", the spine is 3". It has 8 pocket pages and I used envelopes (standard size 6.5" X 4.5") for creating the base for them. I also used quite a few of Tim Holtz & Sizzix dies, I think they are perfect for the vintage style projects. WELCOME BACK TO THE GRAPHIC 45 CALENDAR FOLIO SERIES! We are getting close to the end! We just have December to go! And it is completed, I just have to get it posted! I actually finished both months back in November 2018, but with my surgery in December and the recovery...I am just now getting to the tutorials! To see ALL of the completed folios, see the end of the post where there are links to all the months completed so far. I have also added a TAB at the top of the blog so you can always go there to find all the folios. I have the November Folios to share today. The November Folios are all decorated in a vintage Fall and Thanksgiving theme, suitable for photos of Thanksgiving, harvest parties, and other fall holidays. We are continuing to use the Graphic 45 Children's Hour Collection for this month. (This collection is now very hard to find, so if you are thinking of starting this folio series as of today, you will probably have to substitute another paper line, unless you can find Children's Hour online somewhere.) We will use the 12x12, 8x8, and 6x6 pads, plus some of the other items from the collection. This month, we are also going to be using the Place in Time Deluxe Collector's Edition (plus some of the original collection, since it is in my stash in abundance). We are also using Time to Flourish (which is retired, but sometimes you can still find it online). I am also using quite a bit of the Seasons Collection, including the ephemera cards. As always, feel free to substitute anything in your stash that you feel works well for a fall themed project. I have used dark brown cardstock for the base. See the full supply list below. The November folios consist of one calendar folio (8 1/4" x 8 1/4") and one scrapbook folio (8" x 8"). These folios hold AT LEAST twelve (12) photos. You can customize them for fewer or more photos, or for journaling, or to use as a planner. The folios are the same basic construction as the all the other folios. To see the other tutorials, check the links at the end of the post. We will be using DARK BROWN cardstock for this project, so don't let the photos with black cardstock fool you! Before getting started, I recommend cutting up ONE EACH of the Cut Apart and Collective sheets from the various paper collections. That way you will have all the images needed, as we will also use the prints on the reverse sides of most papers. (Note: I may have used more than 2 sheets of some of the paper, but if you cannot do that, substitute something else from the collections or something from your stash that coordinates.) I also recommend the Ephemera card packs, if you can find them. November Calendar Folio The November Folio is side-fold folio, measuring 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" when closed. This theme is perfect for fall and Thanksgiving memories. The orange, gold, brown, and green color scheme carries throughout the project. The folio opens with areas for photos and journaling. This month we are going to create two pockets, perfect for tags, calendar pages, and more! Let's get started! Cut one sheet of dark brown cardstock to 8 1/4" x 8 1/4". Cut a second sheet of dark brown cardstock to 8 1/4" x 8 3/4". Score the second piece on the long side at 1/2" to make a second 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" panel. Fold and burnish the score line. Attach the two sheets together to create a folio that is 8 1/4" tall and 16 1/2" wide. Make sure the fold is on the left-hand side of the folio, so that the folio opens like a book. Create a pocket for the left inside page. Cut dark brown cardstock to 7" x 7". Score at 1/2" from the left, right, and bottom edges. Fold on the score lines and add double-sided tape to the tabs. With the tabs folded inward, your piece will measure a 6 1/2" tall by 6" wide rectangle. With tabs folded, measure in 4" from the upper left corner and make a mark. Measure up 3" from the bottom right corner and make a mark. Draw a line connecting the two marks. Cut this section from the pocket. With the tabs folded, your piece will look like the photo above. This view shows the back of the pocket. The tabs have adhesive attached. To help with cutting your decorative paper for the pocket, we will create a template. Place the pocket, with tabs folded, onto a scrap of paper. Use a pencil to trace the shape of the pocket. Cut out the shape. Then, cut a little off each edge of the shape, making it slightly smaller than the pocket. Use this paper template to aid you in cutting your decorative paper for the pocket. Save this template for the future projects. Before placing the pocket onto the left page, as shown above, you need to first cover the inside of the folio page. Cut Time to Flourish November Flourish (reverse, green collage) paper to 8 1/8" x 8 1/8" and attach to the left page of the folio. Attach the pocket to the page as shown. Let's create a pocket for the right-hand page. Cut dark brown cardstock 5 1/2" x 9 1/4". Score at 1/2" from the left, right, and bottom edges. Fold on the score lines and add double-sided tape to the tabs. If desired, trim the tabs at an angle, as shown. Attach the pocket to the right-hand page. Now, close the folio, making sure the fold is on the left side. Now, let's decorate! We will start with the front cover. Cut dark gold/yellow cardstock to 8 1/8" x 8 1/2" and attach it to the front of the folio. Attach the Children's Hour 8x8 November Calendar page to the gold cardstock on the front of the folio. Trim the postage strip from Children's Hour November Collective paper and attach it to the left side of the calendar. Using a die cut template, trim a doily shape from ivory cardstock. Attach the doily to the right side of the calendar page, as shown Mat the Seasons Autumn Collective image with dark brown cardstock and attach it to folio, as shown. Tuck the "Be Thankful" Time to Flourish banner under the lower left corner of the image. Place a brad into the hole of the Children's Hour chipboard tag and glue the tag to the upper right corner of the image. Hot glue some fall florals to the left side of the main image, as shown. I used some spray mists to "colorize" a few white flowers from my stash. I also used some bits from fall "picks" that I found at the craft store. The cover is finished. Open the folio and we will work on the left-hand page. You should have already attached the background paper and the pocket to this page. (Use Time to Flourish November Flourish (reverse, green collage) paper, cut to to 8 1/8" x 8 1/8" for the background.) Using the template we made in the steps above, trim Seasons Autumn (pumpkin collage) paper to fit the pocket and attach. Trim the "Thanksgiving" border strip from Place in Time November Cut Apart paper. Attach the border to the bottom of the pocket, trimming to size. Use die cut templates to cut two circles from Children's Hour 6x6 Patterns and Solids paper (brown dots). Cut one circle 3" in diameter and the second circle 2 1/4". Mat both with dark brown cardstock, cut slightly larger. Attach the circles to the pocket, as shown. Trim the November journaling strip from Place in Time November Cut Apart paper. Attach the strip to the upper right side of the page. Attach a small banner from Time To Flourish Banners and a chipboard element from Children's Hour to the bottom edge of the journaling strip. Let's make some tags for our pocket! Use two of the Graphic 45 Large Kraft Tags. (They come six per pack.) For one tag, trim 1" from the bottom edge. Round the bottom corners. For the second tag, trim 1 1/2" from the bottom edge, then round the corners. (A black tag is shown here, but use KRAFT for your project.) Trim Children's Hour 12x12 November Calendar paper (reverse, orange print) paper to 6 7/8" x 3 3/4". Round all four corners and attach the paper to the front of the longer tag. Attach an image sticker (Children's Hour) to dark brown cardstock, trim and attach with foam adhesive to the upper right of the tag. Trim Children's Hour Montage (collage print) paper to 6 3/8" x 3 3/4". Round all four corners and attach the paper to the front of the shorter tag. Flip the tags over. Trim Time to Flourish November Flourish paper to 6 7/8" x 3 3/4". Round all four corners and attach the paper to the back of the longer tag. Trim Seasons 12x12 Patterns and Solids (orange text) paper to 6 3/8" x 3 3/4". Round all four corners and attach the paper to the back of the shorter tag. Place the tags into the pocket. Let's work on the right page. Trim Children's Hour November Montage paper to 4" x 8 1/8" and attach it above the pocket. Trim Seasons 12x12 Patterns and Solids (orange flowers) paper to 4 5/8" x 8 1/8" and attach it to the pocket. Trim the border strip from Children's Hour Collective paper and attach it to the pocket as shown. Trim the "November" border from Children's Hour November Collective paper and attach it to the top center of the pocket. Now, let's create some paper pretties to place into the pocket. We will make one calendar card and two tags for this pocket. Trim dark brown cardstock to 8" x 8". Trim the Time to Flourish 8x8 November Calendar page to 7 7/8" x 7 7/8" and attach it to the card. Trim the leaf border strip from Children's Hour November Collective paper and attach it to the bottom of the calendar. Trim a postage image from Place in Time November Cut Apart paper and attach it to the top right corner of the calendar. Use a G45 Large Kraft Tag for the longer tag. Trim 1 1/2" from the bottom of the tag and round the corners. Trim Place in Time November Cut Apart (reverse) paper to 6 3/8" x 3 3/4", using the pumpkin and brown flowers part of the print. Round the corners and attach the paper to the tag front. For the second tag, use a G45 Regular Kraft Tag. Cut Children's Hour November Montage (reverse) paper to 4 7/8" x 3 3/4". Round all four corners and attach the paper to the front of the smaller tag. Flip all three items over. Trim Time to Flourish November Cut Apart (reverse, orange print) paper to 7 7/8" x 7 7/8" and attach it to the back of the card. Trim the Place in Time November Cut Apart wheat border strip to 7 7/8" and attach to the bottom of the card. Trim three postage images from Seasons Autumn Collective paper and attach them to the top left of the card. Trim Seasons 12x12 Patterns and Solids (gold/yellow) paper to 6 3/8" x 3 3/4". Round the corners and attach the paper to the back of the longer tag. Add the "Harvest Time" image from Place in Time November Cut Apart paper to the left corner of the tag. Attach a Children's Hour chipboard pumpkin circle to the tag, as shown. For the second tag, trim Time to Flourish November Flourish (reverse, green print) paper to 4 7/8" x 3 7/8". Round all four corners and attach the paper to the back of the smaller tag. Place the card and tags into the pocket. Close the folio and flip to to the back side. Cut Time to Flourish November Flourish paper to 8 1/8" x 8 1/8" and attach it to the back panel. The calendar folio is finished! Add photos and journaling, as desired. November Scrapbook Folio This matching November Scrapbook Folio measures 8" x 8" and is a top-folding folio, decorated inside and out. It is perfect for journaling, ephemera, and photos. Like the calendar folio, this project can be displayed on your desk or shelf during the month of November. We will continue to use the same color scheme and theme as the first folio. The inside of the folio contains four flaps and a two pockets. The pockets are stuffed with fun tags and photo mats. Everything is decorated in a vintage Thanksgiving/Fall theme. We will construct the base for the folio first, and then decorate it. (Please remember, we are using dark brown cardstock for this folio, but some of the photos will show black cardstock. Don't let that worry you!) Cut one piece of dark brown cardstock to 8" x 8". Cut a second piece of dark brown cardstock to 8 1/2" x 8" and score 1/2" from the top edge. Fold and burnish on the score line. Add double-sided tape to the tab. Attach the tab to the top of the 8" x 8" piece of cardstock, creating a top-fold folio, 8" x 8". Open the folio. It is 16" tall and 8" wide. Cut a piece of dark brown cardstock to 4 1/8" x 6 5/8". Score 1/2" from the right edge. Attach the scored tab to the top left panel of the folio. Place the flap 1" from the top edge. The flap will be 4 1/8" x 6 1/8". Cut dark brown cardstock to 4 1/8" x 4 5/8". Score 1/2" from the left edge. Attach the scored tab to the top left panel of the folio. Place the flap 3" from the top edge. The flap will be 4 1/8" x 4 1/8". Now, we will create a pocket for the upper panel. (Sorry, mine looks a bit worse for wear!) Cut dark brown cardstock to 3 1/2" x 9". Score at 1/2" from the right, left, and bottom edges. Add double-sided adhesive to the tabs. (Note: I cut an angled bit off the ends of the tabs, where they meet, to decrease the bulk at the bottom edge of the pocket.) Attach the pocket to the bottom edge of the upper panel, just above the fold. Cut a piece of dark brown cardstock to 6 1/8" x 4 5/8". Score 1/2" from the right edge. Attach the scored tab to the bottom left panel of the folio. Place the flap 1" below the fold. The flap will be 6 1/8" x 4 1/8". Cut a piece of dark brown cardstock to 4 1/8" x 6 5/8". Score 1/2" from the left edge. Attach the scored tab to the bottom right panel of the folio. Place the flap 1 3/4" below the fold. The flap will be 4 1/8" x 6 1/8". Let's create a pocket for the bottom page. Cut dark brown cardstock 5 1/2" x 9". Score at 1/2" from the left, right, and bottom edges. Fold on the score lines and add double-sided tape to the tabs. If desired, trim the tabs at an angle, as shown. Attach the pocket to the bottom edge of the page. Fold all the flaps closed, and then close the folio. We will work on the front cover next. Make sure your main fold is at the TOP of the folio! We will now decorate the front cover. Cut Children's Hour November Montage (reverse) paper to 7 7/8" x 7 7/8". Attach the paper to the front of the folio. Cut Seasons Autumn (reverse) paper to 7 7/8" x 4". Mat with darkbrown cardstock cut to 7 7/8" x 4 1/8". Attach this panel to the left side of the folio, approximately 1/2" from the left edge. Use a decorative border punch to punch a strip of dark brown cardstock. Trim to 7 7/8" long. Cut the "falling leaves" border from Seasons Autumn Collective paper to 7 7/8" long. Affix the punched border to the bottom of the border strip. Place the border at the top edge of the panel. Select the November ephemera card from the Children's Hour ephemera pack (or trim the image from Children's Hour November Collective paper). Mat the image with gold and dark green cardstock, making each layer slightly larger, as shown. Attach the image to the right side of the folio, approximately 1 1/2" from the top edge and 1/2" from the right edge. Use foam adhesive to attach the "Harvest" sentiment, cut from the Children's Hour November Collective paper, to the left side of the image, as shown. Assemble a "bouquet" from some fall-themed flowers and other floral items and glue them to the cover as shown. Add a chipboard button (Time To Flourish collection), tucked under the top edge of the flower bouquet. We will work on the inside panels next. First, we will decorate the top, inside panel, the two flaps, and the pocket. Open both top flaps. We will work on the top base first. Trim Children's Hour November Montage paper to 5 1/4" x 7 7/8" and attach it to the top portion of the panel, tucking the bottom edge into the pocket. Trim Place in Time November Cut Apart (reverse) green check paper to 2 7/8" x 7 7/8" and attach it to the pocket. Trim the November title from the Children's Hour 12x12 Calendar Pad to approximately 1 7/8" x 7" and mat with dark brown cardstock cut slightly larger. (I inked around the edge of the title with some rust colored ink.) Attach the title to the center of the pocket. Let's decorate the flaps, and then make some items for inside the pocket. Start with the left-hand flap. Attach the Time to Flourish November ephemera card to the panel. To decorate the right-hand flap, trim out the Autumn image from Time to Flourish November Cut Apart paper. Attach the image to the flap as shown. Now, let's make some goodies for our pocket! (We will decorate the outside of both flaps after we make the items for the pocket.) We are going to make a large photo mat, two smaller photo mats, and a square tag to tuck into our pocket. Cut dark brown cardstock to 6" x 7 3/4". Cut Place in Time November Cut Apart (reverse) paper to 5 7/8" x 7 5/8" and attach it to the dark brown cardstock. (See the sample above to determine which part of the pattern you should use.) Cut two pieces of dark brown cardstock to 6 1/8" x 4 1/8". Cut the "November" ephemera card from Time to Flourish November Cut Apart paper paper to 6" x 4" and attach to one of the pieces of cardstock. Attach the Seasons "Thankful for the Season" ephemera card to the second piece of dark brown cardstock. To create the tag element, use a Graphic 45 kraft square tag. Cut Seasons Autumn (reverse) paper to 4 3/8" x 4 3/8" and round all four corners. Attach the paper to the front of the tag. Flip all the pieces over to the back. For the large photo mat, cut Seasons 12x12 Patterns and Solids orange text paper to 5 7/8" x 7 5/8" and attach it to the back of the card. Trim Seasons 12x12 Patterns and Solids brown stripe paper to 6" x 4" and attach to the back of the "November" ephemera card. Cut out a postage image from Place in Time November Cut Apart paper and use foam adhesive to attach it to the upper left corner of the card. Trim Seasons 12x12 Patterns and Solids orange flowers paper to 6" x 4" and attach to the back of the "Thankful" ephemera card. Trim Children's Hour November Montage (reverse) paper to 4 3/8" x 4 3/8" and round all four corners. Attach the paper to the back of the tag. Place all your items into the pocket. Close the left-hand flap. Trim an ephemera card from Seasons Autumn Collective paper to 4" x 6" and attach it to the flap. Trim out the "Warm Greetings" image from Time to Flourish November Cut Apart paper. Attach the image to the flap as shown. Now, let's work on the bottom panel. Open both flaps so you can work on the center panel. Cut Time to Flourish November Flourish paper to 3" x 7 7/8" and attach the paper above the pocket. Trim Seasons 12x12 Patterns and Solids (brown flowers) paper to 4 7/8" x 7 7/8" and attach the paper to the pocket. Trim out the postcard tag image from Children's Hour November Collective paper and attach it to the bottom right corner of the pocket. Add a small punched circle (punched from a scrap of paper) to the postcard tag. Let's decorate the flaps. Attach the Children's Hour November ephemera card (reverse side) to the left-hand flap. Add a postage stamp image, cut from Children's Hour November Collective paper to the upper left corner of the ephemera card. Trim the green journal card from Children's Hour November Collective paper to 4" x 6" and attach it to the right-hand flap. Now, let's make some items for our pocket! We are going to make a large photo mat, a small photo mat, and a tag to tuck into the pocket. Cut dark brown cardstock to 7 3/4" x 7 3/4" Trim Children's Hour November Collective (green stripe) paper to 7 5/8" x 7 5/8" and attach it to the cardstock. Trim the November border from Place in Time November Cut Apart paper. Attach the border to the top of the card as shown. Cut dark brown cardstock to 6" x 5 1/2". Trim Seasons Autumn 8x8 paper to 5 7/8 x 5 3/8 and attach it to the cardstock. Trim out two postage images from Seasons Autumn 8x8 paper. For the tag, use a G45 Large Kraft Tag. Cut 1 1/2" from the bottom of the tag and round the corners. Trim Children's Hour Montage paper to 6 3/8" x 3 3/4" and round the corners. Attach the paper to the front of the tag. Trim a postage image from Children's Hour November Collective paper and attach it to the left side of the tag as shown. Flip all the pieces over. Trim November Montage paper to 7 5/8" x 7 5/8" and attach it to the back of the cardstock. Trim leaf border Time to Flourish November Cut Apart paper and attach it to the top of the panel. Trim Seasons Autumn 12x12 Patterns and Solids (brown flowers) paper to 5 7/8" x 5 3/8" and attach the paper to the smaller card. Attach the "Thankful" journaling spot from the Seasons Tag and Pockets set to the right edge of the panel, as shown. Trim Seasons 12x12 Patterns and Solids (orange flowers) paper to 6 3/8" x 3 3/4" and round the corners. Attach the paper to the back of the tag. Trim a postage images from Children's Hour November Collective paper and attach it to the tag as shown. Place all your items into the pocket. Close the right-hand flap. Trim Time to Flourish November Cut Apart (reverse) paper to 4" x 6" and attach the image to the flap. Trim out the fall post card image from Place in Time November Cut Apart paper and mat it with dark brown cardstock. Place the image onto the center of the flap. Trim out a postage stamp image from Place in Time November Cut Apart paper and place it in the upper right corner of the post card image. Close the left-hand flap. Time the "Autumn" ephemera card from Seasons Autumn Collective paper (or use one of the Seasons ephemera cards). Place the ephemera card onto the flap. The inside of the folio is finished! Close the folio and flip it over so that back is facing up with the fold at the top. Trim Time to Flourish November Flourish (reverse) paper to 7 7/8" x 7 7/8" and attach to the back panel. Trim the "Lazy Days" border from Children's Hour November Collective paper to 7 7/8" long and attach it to the top of the panel. And, you are FINISHED with the November folios! Just browsing the web when I came across the new line by Graphic 45. That's when my heart stopped beating and I went a little "Mad". Their n...

I would like to share with you my first project to kick off this holiday season: a Halloween album using the amazing collection from Graphic 45 Steampunk Spells. As usually happens with all the Graphic 45 collections, I immediately fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. The amazing detail in each of their papers make them a pleasure to work with. My cover is the awesome steampunk lady that I mounted on chipboard. I made her 3D using pop ups dots. The Album is big in size: 81/2 by 11 inches to accomodate an incredible amount of space for photos and journaling. Orange, black and gold are the primary colors used. But this unexpected blue makes the album so much more fun to look at. There is amazing details in every paper. Little or no embellishments are necessary to create awesome pages. An array of different characters pop in every corner of the album. As usual it was an absolute delight to work with this collection. Thank for reading and your comments!

Hello, Graphic 45 Fans! It is time to share another Graphic 45 project with you! I had such fun playing with the NEW Lost in Paradise collection a few weeks ago (see the project HERE) that I decided to dip into the papers again, along with some other (retired) collections, and make a mini album! This chunky monkey mini is 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" x 2 1/2" in size! It is a nice, square, chubby book! I confess, I was a bit afraid of all the color and print in this paper collection. I finally had to throw caution to the wind and EMBRACE the vibrant colors and just create! There are six pages inside the book, plus a waterfall inside the front cover and a big pocket inside the back cover. This book is jam-packed with pull outs, flip ups, tags, and more! I have used four collections for this mini, but don't let that scare you! There is plenty of paper in one collection, if you have the 12x12 collection pack and the 12x12 patterns and solids pad, to make this book. If you add in and 8x8 pad and a package of ephemera cards, you will be all set! I have used: Lost in Paradise, Tropical Travelogue (I used the original, but you can use the Deluxe Collector's Edition), Nature Sketchbook, and Safari Adventure. You may be able to find Nature Sketchbook or Safari Adventure on Ebay, but they are both retired. To see all the pages and inside content, please view the video below. For the tutorial, keep reading. I have a photo tutorial to explain how to create the album base, plus a few tips for decorating. Also, I have used a different hinge mechanism than the one I usually use. I have been finding that the old hinge piece is not always working the way I wish. So, I tried something else this time. See the directions below. Start off with three pieces of heavy to medium weight chipboard. Cut two pieces for the covers to 6 1/4" x 6 1/4". Cut the spine piece to 6 1/4" x 2 1/2". Splice together black cardstock to make a piece that measures 8 1/4" tall and 17 1/2" wide. Place your chipboard pieces onto the cardstock, with a one-inch border all the way around. Make sure to space your spine chipboard piece approximately 1/4" from the cover pieces to allow the album to open and close without cracking the cardstock. Cut the corners of the cardstock an an angle, as shown. Add double-sided adhesive to the tabs. Then wrap your cardstock around the chipboard to give a finished edge. The book will have six pages (12 sides). To make the hinges, cut six pieces of heavy weight black cardstock to 6 1/8" x 1". (I used 110# cardstock.) Score each in half, fold and burnish. (Only five hinges are shown above, but please make six. One of my hinges was in the book before I thought to snap a photo!) Place double-sided adhesive on one side of each score line, as shown. To add your first hinge, line the fold of the hinge piece up with the very edge of the spine chipboard piece, with the fold on the LEFT. The 1/2" hinge will stick up, and the 1/2" gutter will be attached, as shown. For the second hinge, place the fold to the RIGHT and overlap the gutter from hinge number one. The gutter for hinge number two will be up against hinge one, as shown. For hinges three through six, make sure the fold is to the RIGHT. The gutter for each hinge should be placed up against each previous hinge, as shown. There should be a 1/2" gutter between each hinge. For hinge number six, line up the fold of the hinge piece with the very edge of the spine chipboard piece, with the fold on the RIGHT. This is what your project should look like so far. The six hinges will cover the spine piece. Each hinge is 1/2" high and there is a 1/2" gutter between each hinge. Cut five strips of decorative paper to 6" x 3/8" and sponge the edges with Abandoned Coral Distress ink. Attach one paper strip to each hinge gutter, as shown. Fold the hinges back and forth to make them more flexible. You can see in the photo above the gap between the spine and the cover chipboard pieces. I like to reinforce that and with the old hinge system, the space was always covered. With this type of hinge, we need to add a covering piece to the front and back inside covers to reinforce the gap. (This is optional and personal preference.) Cut two pieces of black cardstock (use weight 65#-80#) to 6 1/8" x 1 1/2". Score both pieces at 1/2" and add double-sided adhesive to the 1/2" tab. Place the 1/2" section on top of the first hinge to secure it in place (this will make the first hinge a double thickness). Once the piece is attached to the hinge, glue the 1" section to the inside front cover. Burnish and gently score the spine gap. Repeat with the last hinge and back inside cover. Trim two pieces of decorative paper to 6 1/8" x 6 1/8" and attach to the inside covers. (Sponge all papers for this project with the Abandoned Coral Distress Ink or Decades Rustic Orange, if desired.) To create the waterfall section on the front cover, cut six panels from black cardstock to 3 5/8" tall by 4 1/8" wide. Score on the longer side at 1/2". Round the corners opposite your score lines. Fold on the score lines, making sure to fold the 1/2" tab to the back of the panel. Place double-sided adhesive onto the resulting 1/2" tabs. Start at the top edge of the cover and add your panels. Line up the first panel with the top edge of the cover, in the center. Continue to attach the panels, lining up the folded edge of each panel to the bottom edge of the tab of each previous panel. Trim thin strips of paper to place over each tab, covering the black cardstock. These strips are approximately 3/8" x 4". Place a magnet onto the bottom center of the top waterfall panel. To see all the pages of the waterfall, view the video linked above. Cut a strip of cardstock to 4 1/2" x 1" and wrap it from the bottom of the cover up to the top waterfall panel. (I managed to slide my strip under the paper attached to the inside front cover.) Add a magnet to the strip. The magnet will line up with the magnet you placed on the first panel. This will also help your waterfall to stay neat and tidy. Cut decorative paper to cover both sides of the strip. Add an embellishment to the top, if desired. Add ephemera cards and decorative paper to each panel. The papers are cut to 3" x 4". Round the corners, as shown. Let's add the pages to the mini. I like to add my pages first, and then decorate them. I have fewer mishaps if I do it this way! Trim six pieces of heavy weight black cardstock to 6 1/8" x 6 1/8". Round the corners on one side of each page. Place adhesive on the left side of each hinge. Attach a page to each hinge. Trim decorative paper for each page. Each decorative panel should measure 6" x 6". You will need twelve (12) pieces. Once you have paper on all the panels, you can decorate as desired. Inside front cover and page one. The ATC tags make great tuck spots. The photo booklet on page one is 4 1/8" x 8 1/4" black cardstock, folded in half. Decorative paper folded inside and held with twine makes a fun place for some journaling. Pages two and three. Here is a wonderful example of the Lost in Paradise Collection working together perfectly with the older collections! The pocket on page two measures 6 1/8" x 3", which means you need to cut your cardstock to 7 1/8" x 3 1/2" and score on three sides at 1/2" to make the pocket tabs. Fussy cut images, popped up with foam tape, make great pockets and tuck spots! Pages four and five. The Graphic 45 tags and tag dies are prefect for this style of project. To create the band on page four, cut a border strip from the decorative paper, and attach on either edge with foam adhesive. Use a chipboard element as a "stopper" to keep the little accordion mini from sliding out of the book. The angled pocket on page five is easy to make. Cut a square of cardstock to 6" x 6" and cut it in half diagonally. Set one of the resulting triangles aside. Score the triangle on the two 90 degree edges at 1/2" to make the pocket tabs. Attach the pocket to the page. To make the booklet, trim black cardstock to 4 1/8" tall. Then splice pieces together to make a length of 15 1/8". Score every 3 1/8" to create five panels that are 4 1/8" x 3 1/8" each. The 4" x 3" ephemera cards are perfect for this accordion fold booklet. Lots of space for journaling! To see close-ups and the other side...you guessed it, view the video! Pages six and seven.Tuck spots and fold outs, oh my! Use an ATC tag as a tuck spot on page six. To create the flip-out piece on page seven, trim black cardstock to 10 1/4" x 5". Score at 3" and 7". Glue the center section to the center of page seven. Pages eight and nine. Photo booklets are a great addition to any album. And these sweet butterflies make great tuck spots for an ephemera card! The photo booklet on page eight is 4 1/8" x 8 1/4" black cardstock, folded in half. For page nine, fussy cut butterflies and pop them up on the page to create tuck spots. Pages ten and eleven. A riot of color! The pocket on page ten measures 6 1/8" x 3", which means you need to cut your cardstock to 7 1/8" x 3 1/2" and score on three sides at 1/2" to make the pocket tabs. On page eleven, a chipboard element makes a great tuck spot for another photo booklet. Page twelve and the back cover. Use a chipboard element for a tuck spot on page twelve. For the inside back cover, create a large pocket, as shown. Trim black cardstock to 7 1/4" x 4 1/2". Score on three sides at 1/2" from the edges. Fold the tabs, then add adhesive to the tabs and attach the pocket to the inside back cover as shown. Trim decorative cardstock to 6" x 3 7/8" and attach to the pocket. Use a circle punch to cut a notch on pocket edge. Decorate the pocket and place tags or other items into the pocket. (Too see all the tags for this project, view the video linked above.) I always decorate my front cover LAST. I am pretty rough on the covers while I am decorating the inside, so I like to save the covers until the end. Use a section of the Lost in Paradise Signature Sheet for the front cover. You need to cut a piece that is just slightly smaller than 6 1/4" x 6 1/4". I cut a piece of computer paper to size, and used that as a template to select the portion of the signature sheet that I wanted. This step saves wasting paper with false cuts! I fussy cut two postage images and popped them up on a few pieces of scrap chipboard to give the upper left corner of the cover some interest. I fussy cut lots of flowers, a bird, and a butterfly from the various papers and then layered them in the lower left corner of the cover. I added a few Matte Pearl Gems to the flower centers. The cover is fairly simple, but very striking with all that lovely paper. Cut paper for the spine and back cover and attach. I added a chipboard piece and more pearl gems to the spine. I used ombre sheer ribbon throughout the book. I used a yellow/pink ombre and a yellow/parrot green ombre. (Really Reasonable Ribbon has some lovely Sheer Ombre Ribbons.) I love seeing the ribbon peek out around the edges! Thanks for joining me today! Welcome to a FULL tutorial for this beautiful, Ocean Blue mini album! We will make a 6 ¼” x 6 ¼” x 2 ½” mini album to hold photos, journaling, and ephemera. It is easy to customize this album to fit your needs. I will show you how to make a waterfall element inside the front cover of the album, plus we will add lots of flips, flaps, tuck spots, and pockets! Let’s get started! Gently score the gaps to open and close the covers. Be careful so that you don’t tear or crack the cardstock. The mini album will have six pages (12 sides). To make the hinges, cut six pieces of tan cardstock to 6 ⅛” x 1". Score each in half, fold and burnish. Place double-sided adhesive on one side of each score line, as shown. Cut two pieces of tan cardstock to 6 ⅛” x 1 ½”. Score both pieces at ½” and add double-sided adhesive to the ½” tab. Set these two pieces aside for now. To add your first hinge, line up the fold of the hinge piece with the very edge of the spine chipboard piece, with the fold on the LEFT. The ½” hinge will stick up, and the ½” gutter will be to the right of the fold. For the second hinge, place the fold to the RIGHT and overlap the gutter from hinge number one. The gutter for hinge number two will be up against hinge one. For hinges three through six, make sure the fold is to the RIGHT. The gutter for each hinge should be placed up against each previous hinge, as shown. There should be a ½” gutter between each hinge. For hinge number six, line up the fold of the hinge piece with the very edge of the spine chipboard piece, with the fold on the RIGHT. This is what your project should look like so far. The six hinges will cover the spine piece. Each hinge is 1/2" high and there is a 1/2" gutter between each hinge. Locate the two pieces of tan cardstock you cut to 6 1/8" x 1 1/2". Place the 1/2" section on top of the first hinge to secure it in place (this will make the first hinge a double thickness). Once the piece is attached to the hinge, glue the 1" section to the inside front cover. Burnish and gently score the spine gap. Repeat with the last hinge and back inside cover. (This piece simply reinforces the spine. Cut five strips of Ocean Blue Antigua paper to 6" x 3/8" and sponge the edges with brown or tan ink. Attach one paper strip to each hinge gutter, as shown. Gently fold the hinges back and forth to make them more flexible. Trim two pieces of Fiji paper to 6 1/8" x 6 1/8" and attach to the inside covers. (Sponge all papers for this project with ink, such as Decades Dark Cashmere, if desired.) Tip: To keep from damaging your outside covers, decorate them last. Make sure to set aside enough paper and one ephemera card for your covers to make sure you have enough. Let's add the pages to the mini album. Trim six pieces of tan cardstock to 6 1/8" x 6 1/8". Round the corners on one side of each page. Place adhesive on the left side of each hinge. Tip: I like to add my pages first, and then decorate them. I have fewer mishaps if I do it this way! Attach a page to each hinge. Don’t worry that your hinges are showing on one side. Once we add the decorative paper, the hinge will be hidden. Trim decorative paper for each page. Each decorative panel should measure 6" x 6". You will need twelve (12) pieces. Round the outside corners. Once you have paper on all the panels, you can decorate as desired. (See photos below.) Tip: Cut the various printed papers to size, and then decide how you want them to be arranged before attaching paper to the pages. Once you are happy with the arrangement, glue everything down. Let’s make the waterfall element before we decorate any of the pages. To create the waterfall section inside the front cover, cut five panels from tan cardstock to 4 5/8" tall by 3 1/8" wide. Score on the short side at 1/2". Round the corners opposite your score lines. Fold on the score lines, making sure to fold the 1/2" tab to the back of the panel. Place double-sided adhesive onto the resulting 1/2" tabs. Start at the top edge of the cover and add your panels. Line up the first panel with the top edge of the cover, in the center of the cover. Continue to attach the panels, lining up the folded edge of each panel to the bottom edge of the tab of each previous panel. Place a magnet onto the top waterfall panel as shown above. Cut a strip of tan cardstock to 4" x 1" and wrap it from the bottom of the cover up to the top waterfall panel. (You need to add this panel BEFORE adding your decorative paper to the FRONT of your mini album.) Add a magnet to the strip. The magnet will line up with the magnet you placed on the first waterfall panel. Cut two pieces of decorative paper to 3 ⅜” x ⅞” and cover both sides of the cardstock strip. Round the corners if desired. This closure will also help your waterfall to stay neat and tidy. Cut five pieces of dark blue cardstock to 4” x 3” and use to mat five (5) ephemera cut-aparts from Cozumel paper (trim the cut-aparts to 3 ⅞”x 2 ⅞”). Round the corners, as shown. Tip: If you have the Ocean Blue Ephemera and Journaling cards, you may use them instead of the cut-aparts. Add one of the matted ephemera cut-aparts to the top of each waterfall panel. Trim five (5) pieces of decorative paper to 3" x 4" and add to the back of the waterfall panels. Round the corners as shown. Cut five (5) decorative paper strips to ⅜” x 3” and add to the tabs of each waterfall panel. Add an embellishment to the top of the closure strip, if desired. I added a sea turtle charm. Let’s decorate the pages of our album! Create a little notebook for Page One. Cut dark blue cardstock to 8 ¼” x 4 ⅛”, score at 4 ⅛” and burnish. Round the corners. Cut two (2) pieces of tan cardstock to 8” x 4” and score at 4”. Round the corners. Cut one yard of blue twine. Fold the cardstock together and secure with twine to make a fun little notebook for some journaling. Add decorative paper to the blue cardstock panels. Cut the paper to 4” x 4” and round the corners as shown. Glue the little booklet to the center of Page One. Decorate the front of the booklet with a border stip and a cut apart image. Pages Two and Three. We will create a pocket and two photo mats for Page Two. Cut tan cardstock to 7 ⅛” x 3 ½” and score on three sides at 1/2" to make the pocket tabs. Place double-sided adhesive on the tabs, fold and burnish, making sure the adhesive side is toward the page. You want to glue the pocket to the page, not to itself! Attach the pocket to the right edge of the page as shown above. Trim decorative paper to cover the pocket to 6” x 2 ⅞”. Decorate the pocket with cheesecloth, a seahorse charm, a small shell, a small piece of sea glass, and a fussy cut postage stamp image. To create photo mats, cut tan cardstock to 5 ⅞” x 4” and round the corners. Tip: To create interest on photo mats and journaling spots, draw a design around the edges with a dark blue journaling pen or marker. Cut a large photo mat for Page Three. Trim tan cardstock to 5” x 5”, round the corners, and attach the cardstock to the center of Page Three. Add a small, glass bottle of glitter and beads to the corner of the photo mat. I used a rolled “message” as the bottle stopper. I also added a fussy cut postage stamp image. Tip: Be careful when attaching embellishments to photo mats. You want to make sure that you can slip your photos under the embellishments. Pages Four and Five. To create the band on page four, cut a border strip from the decorative paper, and attach on either edge with foam adhesive. You can now tuck photos, journaling pages, or ephemera under the band. The angled pocket on Page Five is easy to make. Cut a square of tan cardstock to 6" x 6" and cut it in half diagonally. Set one of the resulting triangles aside. Score the triangle on the two 90 degree edges at ½” to make the pocket tabs. Attach the pocket to the lower left corner of Page Five. Trim decorative paper to 4 ⅞” x 4 ⅞” and cut in half diagonally. Use one of the resulting triangles to decorate the pocket. Set the other triangle aside. To make the card, trim tan cardstock to 11” x 4 ¼” and score at 5 ½” on the long side to make an A2 size card. Round the bottom corners. Trim two pieces of decorative paper to 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” and attach one to the front and one to the back of the card. Trim an ephemera card from the decorative paper and attach to the card front. The inside of the card is perfect for journaling. Tuck the card into the pocket. Pages Six and Seven. Trim out an ephemera card and attach it to the top of Page Six to make a tuck spot. To make the flip card for Page Seven, trim tan cardstock to 11” x 4 ¼” and score at 5 ½” on the long side to make an A2 size card. Round the bottom corners. Glue the flip card to the center of Page Seven. Trim a piece of decorative paper to 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” and attach it to the front of the card. Trim two more pieces of decorative paper to 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” and attach them to the inside of the card, rounding the corners as shown. Pages Eight and Nine. Trim border strips (and a sticker strip) to create tuck spots on both pages. Pages Ten and Eleven. Follow the directions for Page Two to create a pocket and two photo mats for Page Ten. Decorate the pocket with a cut apart. Follow the directions for Page Five to create a diagonal pocket and card for Page Eleven. Decorate the pocket with sea glass, stones, and a fussy cut postage stamp image. Tuck the card into the pocket. Page Twelve and the inside back cover. Trim a border strip to create a tuck spot for Page Twelve. For the inside back cover, create a large pocket, as shown. Trim tan cardstock to 7 ¼” x 4 ½”. Score on three sides at ½” from the edges. Fold the tabs, then add adhesive to the tabs and attach the pocket to the left side of the inside back cover as shown. Trim decorative cardstock to 6" x 3 ⅞” and attach to the pocket. Add an ephemera card to the pocket, as shown. Create a 5 ¾” x 5 ¾” top-fold card from tan cardstock. Trim decorative paper to 5 ⅝” x 5 ⅝”, rounding the corners as shown. Attach the paper to the front of the card. Add an ephemera card tuck spot to the front of the card. Trim two more pieces of decorative paper to 5 ⅝” x 5 ⅝”, rounding the corners as shown. Attach the paper to the inside panels of the card. Add a fussy cut image as shown. Trim decorative paper to 5 ⅝” x 5 ⅝”, rounding the corners as shown. Attach the paper to the back of the card. Place the card into the pocket. Let’s decorate the covers of your mini album! I always decorate my covers LAST. I am pretty rough on the covers while I am decorating the inside, so I like to save the covers until the end. Tip: When saving your covers for last you MUST plan ahead to insure that you save enough paper to decorate the covers and spine. For the front cover, cut a piece of decorative paper that is just slightly smaller than 6 1/4" x 6 1/4". Attach the paper to the cover. Mat one of the ephemera cards cut from Cozumel paper with dark blue cardstock. Attach the image to a piece of scrap chipboard and then glue it to the center of the cover. Decorate the cover with cheese cloth, twine, shells, and a tiny bottle of sand. Glue some beads to one corner of a postage stamp image and glue the stamp to the top of the twine as shown. Cut paper to 6 ¼” x 2 ½” for the spine. Attach a Shabby Chic Keyhole to the spine as shown. Add silver Matte Pearl Gems to the keyhole, then add a fussy cut postage stamp image. Use foam tape to attach the postage image. Cut decorative paper that is just slightly smaller than 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" and attach it to the back cover. You are finished! Thanks for joining me today! I had several requests to post a tutorial for my Graphic 45 Pencil Bound ABC Primer Mini Album, so here it is! you will need some drink coasters or chipboard for a base Paper cut to size for both sides of coaster base pencil ruler measuring tape-fabric or plastic colorbox chalk tape scissors My First Ticondergoa Pencils-or any round object tacky glue Find out how much tape you will need with a about a half inch extra on both sides for attaching mine was 3 icnhes cut 21 (6 per page x 3 pages and 3 for the cover page) I find the center of my page and then measure out accordingly I make sure they are spaced evenly then I mark both side- i like to color it in to make it easier to see then i use one page as a template to do the others- at this pint I ink all of my edges with colorbox chalk. add a little tacky glue to each marked space- I use tacky glue doe to its good hold- tape adhesives do not seem to work as well-use them at your own risk! For your cover page you only need 3 tabs- i put and x on them to remind me glue only 3 tabs to your cover page stick em down! I use pencil to line them up perfectly then continue on to the other pages-i stack them as I go and use my pencil to make little adjustments as needed- set aside to dry then I bust out my Xyron creative station and line all of my cardstock pages. You can use tape runner for this instead lay it over the top of the tabs you just glued down trim any excess if needed Continue to do the rest of the pages-one side only!!-Covering the tabs you have already made TIP! I like to number my bases with my cardstock to match them up easier After you glued all of the sides with tabs, you will now want to glue down the other side of the tabs to the backs Double check to make sure you have sliding room, should fit loose enough to slide easily-to tight and your pages wont turn easily The nice thing about using a measuring tape is you know exactly where each tabs needs to be glued repeat for all of your pages. You should have 4 pages 3 with 6 tabs each one with 3 tabs- your cover Now take your cover Page A and place a top your second Page B I bend the tabs to make it easier to see- bend the three to the right (tabs 1,2,and 3) Start by going thorough the first tab of page B, then the first tab of page A -please note I mistakenly call page A, page B on this pic! sorry! keep going, alternating through page A and B got it right this time! and finally last tab of page A You should look like this now! Three empty tabs on page B Now place page C on top of page B and do the same thing, alternating through the tabs and again.... and that will leave your back page with the three tabs, just run the last pencil though all three tabs now you have this! take a piece of thin twine and weave it through the pencils tie it in a tight knot repeat on other side-dont worry if it goes all wonky, you can straighten it up as you go. if you like you can put a small dab of glue where the knot is, to seal the knot and make sure it is adhered to pencil-but a tight knot usually does the job my cover page Hope you will give it a try!

Begin by applying Crackle Paste over stencil to canvas using palette knife. Dry. Mix paints to achieve color hues to match pattern paper. Paint washed layers of paint to canvas; drying between each layer. Stamp background images onto prepared canvas with paints; dry. Adhere chipboard frame and Epherema card to top of canvas. Fussy cut images from pattern paper. Add fussy cut images with pop dots. Adhere metal gears to top of canvas. Tie twine bow to hot air balloon. Add twine string to bow. Twist and turn twine around gears and attach to Epherema Card Add bow and flowers to canvas. I am so thrilled that By the Sea is back as as a Deluxe Collector's Edition! I'm going on a cruise the end of March so I made this Traveler's Journal styled mini to preserve my vacation memories. The Collection includes a page of cut-aparts printed on both sides. I used these to embellish the front and back covers of my journal. Layer up the cut-aparts with other design papers for a stunning presentation Tip: Give your cover that "extra" look by popping up the cut-apart with dimensional foam tape. Or, to save on supply costs, use cardboard as a backing to pop it up. Another cut-apart tip: This collection includes design paper that is printed on both sides with the same sized cut-aparts. Just cut the paper in half horizontally, fold accordion style and you have an instant pull out page. This journal is wider than many at 1 1/2" wide. I started with Eileen Hull Designs by Sizzix journal die and cut two journal covers. Instead of assembling using just the two covers, I made a spine by cutting a piece of chipboard 1 1/2" wide and the same length as the journal covers. Then I glued the two journal covers to the spine side by side. (The spine should fit perfectly between the outer score lines where the covers fold.) Cut another piece of thin (like shirt packaging) cardboard and glue to the inside of the spine. This makes the spine nice and strong. Use a Crop-a-dile to punch holes in the spine using the already die-cut holes as a guide. At this point string the elastic as you do for an Traveler's Notebook styled journal. Here's a link to a traditionally made Traveler's Notebook using Graphic 45's Imagination Collection. I've recorded a video flip through of the mini so that you can see all of the pages. I used a simple design on the back cover, using another cut-apart, so that the journal would store easily. Instead of wrapping the journal with an elastic band, I used long lengths of seam binding. You can either wrap ribbon around the journal as I have done in the above photo, or simply tie it and let the long ribbon tails dangle as in the top photos. This journal will hold 4 signatures but I have only included 3 so that there is lots of room inside. The signatures are the individual books inside this journal and they are quickly bound inside with elastic thread that is secured to the book's spine. Tip: If you don't want the elastic to show on your outer spine, cut a piece of chipboard to fit the spine, cover with design paper and glue to fit over the spine. Add a fun chain of charms as an embellishment. I am so crazy about Graphic 45's new Rose Bouquet Collection!! The ones I used here are Bon Voyage & French Blue, aren't they just fabulously gorgeous and so perfectly matched to G45's colors. The flowers also come with the greenery you see underlying the roses. Welcome to a FULL tutorial for this beautiful, Ocean Blue mini album! We will make a 6 ¼” x 6 ¼” x 2 ½” mini album to hold photos, journaling, and ephemera. It is easy to customize this album to fit your needs. I will show you how to make a waterfall element inside the front cover of the album, plus we will add lots of flips, flaps, tuck spots, and pockets! Let’s get started! You need three pieces of heavy to medium weight chipboard to create the album base. Cut two pieces for the covers to 6 ¼” x 6 ¼”. Cut the spine piece to 6 ¼” x 2 ½”. Splice together tan cardstock to make a piece that measures 8 ¼” tall and 17 ½” wide. Place your chipboard pieces onto the cardstock, with a one-inch border all the way around. Make sure to space your spine chipboard piece approximately ¼” from the cover pieces to allow the album to open and close without cracking the cardstock. Cut the corners of the cardstock an an angle, as shown. Add double-sided adhesive to the tabs. Then wrap your cardstock around the chipboard to give a finished edge. Gently score the gaps to open and close the covers. Be careful so that you don’t tear or crack the cardstock. The mini album will have six pages (12 sides). Tip: To create interest on photo mats and journaling spots, draw a design around the edges with a dark blue journaling pen or marker. Cut a large photo mat for Page Three. Trim tan cardstock to 5” x 5”, round the corners, and attach the cardstock to the center of Page Three. Add a small, glass bottle of glitter and beads to the corner of the photo mat. I used a rolled “message” as the bottle stopper. I also added a fussy cut postage stamp image. Tip: Be careful when attaching embellishments to photo mats. You want to make sure that you can slip your photos under the embellishments. Pages Four and Five. To create the band on page four, cut a border strip from the decorative paper, and attach on either edge with foam adhesive. You can now tuck photos, journaling pages, or ephemera under the band. The angled pocket on Page Five is easy to make. Cut a square of tan cardstock to 6" x 6" and cut it in half diagonally. Set one of the resulting triangles aside. Score the triangle on the two 90 degree edges at ½” to make the pocket tabs. Attach the pocket to the lower left corner of Page Five. Trim decorative paper to 4 ⅞” x 4 ⅞” and cut in half diagonally. Use one of the resulting triangles to decorate the pocket. Set the other triangle aside. To make the card, trim tan cardstock to 11” x 4 ¼” and score at 5 ½” on the long side to make an A2 size card. Round the bottom corners. Trim two pieces of decorative paper to 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” and attach one to the front and one to the back of the card. Trim an ephemera card from the decorative paper and attach to the card front. The inside of the card is perfect for journaling. Tuck the card into the pocket. Pages Six and Seven. Trim out an ephemera card and attach it to the top of Page Six to make a tuck spot. To make the flip card for Page Seven, trim tan cardstock to 11” x 4 ¼” and score at 5 ½” on the long side to make an A2 size card. Round the bottom corners. Glue the flip card to the center of Page Seven. Trim a piece of decorative paper to 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” and attach it to the front of the card. Trim two more pieces of decorative paper to 5 ⅜” x 4 ⅛” and attach them to the inside of the card, rounding the corners as shown. Pages Eight and Nine. Trim border strips (and a sticker strip) to create tuck spots on both pages. Pages Ten and Eleven. Follow the directions for Page Two to create a pocket and two photo mats for Page Ten. Decorate the pocket with a cut apart. Follow the directions for Page Five to create a diagonal pocket and card for Page Eleven. Decorate the pocket with sea glass, stones, and a fussy cut postage stamp image. Tuck the card into the pocket. Page Twelve and the inside back cover. Trim a border strip to create a tuck spot for Page Twelve. For the inside back cover, create a large pocket, as shown. Trim tan cardstock to 7 ¼” x 4 ½”. Score on three sides at ½” from the edges. Fold the tabs, then add adhesive to the tabs and attach the pocket to the left side of the inside back cover as shown. Trim decorative cardstock to 6" x 3 ⅞” and attach to the pocket. Add an ephemera card to the pocket, as shown. Create a 5 ¾” x 5 ¾” top-fold card from tan cardstock. Trim decorative paper to 5 ⅝” x 5 ⅝”, rounding the corners as shown. Attach the paper to the front of the card. Add an ephemera card tuck spot to the front of the card. Trim two more pieces of decorative paper to 5 ⅝” x 5 ⅝”, rounding the corners as shown. Attach the paper to the inside panels of the card. Add a fussy cut image as shown. Trim decorative paper to 5 ⅝” x 5 ⅝”, rounding the corners as shown. Attach the paper to the back of the card. Place the card into the pocket. Let’s decorate the covers of your mini album! I always decorate my covers LAST. I am pretty rough on the covers while I am decorating the inside, so I like to save the covers until the end. Tip: When saving your covers for last you MUST plan ahead to insure that you save enough paper to decorate the covers and spine. For the front cover, cut a piece of decorative paper that is just slightly smaller than 6 1/4" x 6 1/4". Attach the paper to the cover. Mat one of the ephemera cards cut from Cozumel paper with dark blue cardstock. Attach the image to a piece of scrap chipboard and then glue it to the center of the cover. Decorate the cover with cheese cloth, twine, shells, and a tiny bottle of sand. Glue some beads to one corner of a postage stamp image and glue the stamp to the top of the twine as shown. Cut paper to 6 ¼” x 2 ½” for the spine. Attach a Shabby Chic Keyhole to the spine as shown. Add silver Matte Pearl Gems to the keyhole, then add a fussy cut postage stamp image. Use foam tape to attach the postage image. Cut decorative paper that is just slightly smaller than 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" and attach it to the back cover. You are finished! Thanks for joining me today! I was lucky enough to be part of the original Graphic 45 release of Safari Adventure, but I feel twice as lucky to still be around for the NEW Deluxe Collector’s Edition release! I love the beautiful images and earth-tone colors of this spectacular collection! I had a notebook insert left over from a past travel album project and thought it would make an awesome notebook all by itself! I created tags for the front and back pockets. Plus, I added some fun decor to some of the inside pages. This slim notebook is perfect to stash in your purse or backpack. The grid paper is perfect for taking notes or making drawings! Let’s get started! You will need the Safari Adventure Deluxe Collector’s Edition (with chipboard and stickers) and one notebook from the Travel Album Notebook Set. Begin by wrapping a 1 yard length of ribbon around the notebook securing to the front and back covers. Tie a bow to keep the notebook closed. Trim any excess ribbon, if necessary. Trim the giraffe paper to fit the front cover (approximately 8 ⅛” x 4 ⅛”). I also added a bit of a border strip to the bottom of the cover. Use the cover as a guide for rounding the paper corners. Trim the giraffe images from the Signature Sheet and glue them to the front cover as shown. Add chipboard elements as desired. I used a journaling pen to write “notes” on one of the tags. The slim profile of this notebook makes it perfect for slipping into your purse or backpack! However, if you stuff it full, the ribbon tie closure will keep everything secure! Trim the spotted print paper to fit the back cover (approximately 8 ⅛” x 4 ⅛”). To add paper to the inside pocket, create a template by tracing the shape of the pocket onto a piece of computer paper. Trim out the template to be slightly smaller than the pocket. Add paper to the pocket and to the inside cover (behind the pocket). I also added a chipboard tag to the upper edge of the pocket. Cut 1” from the bottom of a Large Kraft Tag. Then, use the Large Tag Die to trim paper to fit the tag, cutting 1 ⅛” from the bottom of the paper. Round the corners, as shown. If you wish, add a contrasting strip of paper to the bottom edge of the tag. Use ivory cardstock to trim out a photo mat to fit the tag and round the four corners. I used a journaling pen to draw a decoration around the edges of the photo mat. Repeat the process for the back of the tag. Cut various images from the Safari Adventure paper and add them to the pages of your notebook. You may also wish to add fussy cut images and some of the chipboard shapes or stickers. Repeat the above process for the pocket inside the back cover. I also added a fussy cut tag to my pocket. The chipboard shapes make great tuck spots for the large tags.I stayed with the giraffe theme! Add a photo mat to the back of the tag, if you wish. Your notebook is ready for you to add photos, journaling, sketches, or whatever you wish! Tie the notebook closed and slip it into your bag! Thanks for looking!
