Limited Edition Screen Print by Liam Smith inspired by the book 'George's Marvellous Medicine' which is a part of our 2017 Blister, for £50
This week we have been working on describing two characters from George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl. We created describe maps on Google Drawings then used our thinking map to write a description of either George or Grandma. Enjoy. George by Sherlyn George from George’s Marvellous Medicine is brave because he wasn't afraid to make the medicine. However George was also naughty because he made the medicine even though he knew something would probably go wrong. I think George was creative because he created the magic medicine from lots of strange ingredients. He was also afraid when Mr Kranky (his dad) said that they would open a supermarket, selling his medicine. In the story George has blond hair, he wears a red T-shirt and jeans. George is a kind boy but his grandma doesn't think so. His grandma thinks he is a lazy old brat and he is growing too fast. He doesn't have any friends because he lives in the countryside where there are not many children and his school is far away. George’s dad has his own farm with lots of animals. In the story he made a marvellous medicine that made his grandma and his dad’s chicken grow. When his dad heard about the medicine he made all his animals grow. I think George was right to make the medicine because his grandma was really mean to him. I would never want a grandma like George’s grandma because she’s a smelly old hag and doesn't listen to anything George says. My grandma’s way nicer than George’s grandma and I am glad that my grandma is nice to me. Grandma by Samarah Grandma from George’s Marvellous Medicine is a wicked person who has a pointy nose and a wretched face. She is rotten and has never smiled. Grandma is a mean woman with a wrinkly face. She has pale brown teeth with a puckered mouth that looks like a dogs bottom. She was super, super tiny so she needed a walking stick and a stool. She was grouchy and beastly and looked like a witch. She didn’t need to do any work or anything, George and George’s mum and dad had to do everything for her and that old wicked woman did nothing, she didn’t even move a muscle. She sounded like an old witch with a croaky voice like a frog. She had a mind but it was a weird mind. Grandma never liked George she hated him. She was a wicked witch the only thing she needed was her medicine. Grandma was a selfish character and an old little maggot the only thing she did was order people around. She did nothing else but be boosy so I think she deserved everything that happened to her.
