Well, my Daily Junque Journal is getting full. It has also evolved into more of an inspiration journal than a "Smash Book." So, I decided to shift gears a bit. I am going to finish this book up, using the clippings and printouts from magazines, the internet, etc, and keep this as an inspiration journal. I am going to leave the personal things in here, though, as I don't want to rip those pages out! I am going to start another "Smash Journal" and I am going to use a book I put together 2 years ago, and then set aside to wait for the perfect project. I bought this kit from Creating Keepsakes at a convention 2 years ago. It is full of fun things. The only thing I did different was to use bigger bookrings, when I decided to make it a "Smash Book". I figure it is going to get big! It is a big book, the pages are 6x12". It has a ton of them! Some are cardstock, some are transparencies... There are envelopes... And chipboard pieces. There are tons of possibilities. I used a chipboard ribbon slide "Remember" and used ribbon and score tape to adhere it to the plastic cover. This is the first "entry." My husband gave me these BEAUTIFUL flowers for Valentine's day! I saved the cellophane paper from it, and the card. I printed a picture and put it on an envelope. I doodled one day at work, and the shopping bag has some stuff I saved from a girly shopping trip with my BFF. I added a menu from the coolest burger place around here, and a bunch of tags from some clothes that I recently bought. That's it for now. What do you think? Stay Crafty!!

Ich liebe meine Smash Books, das merkt man, oder? Mein drittes Journal dieser Art habe ich im letzten Urlaub gefüllt, und ich möchte euch heute und hier ein paar Tipps dazu geben, bzw euch erzählen, welche Zutaten ich verwendet habe. Zuerst braucht man ein leeres Smash Book, die gibt es in vielen Varianten und Farben. Ich hatte als Reisejournal eins gewählt*klick*, in dem die Seiten möglichst nicht zu bunt sind, damit viel Text reinpasst. Ich bin auf meinen ersten Seiten in den ersten Urlaubstagen noch verschwenderisch mit dem Platz umgegangen, aber je weiter ich nach hinten kam, umso mehr fürchtete ich, nicht genug Fläche zu haben und habe immer mehr geschichtet und übereinander gearbeitet um jeden Millimeter auszunutzen. Da meine Bücher immer so prall gefüllt sind brauche ich auch die Smash-Bänder*klick* zum Zusammenhalten Bei den Urlaubsvorbereitungen sind diese Journals auch schon nützlich, gesammelte Restauranttipps, geplante Routen, Shoppingtipps usw schreibe ich...

Hi Everyone Those of you that follow my blog and are friends on the FB Smash groups, will know just how much I adore Smashbooks and all things Smashy :) I thought you would like to see my Son Zach's Smash book (who's 11) and the pages he has decorated so far. I think it is such a wonderful way for kids to share a hobby with you, and crate and capture memories of their own, and keep things that are meaningful to them. It's great to know they can look back in years to come, and see the things that ment so much to them as a child, and a wonderful way to capture memories, that over the years, are so very easily forgotten. I only wish I had had one as a child, I would soooo love to look back now, and re-capture some wonderful memories of my childhood. My other child Robbie (who's 7) also loves Smashing too, but perhaps not as much, the Wii and Football seem that bit more appealing to him at the moment, lol! But, still he manages the odd pages now and again, and loves it when he does :) I urge any parents out there to give this a go with their children. Remember, Smashing is for ALL ages, and such fun too! Anyway, hope you enjoy Zach's pages, he is so chuffed with his Smash book, and would love to see your comments and encouragement. This has been quite the year for the Holmes Crew. From the birth of our first grandson to my daughter's wedding, this year has had quite a few highlights and the year isn't even over yet! I knew the minute I saw the new SN@P! collection that it would be perfect to document all those memories. My binder choice was orange...bright, happy and cheerful...the perfect color to document such an amazing year! I left the chipboard tab dividers in the album to separate my album into quarters or seasons. I purposefully left these almost "naked" as a place to rest...
