The Otodus shark is a species of ancient fish that lived in ancient times, roughly about 60 to 45 million years ago, during the Eocene and Oligocene epochs of the Paleogene geological era. Otodus is one of the ancient sharks known for its large size and distinctive skeleton. Otodus vertebrae were discovered in the Khouribga region of Oued Zem in Morocco. They are a rare natural collection that provides scientists with an opportunity to study the evolution of this type of fish during that distant time period. These vertebrae are very important because they help understand how sharks evolved over the ages, and provide valuable information about the history of ancient environments and the environmental changes these creatures were affected by. In addition, discoveries of such vertebrae contribute to expanding scientists' knowledge about the distribution and spread of ancient species, and contribute to understanding how environmental conditions and climate changes affect the evolution of life on Earth over the ages.
